The Five Heartless Scumbag Alphas Turned Against Each Other Because Of Me - Chapter 25.1
Chapter 25
With Dai Yueqing diving into the water, the stillness around them broke. The surrounding Omegas had all turned pale from fright, staring anxiously at the splashing, flailing figure of Tan Hua, who looked like a giant moth caught in a storm. Their fingers clenched tight with worry.
Tan Hua wasn’t a strong swimmer—and even if she were, Dai Yueqing’s sudden leap might have scared the skill out of her.
As she struggled, water rushed into her nose and mouth. She choked and spluttered several times. Feeling increasingly uncomfortable, Tan Hua managed a strained smile and muttered to the system,
“You’d better have a good explanation for this. What kind of plot am I even walking into here?”
Being thrown into the water for no reason, playing the role of a soaked seductress in front of a crowd—did her reputation mean nothing anymore?
The system cleared its throat, clearly guilty. It didn’t even dare make a sound.
The struggling Omega began to weaken in the water, her movements slowing. Dai Yueqing quickly closed the distance and, with one swift motion, scooped her up by the waist and started swimming back.
“Are you alright?” she asked.
“Oh my god,” Tan Hua gasped, eyes wide, a faint sparkle dancing in them.
“The female lead’s mother’s voice is so beautiful…”
“I think I’m about to—”
ZAP!
The system zapped her before she could finish the sentence.
Tan Hua, in a good mood despite everything, let it slide. She kept her eyes glued to Dai Yueqing. Unlike most gentle-looking women, Dai Yueqing had bold, striking features and an air of heroism that was impossible to ignore.
She was stunning—radiating the commanding presence of a general, yet wrapped in the warmth and kindness of a nurturing elder. It was hard not to be impressed.
“You okay?” Dai Yueqing glanced down at the Omega she was holding and noticed Tan Hua staring straight at her, seemingly stunned.
Her expression softened. She gently reassured her,
“Don’t be scared. I’ll get you out of the water right away.”
With that, the two of them reached the edge of the pool. Dai Yueqing gave a slight push, easily lifting Tan Hua up and out. Standing nearby, Cheng Shulan reached out and pulled her up onto the pool deck without much effort.
Tan Hua was soaked from head to toe, looking like a drowned puppy. Her once perfectly styled hair was a mess, plastered against her pale skin, the tips dripping continuously. Her light lavender gown, no longer ethereal and flowing, now clung tightly to her curves, outlining every part of her delicate figure.
She opened her mouth to thank Dai Yueqing, but before she could get a word out—
“You actually jumped in to save her?!” Cheng Shulan snapped.
The Beta’s tone was incredulous. “And right in front of me!”
“Why shouldn’t I save her?” Dai Yueqing replied, completely bewildered. “That’s a life, for heaven’s sake. You wanted me to just stand by and watch?”
“Look at her—those skinny arms and legs. Does she look like someone who can swim back on her own? If I didn’t act, she would’ve drowned in two minutes!”
“Don’t give me that,” Cheng Shulan fumed. “You just wanted to flirt with her!”
“You’re my woman—you couldn’t have just asked me to jump in and save her?!”
“I swim better than you,” Dai Yueqing replied flatly.
“My woman? Don’t start this nonsense in public,” she added with a frown, glaring at Cheng Shulan, who was clearly just picking a fight for no reason.
Cheng Shulan felt wronged but couldn’t out-argue her, so he ended up glaring fiercely at the poor, innocent Omega on the side.
Tan Hua: “………”
This is ridiculous.
Why are the female lead’s parents arguing right in front of me after saving me?
Her eye twitched slightly. She forced an awkward smile at Cheng Shulan’s glare and was just about to say “thank you” when a jacket suddenly fell onto her shoulders.
She looked up—well, now this was unexpected.
Lu Huaixu had taken off her own jacket and draped it over Tan Hua to shield her from the intrusive, lustful gazes of others. Then, seeing her pathetic, drenched state, she lifted Tan Hua into her arms without a word, intending to carry her away but was stopped by Dai Yueqing.
“What are you doing?”
The Beta stretched out her arm, blocking Lu Huaixu’s path.
“Put her down.”
Tan Hua hadn’t expected the female lead’s mother to be this enthusiastic—overenthusiastic, really—so she quickly tried to explain:
“Mrs. Cheng, it’s alright. We know each other.”
“You know each other? That’s still no excuse,” Dai Yueqing said sternly. “You’re an Omega, she’s an Alpha—AOs should maintain propriety. You two aren’t married, and yet here you are, in such close contact in public?”
“This isn’t good for your reputation.”
Her words immediately reminded Tan Hua of the rigid moral codes in this world. She hesitated. For a moment, she really did consider asking Lu Huaixu to set her down.
But before she could say anything, Lu Huaixu had already cast Dai Yueqing a cool glance and, without a word, barreled past her with Tan Hua still in her arms.
It was the picture of utter defiance—like she didn’t even see Dai Yueqing as an obstacle.
Cheng Shulan’s eyes widened in shock. You dare embarrass my wife in public?
She immediately moved to give chase, but Dai Yueqing reached out to stop her, shaking her head slightly. Her voice held a trace of wariness:
“That’s Lu Huaixu.”
“Lu Huaixu? I don’t care if she’s the damn Heavenly King today—she’s still in the wrong!” Cheng Shulan said expressionlessly, stubborn as ever as she pushed past.
Dai Yueqing sighed. She had no choice but to follow along.
This Omega seemed fated to be in her life—might as well keep an eye on her for a bit. It wouldn’t hurt.
