The Five Heartless Scumbag Alphas Turned Against Each Other Because Of Me - Chapter 12
Wen Chuan’s anger flared up in an instant.
Money, money, money—was that all this woman ever thought about? Had she fallen into a pit of greed? Sister Cheng Yuan was noble and serene, detached from worldly desires—pure, beautiful. Wen Chuan now felt she must’ve been blind to ever let such a vulgar Omega act as a stand-in for someone as virtuous as Sister Cheng Yuan.
Her appetite was gone, and she no longer wanted to face this Omega who, despite having a beautiful appearance, had such a repulsive soul. Her expression darkened as she stood up from the table.
“You eat by yourself.”
Tan Hua rested her chin on her hand, looking surprised.
“You’re not eating?”
“No.” Wen Chuan had lost all desire. Everything about Tan Hua irritated her now. Even the scent of camellia clinging faintly to the air around her felt suffocating.
Fueled by anger, Wen Chuan wanted nothing more than to cut all ties right then and there and never have anything to do with Tan Hua again.
“Alright, I’ll respect your decision,” Tan Hua said, making no attempt to stop her. “But before you leave, remember to settle the bill.”
When Wen Chuan turned to glare at her, burning with fury, Tan Hua casually tapped her phone with her pale fingertip.
“And don’t forget my stand-in fee, either.”
She spoke like a greedy swindler demanding payment.
“Even though we didn’t specify this last time, our contract clearly states a minimum engagement of two hours.”
Tan Hua lifted her pretty face, her smile radiant and charming.
“So just pay me for two hours, and I won’t nickel-and-dime you on the rest.”
Wen Chuan was dumbfounded by her shamelessness.
“You didn’t even complete the full service time—and you still want more money?!”
How could such a greedy woman exist?
“And that’s my fault?” Tan Hua asked innocently.
“You’re the one choosing to leave, not me. I’m not forcing you.”
She showed no intention of backing down.
“Don’t try to throw baseless accusations at me. I’m not taking the fall.”
Wen Chuan’s breathing grew rapid, her chest rising and falling—clearly furious. After staring at Tan Hua coldly for a while, she yanked her chair back and sat down heavily.
She wasn’t going to leave now. She’d already paid—she might as well at least get a meal out of it. No way she was going home with an empty stomach and a belly full of rage.
Tan Hua lowered her face, her rose-petal lips curving into a victorious little smirk.
The meal was completely joyless for Wen Chuan. This had once been her favorite restaurant—because it was the first place Sister Cheng Yuan had ever brought her. Their first one-on-one “date.”
This place had held all her sweetest memories. But today, every bit of that beauty had been ruthlessly shattered by Tan Hua.
Wen Chuan was filled with frustration but had no way to fight back.
She chewed her food aggressively, each bite fueled by resentment. As she ate, she made up her mind: once this meal was over, she would immediately terminate the contract—unilaterally. End it, once and for all.
Tan Hua could go piss off someone else. Wen Chuan wasn’t putting up with this anymore.
Tan Hua noticed Wen Chuan taking deep, steadying breaths and smiled like a sly fox. She happily dug into her food, utterly pleased with herself.
“Still too young,” she murmured.
“Kids just don’t have enough composure,” she said to the system as she leisurely enjoyed the meal.
“If it were me, I wouldn’t rest until I squeezed every penny’s worth out of the other party.”
The system twitched. You think everyone’s a grifter like you?
It couldn’t help but feel a flicker of sympathy for Wen Chuan. After this whole mess, it wasn’t even clear who had hired whom—was Tan Hua the stand-in Wen Chuan paid for, or had Wen Chuan become her paid emotional prop?
At some point, Tan Hua had quietly seized total control over the dynamic between them.
Now Wen Chuan was like a clueless little monkey, dancing in circles while Tan Hua pulled the strings. The system sighed, coming to its final conclusion:
Still too young… She didn’t even realize the trap she walked into.
After polishing off her meal, Tan Hua took the money and dismissed Wen Chuan.
Wen Chuan, still fuming, completed the transfer without saying a single word. She turned and stormed off without so much as a glance back.
The system looked at Tan Hua’s bright, satisfied face—content with both food and payment—and could only think:
…Young people these days. So naïve!
Leaving like that—so cleanly—was far too easy on her!
Once Wen Chuan was out of sight, she furiously typed out a barrage of messages to Tan Hua, essentially declaring she was quitting. Tan Hua didn’t reply. She simply blocked her.
The system panicked.
“Host, you can’t do that! You’ll fail the mission—”
“Why so anxious? She’s the one who should be worried,” Tan Hua replied calmly as she strolled down the street.
“She dumped me—so where’s she going to find another stand-in as talented and gorgeous as me?”
She cast a condescending look at the system.
“You think good stand-ins grow on trees?”
The system opened its mouth, then closed it again—defeated and sulky.
Later, Tan Hua wandered near the company building and spotted a nearby café with a banner that read “Grand Opening: Buy One, Get One Free.” She stopped in front of it, considering for a moment.
Then, decisively, she decided to grab a second drink—for Sheng Yiheng.
After all, Tan Hua’s current job was to act as Sheng Yiheng’s well-mannered, gentle, and thoughtful little secretary. If she wanted a raise, pleasing the boss was essential. If a single cup of coffee could awaken even a sliver of Sheng Yiheng’s conscience, then she considered it well worth the effort.
