The Five Heartless Scumbag Alphas Turned Against Each Other Because Of Me - Chapter 13
Tan Hua had just enthusiastically pulled off her light outer jacket in a few quick movements. As she was about to proceed with the next step of undressing, a long, firm hand pressed down on her shoulder, stopping her.
She blinked, confused, her clear and captivating eyes full of bewilderment. Didn’t you just tell me to undress? Why the sudden change of heart?
“No need,” Sheng Yiheng said coldly, watching her without emotion. “This is enough.”
Enough? Tan Hua looked even more confused. We haven’t even started.
She gave Sheng Yiheng a once-over, her gaze openly questioning: Are you backing out now? Can’t handle the heat?
Unwilling to give in so easily, Tan Hua tried to resist the hand holding her in place—but Sheng Yiheng’s grip was strong, leaving her with no choice but to halt her actions and think seriously.
“System-baby,” she muttered, “do you think she’s just… pretending?”
The system perked up, tense and attentive. Tan Hua thought hard, then finally said,
“Is she pretending to be all chaste and reserved?”
“I mean, Cheng Yuan’s not even here. Is there any point in her putting on this whole pure act for me—HEY! Why did you shock me?!”
She glared furiously at the system.
Under Tan Hua’s murderous gaze, the system tried to stay calm.
“Host, please refrain from maliciously misinterpreting the target’s personality.”
“Sheng Yiheng still has a personality worth defending?” Tan Hua scoffed.
“She’s the one running around behind Cheng Yuan’s back, hiring stand-ins for secret office flings—and you think she’s some paragon of virtue—”
Sensing the system was about to zap her again, Tan Hua shut her mouth just in time and shifted her attention back to Sheng Yiheng.
“President Sheng,” she said pitifully, her voice soft and sweet enough to melt bones,
“Did I not do something right? Is that why…”
She lowered her eyes, her thick lashes fanning downward, hiding the flat calm in her gaze.
“…Why you’re so disappointed in me?” she said in a tremulous whisper, as if about to cry from the cold rejection of an unfeeling Alpha.
Sheng Yiheng was silent for a long time before finally responding,
“No.”
She let go of Tan Hua’s shoulder and took two steps back. With practiced ease, she pulled a pack of slim cigarettes from her pocket, lit one, and took a long drag.
The swirling smoke curled around her as she regarded Tan Hua with an unreadable expression.
To be honest, today’s Omega felt completely different from the one she met the other day. Despite Tan Hua having hidden her true intentions quite well back then, someone as seasoned as Sheng Yiheng had still caught the fleeting glimmer of greed in her eyes.
It was a look she’d seen countless times—the kind that spoke of desire for her status and wealth, just like everyone else.
Everyone wanted to be Mrs. Sheng. Even if they feared her, that fear was always secondary to ambition. After all, people die for wealth, just like birds for food.
But today’s Tan Hua felt like a completely different person.
Not only was she unafraid of her, she’d practically thrown herself into Sheng Yiheng’s arms, as if daring the entire company to acknowledge their ambiguous relationship. Sheng had once suspected she was just too deep into her role—but now, she was certain:
No. This wasn’t acting.
This was her true self. That timid, frightened girl from last time had been nothing but an act—an illusion created deliberately for Sheng Yiheng to see.
As for the intentions so easy to read in her eyes? Sheng Yiheng inhaled deeply, her brows furrowing. For the first time, she wasn’t sure which aspect this woman was more after—her beauty, or her wealth and power.
Either way, it felt like she’d paid money to invite a wolf into her house.
Troublesome.
She smoked slowly, her gaze darkening and falling repeatedly on Tan Hua like a predator sizing up a threat.
Tan Hua, watching her through the smoke, grew increasingly confused. We didn’t even get started—why is she already smoking like we just finished?
Chin in hand, she muttered, “System-boy, you think Sheng Yiheng, the big bad Alpha… maybe she’s just… not up to it—HEY! Zap me again and I’ll—!”
Tan Hua was furious.
Sheng Yiheng, unaware of the system’s antics, only saw Tan Hua’s expression suddenly twist—beautiful and composed one moment, irritated and furious the next.
Is it because her “bold seduction” failed?
Sheng Yiheng hesitated.
Her fingers holding the cigarette twitched slightly before she abruptly stepped away from the table she’d been leaning against.
“Get some rest,” she said flatly, and turned to leave.
If I can’t handle her, at least I can escape her.
Tan Hua stared after her, utterly lost. She stood up instinctively, chasing after her.
“President Sheng, wait!”
We haven’t even held hands yet—why are you bailing already?!
“President Sheng,” Tan Hua called out pitifully, trailing behind her. Hearing this, Sheng Yiheng quickened her pace.
Tan Hua picked up her own, her voice trembling as she pleaded from behind,
“Please tell me what I did wrong! I’ll fix it immediately!”
“I promise I’ll make you happy!”
Her voice stopped short at a certain point, no longer moving closer. Sheng Yiheng hesitated and finally turned around.
“It’s nothing,” she said, uncharacteristically patient.
“I just have work to do. You’re free to do as you please.”
With that, she walked away decisively, ignoring Tan Hua’s tearful calls as she vanished from view.
