The Five Heartless Scumbag Alphas Turned Against Each Other Because Of Me - Chapter 15
Tan Hua tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her cheeks glowing with shy anticipation.
Lu Huaixu watched her in silence, her expression darkening as she took a slow step forward. From above, warm breath brushed over the scent gland on Tan Hua’s neck.
That spot was incredibly sensitive—just a breeze could send tingles down an Omega’s spine. But the searing heat of an Alpha’s breath? That was something else entirely.
Tan Hua’s body immediately went weak. Her arms trembled, barely able to support her on the bed.
She turned her head slightly and asked with uncertainty, “President Lu?”
Lu Huaixu gripped the struggling Omega tightly, her emotions bubbling up like a storm she could no longer hold back.
The faint, sweet scent of camellia clung to the air, lingering stubbornly around her. It invaded her senses, impossible to ignore.
The fire that scent sparked in her cells made her restless. Lu Huaixu fought hard to keep her instincts in check—resisting the almost overwhelming urge to bite down on the most vulnerable part of Tan Hua.
Is she in heat? Lu Huaixu’s face turned cold as suspicion filled her eyes. An Omega’s pheromones during heat were incredibly dangerous to an Alpha. There was no way Tan Hua didn’t know that.
Within seconds, countless thoughts raced through her mind. Her eyes darkened. Then, gathering what remained of her control, Lu Huaixu pushed Tan Hua away and took several deep breaths of fresh air.
Caught off guard, Tan Hua fell backward, momentarily confused. But soon, she assumed it was just another one of Lu Huaixu’s teasing tricks. Just as she was about to play along, she noticed Lu Huaixu’s cold expression and the distant look in her eyes.
There was a trace of something else too—wariness, maybe even distrust.
Tan Hua blinked. What just happened? Did I do something wrong?
She began to think carefully, then subtly looked Lu Huaixu over from head to toe. Could it be… that Alphas have heat cycles too? Mood swings? Irritability?
That doesn’t sound right…
Her eyes, full of confusion and innocence, locked onto Lu Huaixu’s. But in Lu Huaixu’s eyes, that innocent look felt like something entirely different.
Lu Huaixu stood straight, her gaze cold and distant. She was no longer the same person who, just moments ago, looked like she was ready to tear Tan Hua apart.
Tan Hua was lost. She hesitated, then nervously reached out and gently hooked her pinky around Lu Huaixu’s. In a soft, uncertain voice, she asked, “President Lu… did I upset you somehow?”
Her tone was timid, her eyes wide and full of uncertainty. Lu Huaixu stared at her, unmoved. Her lips curled into a faint, emotionless smile.
“Yes.”
She didn’t hesitate. She said it directly.
Tan Hua was stunned. What?! I really made her mad?
She fell silent, quickly going over everything that had happened. They’d only been together for about a minute. She’d said a couple of things, joked about money… and that was it. She hadn’t even done anything serious!
Lowering her head in disappointment, Tan Hua mumbled, “Is it because I’m an Omega… that you’re upset?”
“Do you prefer Betas? Or Alphas? I can pay a fortune for surgery and get it changed.” Her tone was serious. “I’ll schedule it tonight—no, I’ll go the moment the hospital opens in the morning.”
Lu Huaixu looked at her for a long moment, then gently pulled her hand back.
“…There’s no need.”
She was no longer in the mood to flirt. Without another word, she turned and walked out of the room.
Tan Hua hesitated, frustration rising in her chest. How is this possible?! I was this close—and she still slipped away?
“President Lu! Wait for me!” she called out and quickly ran after her. But when Lu Huaixu suddenly stopped, Tan Hua couldn’t react in time and crashed into her back.
The impact made her nose sting, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Lu Huaixu turned around and said coldly, “You don’t need to follow me.”
Tan Hua covered her nose, her expression lost and unsure. “But… didn’t you just want to…”
Before she could finish, Lu Huaixu cut her off. “If you want to follow me, fine.”
She turned and leaned slightly toward Tan Hua, smiling like a proper lady—but with a cruel, unsettling edge. The kind of smile that sent a chill down your spine.
And somehow, the more polite and controlled Lu Huaixu looked, the more Tan Hua liked her.
Without thinking, she asked, “Then… what do you want me to do?”
“There,” Lu Huaixu said, pointing to the center of the room beneath the giant crystal chandelier.
Tan Hua followed her gaze and froze. Wait… she wants me to do that kind of thing… in that spot?
She looked back at Lu Huaixu, clearly embarrassed. That doesn’t seem very appropriate… Especially with all these people around.
Lu Huaixu caught her awkward expression and immediately realized the misunderstanding. This time, she didn’t bother to keep up Tan Hua’s romantic illusions. Her voice was sharp, cutting through the moment:
“Dance.”
Tan Hua: “???”
Dance? At night? In this outfit? And with handcuffs on?
You’re really going to make me dance for your entertainment like this?!
Tan Hua was fuming. She shot a deadly glare at Lu Huaixu. Just then, the system popped up with a cautious reminder:
“Host, don’t forget about the five million.”
Tan Hua’s fierce expression instantly softened. She was still smiling, but her tone was laced with unmistakable resentment as she forced out, “Fine.”
“Great. I’ll go right now.”
She stepped barefoot onto the floor, still full of misplaced confidence, and asked Lu Huaixu, “The five million—still counts, right?”
Lu Huaixu looked at her like she’d lost her mind. “What made you think you’d earn five million just by dancing for a night?”
