Summary
Synopsis
Su Lingqing was originally an orphan in the mortal world.
Due to her innate Sha Body (Ominous Body), she was labeled as a harbinger of ill fortune. Her parents died young, and she was ostracized by the villagers. Fortunately, her Master, Ling Yunyue, known as the “Ascension Fairy,” the foremost figure of the righteous path, took her in and brought her back to the Heaven’s Secret Sect.
Her Master treated her exceptionally well, being thoughtful in every regard. As time passed, Su Lingqing became trapped in her Master’s gentleness. Despite being warned, she fell hopelessly in love with her.
Tormented by her feelings, Su Lingqing harbored a decade of deep affection. She finally chose to bravely confess her love on her birthday, but what she received was a sword thrust through her heart.
The sharp blade plunged into her chest. Su Lingqing looked up in disbelief, her eyes holding no hatred, only endless confusion.
Ling Yunyue’s gaze was cold, completely devoid of its former tenderness. She explained the reason indifferently.
It turned out that she had been cultivating the Path of Emotionless Cultivation (Wuqin Dao). To achieve mastery in this path, one must first earn the genuine love of a person, and then personally kill them.
Su Lingqing’s heart was filled with desolation upon learning the truth.
Her Master’s gentleness was fake. The affection she often displayed was also fake.
Her Master once saved her from dire circumstances, so this act could be seen as repaying that past kindness.
From this moment on, they were even. Neither owed the other. …
The world believed that the innate Sha Body symbolized ill-fortune, but they did not know that such people possess two lives.
Su Lingqing did not die. After the sword pierced her heart, her body dissolved into ashes before Ling Yunyue’s eyes, yet it reformed at the banks of the Luo River.
Reborn, she distanced herself from everything in the past, retreating into the deep mountains for dedicated cultivation. A century later, her Daoist arts reached perfection.
She re-entered the mortal world, initially thinking that Ling Yunyue had already achieved mastery of the Emotionless Dao and ascended to the immortal realm. Instead, she heard news that the Ascension Fairy had fallen into the demonic path.
The sword through the heart all those years ago had left little of Su Lingqing’s love remaining, and she had no desire to investigate what exactly had happened.
That very night, a slender figure barged into the inn where she was temporarily staying, pinning her onto the bed without a word.
The all-too-familiar voice whispered in her ear: “Lingqing, Master regrets it…”