Meanwhile, Tan Hua—witnessing Lu Huaixu’s blatant disregard for the female lead’s parents—felt her heart thump wildly.
So cool.
But the moment she recalled how Lu Huaixu had earlier just sat still like a statue, that brilliant glow around her dimmed a bit.
Zheng Jinyu and Sheng Yiheng arrived at that moment, emerging from the crowd. Tan Hua looked at them, her tone laced with mockery:
“Well, look who finally decided to show up.”
Sheng Yiheng raised her brows, not entirely sure what she’d done to deserve such shade. Only Zheng Jinyu looked apologetic.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t react fast enough earlier,” she said, her tone sincere.
That honest apology made Sheng Yiheng whip her head around with a sharp snap, her brows furrowed.
My stand-in, why are you kneeling and apologizing this fast?
Are you trying to make me look bad in front of her on purpose?
Sheng Yiheng wasn’t one to back down easily. She quickly followed up,
“She’s right. It all happened so suddenly—none of us had time to react.”
Then, as if suddenly remembering, she added with a touch of concern,
“Are you alright?”
Tan Hua was speechless. She pointed at herself.
“Do I look alright to you?”
“You do,” Sheng Yiheng said earnestly, nodding. Her tone took on an odd edge.
“You looked very comfortable, being carried like that.”
Tan Hua froze for half a second, then immediately grabbed onto Lu Huaixu’s freshly pressed white shirt, feigning fear and distress.
“I slipped and fell into the water, and everyone was just staring at me. Only President Lu had the presence of mind to offer me a coat,” she said with righteous indignation, glaring at Sheng Yiheng.
“President Lu is the very picture of a gentleman—graceful and courteous.”
“Her?” Sheng Yiheng couldn’t help but scoff. Gentleman? Graceful? Courteous?
Those words and Lu Huaixu didn’t belong in the same universe. Sheng Yiheng still hadn’t forgiven her for that time years ago when she took startup money from an old man and nearly lost everything in the first week thanks to Lu Huaixu’s scam—left with nothing but the shirt on her back.
Just thinking about it made her grind her teeth, shooting Lu Huaixu a venomous glare.
Tan Hua, unaware of the history between them, didn’t care either way. Her interest in these Alphas only went as deep as their wallets.
Lu Huaixu was generous, and right now, Tan Hua’s time belonged to her. So, naturally, she didn’t hesitate to take her side.
“Of course President Lu is a good person.”
She ran out of words after that—but somehow, both Sheng Yiheng and Zheng Jinyu felt like she was subtly throwing shade at them.
Zheng Jinyu looked like she wanted to speak but held back. There were too many people around. In the end, she stayed quiet.
Lu Huaixu, meanwhile, looked visibly pleased by Tan Hua’s loyalty. The cold lines of her face softened noticeably.
Following behind the three Alphas, Cheng Shulan leaned toward Dai Yueqing and whispered,
“Can you tell what the deal is between those four?”
“…” Dai Yueqing’s expression was blank.
“See less, hear less, mind your own business,” she replied calmly.
“Even if all four of them end up naked in bed together, it still has nothing to do with us,” she added helpfully.
If it were any ordinary people, that would be one thing—but these three Alphas were definitely not the type to be taken lightly.
They might look all friendly and easygoing on the surface right now, but which Alpha was ever truly “easy to get along with”?
You never knew when they’d flip the script, act like they don’t know you, and ruin your life so thoroughly you’d be left with a broken home and shattered dreams.
Cheng Shulan twitched at her wife’s bold, blunt words. She stared at Dai Yueqing seriously and said,
“I think the first thing we should do is… say less.”
Dai Yueqing immediately raised her fist.
“You telling me how to act now?”
Cheng Shulan instantly backed down, falling silent with a pitiful expression.
What kind of wife raises her fist every time she loses an argument? Savage woman…
Lu Huaixu soon found an empty room. When she gently set Tan Hua down, a staff member came by with clean, dry clothes—for both Tan Hua and Dai Yueqing.
Dai Yueqing took the garments and gave Lu Huaixu an extra glance, a little surprised by the Alpha’s thoughtfulness and consideration.
Just then, Cheng Shulan tugged at her wife’s drenched sleeve, dropping obvious hints.
“Let’s go. I’ll help you change.”
Dai Yueqing gave her a puzzled look at first, but the wet clothes were sticking uncomfortably to her skin, so she didn’t argue. Holding the fresh clothes, she stepped into the room next door.
Tan Hua, still in her soaked gown, looked at the three Alphas who had yet to move. She widened her eyes.
“You guys just gonna stand there while I get changed?”
As soon as she said that, Sheng Yiheng and Zheng Jinyu respectfully turned away and stepped outside.
Only Lu Huaixu didn’t move. She even gave Tan Hua a few meaningful glances—clearly in no rush to leave.
Tan Hua: “…”
Oh right, I forgot—Lu Huaixu’s a boundary-less lunatic.
Not only did she not avert her gaze like the other two, but if it weren’t for Cheng Yuan’s lingering moral weight in her heart, Tan Hua suspected Lu Huaixu would’ve gone right ahead and started helping her undress.
Considering all the weird, twisted things Lu Huaixu had done before, that wouldn’t even be the worst of it.
Eventually, though, even Lu Huaixu exited the room—she kept her distance, refraining from anything too intimate in front of Sheng Yiheng and Zheng Jinyu.
By the time Tan Hua had changed and tidied herself up, Lu Huaixu was nowhere to be seen.
