Synopsis:

After being hit by a car and dying, Xia Weiqi transmigrated—only to find herself reborn as an egg. The voices around her were unintelligible until she heard the first familiar words:

Feng Qingzhuo: “Why is this egg so ugly?”

Bai Wugui: “Qingzhuo, mind your words.”

Feng Qingzhuo: “My apologies, Master.”

Hearing this, Xia Weiqi began thrashing wildly inside the egg. The surrounding dragons and humans watched as the egg trembled violently.

“Perhaps Chris likes Immortal Master Feng? Why don’t you take her back to raise?” suggested the Dragon Matriarch.

“Qingzhuo, accept her at once.”

“Yes.”

And so, Feng Qingzhuo, standing to the side and once again called upon, inexplicably ended up bringing this dragon egg back from the distant Dragon Valley.

After hatching, Xia Weiqi—now a Western dragon—settled into the sect and was given a new name: Chris.

But… Feng Qingzhuo—why did that name sound so familiar? At twenty, Chris suddenly realized: Wasn’t this the cannon-fodder senior sister from that tragic novel she’d read?!

Chris panicked. She remembered the book’s plot: Feng Qingzhuo, the righteous sect’s leader, had fought with her junior sister over a man, fallen into demonic cultivation out of love-turned-hatred, and was disdained by the world. Her own master had personally gouged out her golden core and exiled her from the sect.

Fate was cruel. The former leader of the righteous path became the foremost demonic cultivator—only to be outnumbered in the final battle between immortals and demons. Feng Qingzhuo was beheaded by her beloved junior sister and senior brother, her head displayed as a warning to the world.

But… Chris scratched her head, staring at Feng Qingzhuo’s cold, emotionless face. This didn’t look like someone who’d fallen for love! And hadn’t Feng Qingzhuo cultivated the Path of Severing Emotions? How had she ended up in the Huanzong Sect after turning demonic? What did that have to do with her previous cultivation?!

“Qingzhuo!” The little dragon called out in a milky voice to the woman practicing sword forms.

“What is it?” Feng Qingzhuo stood, eyeing the dragon cub curiously.

“I’m hungry!” The toothless dragon pointed at her mouth.

“Coming.” The cultivation-obsessed Feng Qingzhuo dutifully set aside her sword and picked up firewood to cook.

Chris: “Qingzhuo, have you heard the story of the princess and the evil dragon?”

Feng Qingzhuo: “No.”

“Then let me tell you.” After Chris finished, Feng Qingzhuo frowned. “Why must the dragon kidnap a princess? Why must the evil dragon always be slain by a knight?”

Chris fell silent. She didn’t know either.

Feng Qingzhuo shook her head, her gaze darkening. The dragon’s fate mirrored her own too closely, and she refused to accept it. “Your story has too many plot holes.”

Chris huffed. “Then how would you change it?”

Feng Qingzhuo smiled. “Naturally, the princess would take the evil dragon home and raise her. They’d live happily ever after.”

Chris: “?”

Feng Qingzhuo: “What I mean is—you’re my dragon.” Her cool fingertips brushed Chris’s cheek. “Because I raised you.”

Chris: “To be fair, you have to be my princess!”

Feng Qingzhuo smiled brightly and softly replied, “Okay.”
