The Five Heartless Scumbag Alphas Turned Against Each Other Because Of Me - Chapter 20
Alphas, it seemed, didn’t know the meaning of giving up.
Tan Hua glanced at Zheng Jinyu with mild confusion. After a moment of thought, she answered her, for once, kindly:
“No, I don’t.”
There were maybe two or three clients—definitely not enough to qualify as “a lot,” as Zheng Jinyu had implied.
Surprisingly, even Zheng Jinyu herself hadn’t expected to feel such relief at hearing that answer. It was instinctive—the breath she let out, unbidden, and undeniable.
But almost immediately, she tensed again, afraid Tan Hua had noticed her moment of weakness. She stole a glance at the Omega—only to meet her gaze, eyes full of amusement.
Her mind went blank with a sharp buzz. But she quickly composed herself and pretended nothing had happened, calmly focusing on driving again.
Tan Hua watched her with a quiet smile, and Zheng Jinyu had no idea what she was smiling about.
Whatever it was, it couldn’t be good. So she didn’t ask.
The place Zheng Jinyu brought Tan Hua to wasn’t her main residence—just one of the properties under her name. In fact, she had never actually lived there herself.
It was only after the system explained that Tan Hua realized this was the house Zheng Jinyu had prepared for the original host to safely endure her heat cycles. But in order to maintain her “pure and noble” image, the original host had stubbornly refused to use it, not even once.
Tan Hua looked around—it was spacious, tastefully decorated, and clearly expensive. Zheng Jinyu had spared no expense.
“Your room is still the one I mentioned before,” Zheng Jinyu said softly, standing at the doorway.
Tan Hua stopped inspecting the house and asked, “Which one?”
Zheng Jinyu froze.
Tan Hua didn’t avoid her gaze; she genuinely didn’t know—after all, she’d never been here before.
There was a pause, and then Zheng Jinyu simply turned and led her upstairs.
It was the master bedroom, complete with a private walk-in closet, study, and en-suite bath. Tan Hua glanced around and looked very pleased. She then turned back and gestured toward Zheng Jinyu, expecting her to leave.
But Zheng Jinyu didn’t move.
They stared at each other for a moment before Tan Hua finally spoke plainly:
“You’re not leaving?”
Zheng Jinyu frowned. “Do you want me to?”
Well, yes?
Are you planning to sleep here with me or something?
Tan Hua was momentarily speechless. Then, with a sudden step forward, she leaned in close. Her delicate face tilted upward slightly, eyes half-lidded and seductive, voice soft and teasing:
“I’m only thinking of your well-being.”
“You’re worried your pheromones might affect me?” Zheng Jinyu asked, unsure.
Tan Hua gave her a look that clearly said, What do you think?
Zheng Jinyu considered for a second. “Wait here.”
She turned and left, returning shortly with a small medical kit. Before Tan Hua could react, Zheng Jinyu was already preparing an injection.
The moment she grabbed Tan Hua’s arm and jabbed the needle in, Tan Hua flinched.
“Hey—!”
Couldn’t she give a warning first?
A sharp sting pricked her arm. Tan Hua furrowed her brows.
Zheng Jinyu immediately tried to soothe her. “Just a little more. Hold on.”
She then opened a small vial of suppressant, took Tan Hua’s other hand, and slowly injected it as well.
Tan Hua was stunned.
“…”
Who gives two rounds of suppressants before the Omega even goes into heat?
She couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief. “Seems like your self-control isn’t quite as strong as I thought.”
Her tone turned sharp, her gaze suddenly aggressive and piercing.
“So what is this, President Zheng? Are you afraid you’ll lose control? That you’ll end up marking me under the influence of my scent?”
She raised her arm and looked at the two fresh puncture marks. Her voice dripped with sarcasm:
“You really went through all that trouble, huh.”
Zheng Jinyu’s lips pressed into a line. “That’s not it.”
She tried to explain:
“There are other Omega families nearby. I was worried they might pose a danger to you.”
