Can I still be saved? [Transmigration] - Chapter 39.2
On Sunday, after the bunk bed arrived, Su Yunjing took little tsundere to the store on his bicycle and bought him an oversized teddy bear.
After paying, Su Yunjing shoved the bear into Fu Hanzhou’s arms. “Here, hold it to sleep from now on. It’s much more comfortable than holding me.”
The salesgirl at the shop overheard and looked up at them.
The taller boy had his hair cut extremely short. His brows and eyes were finely carved and elegant, and beneath his straight nose was a pair of lips tinted with a strikingly vivid color.
The lines of his lips were delicate, like the texture of flower petals.
Hugging the big teddy bear, his long crow-feather lashes drooped, casting shadows into the depths of his dark eyes.
The boy next to him said softly, “Let’s go,” With that, he turned and walked ahead.
The taller boy followed behind, clutching the bear in his arms, and seemed to be in a very low mood, not saying a word.
The young shop assistant watching this scene nearly had her girlish heart explode. She especially wanted to reach out and ruffle that prickly short hair
Su Yunjing walked in front, Fu Hanzhou followed behind. The two of them were good-looking to begin with, and with the addition of a teddy bear, they became an instant attention magnet.
After leaving the store, Su Yunjing unlocked his bike with the key and led Fu Hanzhou home.
The little tsundere sat sideways on the back seat, holding the bear, his expression listless.
Su Yunjing couldn’t stand seeing him like that, and coaxed gently: “Didn’t I buy you the bear? It’s all soft anand squishy—won’t it be nice to hug at night?”
Fu Hanzhou said nothing. To anyone else, it would have looked like he had suffered some huge grievance.
“Want some milk tea?”
Fu Hanzhou stayed silent.
“Feel like eating something?”
Fu Hanzhou still didn’t respond.
Su Yunjing tried to keep the conversation going. “Then… how about I buy this big bear a few outfits? I saw that the store had some.”
The little tsundere still kept his lips pressed together, saying nothing.
Su Yunjing rambled on, “If you change its clothes every day, it’s basically like having a brand-new bear to sleep with every night. Isn’t that exciting?”
Though Fu Hanzhou still didn’t speak, he finally reacted, he slipped his cold hand inside Su Yunjing’s shirt.
Even through the thermal layer, Su Yunjing cried out dramatically, “Ah, ah—so cold!”
Fu Hanzhou continued to ignore him and was completely at odds with Su Yunjing.
….
In front of Guo Xiuhui and Wen Huaishan, he was always obedient and well-behaved, getting along with Su Yunjing like they were real brothers. But once they closed the bedroom door, he refused to say a single word.
Su Yunjing: Seriously? So hard.
That night, when Su Yunjing went to shower, he opened the wardrobe only to find his usual pajamas missing.
While wondering where they’d gone, he noticed the big teddy bear on Fu Hanzhou’s bed was wearing his pajamas.
Su Yunjing: “…”
Fu Hanzhou lay sprawled over the bear, long legs dangling carelessly off the bunk’s ladder. His skin was pale and cool as jade, making a stark contrast with the brown plush bear.
His brows were furrowed, as if something was gnawing at him.
Originally, Su Yunjing had intended for Fu Hanzhou to sleep on the bottom bunk, but for some reason he insisted on the top.
Seeing the sulking tsundere ‘online’, Su Yunjing couldn’t decide whether to laugh or sigh. He grabbed another set of pajamas and went off to shower.
When he came back out, Fu Hanzhou was still lying in the same position as before.
“Chuanchuan,” Su Yunjing called softly, poking at Fu Hanzhou’s waist.
The little tsundere has a ticklish spot there. When he was younger, just a touch would make him curl up like a boiled shrimp.
But now,he was still sulking, when Su Yunjing poked him, he stayed stiff and unmoving.
Su Yunjing raised a brow. Well, well—someone’s grown up.
He tugged Fu Hanzhou’s pajama hem aside and slipped his hand underneath, his long fingers closing around the hollow of his waist.
Fu Hanzhou’s waist wasn’t soft—Su Yunjing had never seen him work out, but his muscles were unexpectedly firm.
The strip of exposed waist and abdomen was lean and narrow, like a piece of jade peeled from silk, cool and crystalline.
And it felt a little cold to the touch.
When Su Yunjing’s palm pressed down, warmth seeped into his skin, sinking to the bone, making Fu Hanzhou’s heart jolt with a tremor.
Su Yunjing gave a light scratch, and Fu Hanzhou’s lower back immediately went weak, his body curling up uncontrollably.
When he turned his head, he bumped straight into Su Yunjing’s eyes—eyes shimmering with laughter.
“Still mad at me?”
Fu Hanzhou’s whole body suddenly froze.
He leaned down, moving in so close that his forehead almost touched Su Yunjing’s.
When he saw Su Yunjing subconsciously start to draw back, Fu Hanzhou grabbed his shoulder.
The two of them were very close, breathing in unison.
Fu Hanzhou stared into Su Yunjing’s brows and eyes, his throat moving as he swallowed, his jaw clenched hard.
Su Yunjing: Huh???