“Why not?” Tan Hua countered, not backing down. “Do you know any respectable Omega who would dress like this just to dance for you?” She barely held back the urge to roll her eyes. “And besides, you were the one who insisted on being pure and chaste tonight. You passed up your own opportunity.”
How is that my fault?
Lu Huaixu’s expression became complicated. So Tan Hua did realize she wasn’t exactly a ‘proper’ Omega?
“President Lu,” Tan Hua narrowed her eyes at her, voice slow and deliberate, “you’re not going to go back on your word, are you?”
“A promise is a promise. Even four horses can’t chase it down.”
“You’re a grown woman. Don’t tell me you’re going to play dirty now?”
She’d already thrown away her pride to dance for the entire Lu family. What more did Lu Huaixu want from her?
In the end, after much back-and-forth, Tan Hua settled for a modest payment: 2.5 million.
Wearing handcuffs and no shoes, she stood under the grand crystal chandelier and began to dance. It wasn’t until she moved that she realized—
She really did look like a total idiot.
There were supposed to be steamy curtains, a passionate night, sparks flying in the dark—but in the end, she’d become Lu Huaixu’s dinner entertainment.
Tan Hua sobbed in her heart and whispered to the system,
“System-baby, my life is so bitter… It’s worse than that iced Americano the poor office workers choke down at 5 a.m.!”
She kept dancing despite her complaints, every movement carefully seductive—even though Lu Huaixu remained completely unfazed.
The system was on edge. Is she really able to cry her heart out and still seduce someone at the same time? What kind of multitasking monster is she?
“Should I bring someone in to save you?” the system offered tentatively. “If a guest arrives, maybe Lu Huaixu will stop making you embarrass yourself.”
Tan Hua ignored the insult and quickly agreed, “Yes! Hurry up!”
While the system got to work, Tan Hua stopped dancing. When she noticed Lu Huaixu watching, she licked her lips and said cautiously, “I’m tired.” Then, without meaning to, her eyes drifted toward the delicious-looking dishes on the table. “And… I’m hungry too.”
Her eyes met Lu Huaixu’s, and she fully expected her to soften and offer her a bite to eat. But instead, Lu Huaixu calmly raised a hand and pointed to the piano.
“Sit there.”
Tan Hua looked at the piano. Then at Lu Huaixu. “…Excuse me?”
This woman has no soul.
After dragging her feet over to the bench, Tan Hua channeled her rage into action. She gritted her teeth and played The Moon Reflected in Erquan Spring for a full thirty minutes straight.
Lu Huaixu was nearly too miserable to eat, and finally asked—politely—if she could play something else.
Without even looking up, Tan Hua answered flatly, “Can’t. I only know this one.”
Lu Huaixu: “…”
She watched Tan Hua play with a kind of barely-concealed fury, looking as if she were about to break the piano in two. Lu Huaixu couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
Her eyes softened slightly, and the coldness on her face melted with that faint chuckle.
Tan Hua didn’t see it—and maybe it was better that way. She was already pushing her limits for that 2.5 million. If not for the money, she would’ve flipped the entire table by now.
“Come eat,” Lu Huaixu finally said, mercifully.
Tan Hua, still facing the piano, didn’t lift her head. “Not hungry anymore. Already starved past the point of hunger. You eat by yourself.”
Now she’s being dramatic.
Lu Huaixu put her utensils down, her tone sharpening with a hint of command.
“Tan Hua. Come here.”
When an Alpha deliberately exuded pressure, it became hard to resist. Tan Hua’s fingers trembled, and she hit a wrong note—but she still didn’t move.
“I really don’t want to eat,” she said softly.
She kept her head down, focused on the keys, but her eyes flicked up, watching Lu Huaixu’s reflection in the window glass.
The system: “…Here we go again.”
She’s baiting Lu Huaixu again.
The system was losing hope and frantically urged its backup plan to hurry.
Lu Huaixu’s gaze remained calm as she watched Tan Hua’s back. There was a smoldering tension behind her eyes. Tan Hua’s heart pounded—both out of fear and anticipation. She was betting on her defiance sparking something reckless in Lu Huaixu, hoping she’d finally lose control and just grab her.
But the eruption never came.
Instead, the housekeeper—completely unmoved by Tan Hua’s delicate beauty—marched over and yanked her off the piano bench, dragging her straight to the dining table.
And right then, a completely unexpected visitor burst through the door.
Zheng Jinyu had come by to speak with Lu Huaixu, but when her eyes landed on Tan Hua—barefoot, cuffed, and dressed in something that screamed forbidden desire—she froze.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, stunned.
“Me?” Tan Hua rubbed her sore fingers and snapped irritably, “What else could I be doing here? Obviously, I’m being some rich person’s plaything. Shocking, isn’t it?”
Zheng Jinyu paused, her brows knitting tightly together. Her eyes moved from Tan Hua to Lu Huaixu, suddenly filled with complicated emotion—and disapproval.
After a long moment of silence, she walked toward Tan Hua, removed her own coat, and wrapped it tightly around her.
Tan Hua glanced at her, then looked back at Lu Huaixu. Her lips curled into a cold smile as she said, without giving Zheng Jinyu any face at all:
“President Zheng, what are you pretending to be now? The kind-hearted savior?”
Lu Huaixu, who had stayed out of it so far, suddenly narrowed her eyes.
“Did you know each other?”