Tan Hua’s expression made it clear she didn’t believe a word of it.
She looked at her like she was full of nonsense.
Zheng Jinyu, out of excuses, could only mumble stiffly:
“I won’t mark you.”
“I know,” Tan Hua said, nodding slightly as her words fell in sync with the sound of the door shutting behind her.
“After all, the sun and moon that haunt your every thought have always been Cheng Yuan—not someone as cheap and lowly as me, a mere flicker of firefly light.”
“Huahua…” Zheng Jinyu raised her hand, but before she could even reach out, the door slammed shut—cutting her off coldly, leaving her outside.
She stood there, stunned.
It took a long moment for her to recover from the shock of such vastly different treatment than what she’d once been used to.
What the hell is happening? she thought, half in disbelief.
The woman who had always been in control now found herself helplessly shut out—emotionally, physically, completely—by the very Omega she had once kept firmly under her thumb.
Zheng Jinyu had no idea where things had started to go wrong.
All she knew was… this Omega had become far too sharp, too cold, and impossibly indifferent. She had no way of dealing with her anymore.
While Zheng Jinyu was left standing frozen in the hallway, Tan Hua, on the other side of the door, fell asleep quite peacefully.
The heat she’d expected didn’t come that night. Maybe those two suppressants Zheng Jinyu injected really had worked.
Even a full night later, Tan Hua still felt that what Zheng Jinyu had done was borderline deranged.
She looked so gentle, so harmless on the surface…
But once she made a move, it was enough to make your heart tremble.
Tan Hua had serious suspicions that Zheng Jinyu was a classic hidden predator—sweet on the outside, lethal underneath.
But she had no proof.
After a good night’s rest, the pain in her ankle was gone. She washed up briefly, opened the door, and found Zheng Jinyu already awake, seated downstairs in the living room, working.
Hearing the door, Zheng Jinyu looked up.
“Come eat breakfast.”
“No, thanks.”
Tan Hua wasn’t planning to waste more time lingering here. She’d already taken a day off from Sheng Yiheng, but she had other business to attend to—like scouting new sugar daddies.
There was still one particularly rich fool who hadn’t shown up again. She needed to dig around and find him.
After all, the more people she could milk, the more money she’d make.
And who in their right mind would ever turn down money?
The air around Zheng Jinyu instantly turned cold after Tan Hua’s refusal. Her displeasure as an Alpha showed clearly on her face.
To any other Omega, she might’ve looked intimidating like this. But to Tan Hua?
Tan Hua simply smiled sweetly, stepped forward slowly, and closed the distance between them until she was standing incredibly close—closer than ever before. Her red lips parted as she whispered with intoxicating warmth:
“You don’t want me to leave, do you?”
Zheng Jinyu froze under the sudden intimacy, her body stiff, too afraid to move.
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught Tan Hua’s reflection in the laptop screen—beautiful, seductive, like a siren.
Tan Hua tilted her head, her warm breath brushing against Zheng Jinyu’s ear as she spoke, voice slow and silky with deliberate allure:
“Then say it. Ask me to stay, Zheng Jinyu.”
“If I ask you…, will you stay?”
The words slipped out before Zheng Jinyu even realized it—and by then, it was too late.
She’d walked straight into her trap.
Her lips instantly pressed into a hard line. She said nothing more.
“If you don’t try, how will you ever know the answer?”
Tan Hua’s voice was low and coaxing.
“President Zheng, don’t you already know, deep down?”
Her fingers—soft, warm, and boneless—traced lightly to Zheng Jinyu’s chest, gently tapping once over her heart.
“As long as you’re willing to pay, you can keep doing whatever you want to me, just like before.”
“No—” her tone dropped, darker, sweeter, more dangerous.
“You could go even further than before.”
Her hand slid up to caress Zheng Jinyu’s face—so tender, yet visibly taut with tension.
“You could be like Lu Huaixu.”
“And let me do the things you never dared imagine… and never dared ask for.”