Tan Hua noticed the disdainful, mocking, and gloating looks being thrown her way from the neighboring secretary’s office. Unbothered, she slowly straightened her back, lifted her chin, and calmly closed the door behind her.
Though it pained her to see a prime specimen of a beautiful, scummy Alpha fly right out of her grasp, it only confirmed what she had suspected: Sheng Yiheng had never seen her as anything more than a decorative ornament. Something to keep around for amusement—a little mood enhancer for dull moments.
But for someone like Sheng Yiheng, a woman of steely willpower who had clearly decided to remain chaste for another woman, Tan Hua wasn’t in a rush.
After slipping back into her jacket in the break room, she yawned and decided to take a nap on the wide two-meter bed. She had another stand-in gig later in the evening—why waste the chance to rest?
She needed to recharge if she wanted to handle the next lucky soul who had picked her.
Meanwhile, Sheng Yiheng returned to her office at a brisk pace and sat down in her executive chair, still feeling a bit rattled. She wasn’t unfamiliar with women trying to get into her bed—but someone like Tan Hua, who was so direct in her lust for her body? That was a first.
Tan Hua’s eyes had been barefaced and blazing hot, and for a moment, Sheng Yiheng truly didn’t know how to respond.
Out of habit, she raised her hand to take a puff from a cigarette—but just as the filter touched her lips, she paused, then scowled and crushed it out in the ashtray without taking a single drag.
Then, she called in her most trusted assistant. Her voice was cold and flat as she gave the order:
“Keep an eye on Tan Hua. I want a full report on everything she does in this company. No details omitted.”
The assistant, ever expressionless and proper, nodded. “Understood, President Sheng.”
Tan Hua slept for nearly two full hours. When she finally woke up, she stretched lazily, smoothed out her appearance, and exited the break room, returning to her desk in the secretary’s office.
With nothing urgent to do, she confirmed her evening schedule with the system and, growing bored, started scrolling on her phone.
The office floor was quiet—everyone absorbed in their own work. Sheng Yiheng, after replying to one email, paused before opening the next. Something tugged at her attention. She called her assistant back in and casually asked,
“She hasn’t come out yet?”
“She has,” the assistant replied dutifully.
Sheng Yiheng raised her brow. “Then what has she been doing all afternoon so quietly?”
She had a feeling Tan Hua wasn’t the type to just let things go. There was no solid evidence—just a strong, time-tested sixth sense honed by years of dealing with difficult women.
The assistant hesitated for the first time. Under Sheng Yiheng’s sharp stare, she reluctantly answered,
“Secretary Tan has been… watching borderline Alpha content… all afternoon.”
Sheng Yiheng: “?”
She thought she’d misheard—but when she saw her assistant’s awkward, strained expression, she realized her ears weren’t lying.
Her eyelid twitched. “Call her in.”
The assistant turned to go, but Sheng Yiheng suddenly changed her mind.
“Forget it. Let her be.”
At least she’s not scheming about how to jump me again.
The assistant blinked in confusion but didn’t ask anything, simply retreating in silence.
Sheng Yiheng raised a hand to rub her temple, emotions in disarray. She never should’ve trusted Tan Hua. She’d let a few slick lines convince her to pursue this ridiculous stand-in idea.
This wasn’t a relaxing distraction—it was a live grenade.
Unpredictable. Volatile. A potential explosion at any moment.
Her fingertips tapped the desk rhythmically as she fell into deep thought.
Tan Hua, meanwhile, was completely unaware that she was now being regarded as a dangerous, high-risk hazard. She shut down her video app with a tired sigh.
“Looks good, sure—but after a whole afternoon, my brain’s fried.”
The system rolled its eyes. No one told you to binge all day.
And it wasn’t just watching, it wanted to add. You even threw down tips like you were made of money. Now the Alpha streamers in that room won’t shut up calling you “Sister Hua,” and people from outside the stream—men, women, even the elderly—are flooding your inbox with private pics.
The system was seriously starting to suspect she was doing it on purpose—but it had no proof.
Tan Hua checked the time, pleased.
“Good thing work’s almost over. I get to see Lu Huaixu soon.”
Someone really ought to let him whip you, the system grumbled silently. But then it heard Tan Hua whisper, voice tinged with anticipation and excitement,
“This is going to be so fun!”
System: “…”
It had been hoping Lu Huaixu would discipline her—now it worried she’d enjoy it. Honestly, being an AI in this day and age was just suffering.
Tan Hua’s whole evening had been booked by Lu Huaixu. Maybe it was because they’d been interrupted yesterday right when things got heated, or maybe it was revenge for the bite she’d given him on his gland—either way, he clearly planned to “handle” her properly tonight.
But whatever the reason, Tan Hua was visibly eager.
Lu Huaixu’s endless tricks had only made her more curious—and to be fair, they also perfectly catered to her more… niche tastes.
By 5:59 PM, she already had her little purse in hand, ready to dash out the second the clock hit 6:00. Sheng Yiheng narrowed her eyes as she watched that barely-contained eagerness on Tan Hua’s face.
Running off that fast—who was she going to meet?
That weak little Alpha from lunch? The one who looked barely older than a kid—probably didn’t even have a foot size larger than hers?