With coffee in hand, Tan Hua entered the company, sipping as she went. As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she was blocked by Sheng Yiheng’s tall figure.
“Where did you go?”
“Lunch,” Tan Hua blinked innocently and raised the coffee.
“Here, I even brought one back just for you.”
With shameless bravado, she added,
“Even when I’m just grabbing snacks, I’m thinking of you, President Sheng.”
“Really.” Sheng Yiheng looked down from above, expression unreadable as she pierced through Tan Hua’s lie with a calm, sharp gaze.
“So it has nothing to do with the new café downstairs doing a buy-one-get-one-free promo, and you just brought me the extra cup you couldn’t finish?”
Tan Hua’s smile froze.
Saying it that bluntly kind of kills the mood, doesn’t it?
But a modern youth never gives up so easily. She started deflecting with flair.
“President Sheng, how could you think that? How could you so cruelly misinterpret my heartfelt intentions?”
“Even without the promo, I would have brought you a coffee out of sheer thoughtfulness. And even if it was the free one, I didn’t give it to just any Alpha—I gave it to you.”
“You’re always first in my heart,” she said, pointing dramatically at her chest.
“Besides, that cup isn’t the free one. This one is.”
The air turned dead still—almost suffocating.
Tan Hua worked hard to maintain her innocent and sincere expression, but her feet betrayed her as she subconsciously stepped back.
Sheng Yiheng, like a hunter catching a vulnerable prey in a trap, immediately seized the opportunity to press her.
“If you weren’t feeling guilty, then why step back?”
“Because your presence is too divine, President Sheng. So charismatic, so overwhelmingly intense—us mere mortals dare not look directly at you,” Tan Hua replied with a bashful smile.
“Elegant, powerful, alluring… If you keep looking at me like that, I might just get… embarrassed.”
Before she could finish her over-the-top line, Sheng Yiheng had already turned and walked away, thoroughly out of patience.
She didn’t forget to throw a sharp command over her shoulder:
“Follow me.”
“Okay~” Tan Hua obediently followed, coffee in hand. As they passed, the other secretaries gave her complicated looks. Tan Hua flashed a polite smile back—after all, they were all coworkers now, working under the same boss. Workplace harmony was important.
When she disappeared into the executive office with Sheng Yiheng, several secretaries quietly shifted their gazes.
“She doesn’t look like a real secretary to me—more like the President’s… kept lover.”
“She’s just a stand-in. Nothing more. She’ll never replace Cheng Yuan.”
Everyone at the company knew that Cheng Yuan was Sheng Yiheng’s white moonlight. Over the years, plenty of clueless secretaries had tried to climb into Sheng’s bed—but every single one had ended up kicked out of Shengyuan Group.
In their eyes, Sheng Yiheng was devoted to Cheng Yuan—cold and abstinent, living a life of self-discipline. An Omega like Tan Hua, clearly scheming and shameless, would be dismissed sooner or later. It was only a matter of time.
With a bystander’s sense of glee, they stared at the CEO’s office door like they were watching a drama unfold.
“Close the door,” Sheng Yiheng said in her deep, slightly hoarse voice.
Tan Hua glanced back and, lifting her heel, kicked the door shut with casual ease. Sheng Yiheng turned just in time to see that wild, unrefined move and fell into a brief silence.
The tall Alpha frowned slightly.
“Can’t you act a little more ladylike?”
“Of course I can.” Tan Hua immediately dropped her voice into a sugary tone, leaning in flirtatiously.
“President Sheng~ This coffee~ It’s a token of my affection. Surely you won’t waste it, will you?”
Sheng Yiheng: “…”
She looked down at Tan Hua’s obviously exaggerated behavior and flatly said,
“Just put it down.”
She sidestepped to avoid her, and Tan Hua gave her a sly glance before obediently placing the coffee on the table.
“President Sheng, any other instructions?”
After all, Sheng Yiheng had paid real money—it wasn’t as if she brought her into the company just to be a decorative vase. Tan Hua was curious what kind of emotional feedback this icy CEO expected from a stand-in.
“Take off your clothes.”
Sheng Yiheng’s sharp, defined features slightly tensed. Her gaze burned with a pressure that made it hard to breathe.
Tan Hua froze. Her hand flew up to cover her chest.
…Was this really happening?
In broad daylight? This dignified, proper CEO was actually saying something this… animalistic?
Tan Hua hesitated. It wasn’t that she couldn’t do it—it just seemed… a bit sudden?
She studied Sheng Yiheng for a moment, surprised by the gap between her upright appearance and her surprisingly wild private inclinations.
So she’s into extreme thrills, huh?
Tan Hua gave Sheng Yiheng a long, sweeping glance. That sharp, perfectly sculpted face… the slender but powerful waist and hips… those strong, veined arms that looked both fierce and reassuring—
Jackpot!
Tan Hua began stripping so quickly the system couldn’t even stop her in time.
Sheng Yiheng, who had originally wanted to see Tan Hua flustered, maybe even tearfully begging for mercy, was completely thrown off when Tan Hua started undressing with hunger in her eyes like she was ready to pounce.
The icy mask on Sheng Yiheng’s face cracked into pure confusion.
“?”
Why did she suddenly feel like she was the innocent young lady being cornered by some depraved thug?
Like a delicate flower about to be cruelly ravaged by a rogue in disguise?