“Wasn’t it fine sleeping together at night? Why change the bed into this?” Fu Hanzhou asked urgently.
Su Yunjing put on a reasoning tone: “Look, it’s bunk beds now, doesn’t it feel more spacious in here?”
He understood the little cool boy, he had lost too much, and that’s why he was so insecure.
When he wasn’t familiar with you, he wouldn’t even spare you a glance.
But once he relied on you, he would bare himself completely, single-minded and devoted. That was why he drew so much affection and heartache from readers.
Since the female lead hadn’t appeared yet, Su Yunjing had become the only person Fu Hanzhou wanted to cling to.
Su Yunjing said in a soothing, patient tone,“You can sleep above me for now. Just poke your head down, and I’ll be right here below you. It’s no different from before.”
After venting his sulk, the little tsundere slipped back into his “willing-to-listen” mode.
With one glance downward, he really could see Su Yunjing. That much distance he could barely accept, but no farther.
Fu Hanzhou released him, nodded slightly, then rested his head back down on the big bear.
Su Yunjing couldn’t help but laugh.
It felt like Fu Hanzhou kept hopping back and forth between being a little tsundere and a little cool cub, always landing right on his soft spot.
…..
That night, Fu Hanzhou didn’t sleep very well. He woke countless times, each time lowering his head to glance at the person on the bed below.
The room was dim, Su Yunjing was wrapped in his blanket, his face blurred in the shadows.
Even though Fu Hanzhou could only make out his silhouette, that was enough to soothe him into lying back down in peace.
Because of the poor sleep, he didn’t wake up on time the next morning.
When Su Yunjing was already dressed, Fu Hanzhou was still sleeping with his head covered.
“Hanzhou, wake up,” Su Yunjing called with a yawn.
A small corner of the quilt was lifted, and a pair of black eyes peeked out from inside.
Fu Hanzhou was hugging the bear, half his face resting against its plush chest. His narrow phoenix eyes were hazy with sleep, looking as if he hadn’t fully woken.
Su Yunjing called him again, but instead of getting up, Fu Hanzhou tucked the quilt tighter and went back to sleep.
Su Yunjing: “…”
Seeing that he refused to wake, Su Yunjing didn’t push him. He went to wash up first.
When he stepped out of the bedroom, Guo Xiuhui was setting the bowls and chopsticks. “Breakfast is ready. Has Xiao Fu woken yet?”
Toothbrush in his mouth, Su Yunjing mumbled, “Not yet. He’s not used to the new bed, didn’t sleep well last night. I’ll wake him in a bit.”
“Both of you hurry and wash up,” Guo Xiuhui reminded.
Su Yunjing hummed in reply.
When he returned to the room after washing up, Fu Hanzhou was still sleeping. The quilt was bulging, with one person and one bear in it.
Su Yunjing stepped forward and lifted the quilt. “Wake up, don’t sleep any more, or you’ll be late.”
Fu Hanzhou, still hugging the bear, burrowed back under the covers.
Su Yunjing: “…”
Su Yunjing yanked the quilt aside completely, leaving the boy and bear exposed with nowhere to hide.
Fu Hanzhou shivered.
Feeling sorry, Su Yunjing covered him again.
And once again, Fu Hanzhou burrowed into the quilt, unwilling to get up.
Su Yunjing’s eyelid twitched. “Do you want me to get my grandma to come wake you?”
This time, Fu Hanzhou finally crawled out.
In front of Guo Xiuhui and Wen Huaishan, he always put on the act of a well-behaved, obedient child.
“So basically, you only bully me, huh? You don’t dare to mess with anyone except me?” Su Yunjing grumbled.
“I went to bed very late,” Fu Hanzhou said, lifting his eyes. Those beautiful phoenix eyes silently accused him.
When he spoke, there was a nasal softness in his voice, half like a complaint, half like a spoiled plea, as if he were unhappy Su Yunjing refused to sleep with him.
Su Yunjing knew that he was experiencing withdrawal symptoms and would throw tantrums from time to time.
Ignoring it, he said instead, “Hurry up and get dressed, I’m going to eat first.”
Giving him a cool, ruthless back view, Su Yunjing walked out and shut the door.
A moment later, Guo Xiuhui’s voice came from outside: “Xiao Fu still not awake?”
“He’s awake, just getting dressed.”
Fu Hanzhou had no choice but to get up.
After breakfast, he followed Su Yunjing to school, listless.
Su Yunjing couldn’t tell if he was truly tired or just pretending. During breaks, the little cool boy would slump on his desk as if asleep.
“Are you really sleepy or just pretending?” Su Yunjing whispered, poking his ticklish spot.
Fu Hanzhou flinched slightly.
He kept his face hidden in his arms, but Su Yunjing thought he heard a muffled chuckle. Or maybe he imagined it.
“Are you faking?” Su Yunjing tried again, tickling his waist.
The moment his hand touched, a cold palm suddenly caught him.
Fu Hanzhou’s fingers, ice-cold but firm, clamped down on Su Yunjing’s hand, pinning it against his firm, lean waist.
After a while, those phoenix eyes peeked out from the crook of his arm, sparkling with laughter.
Su Yunjing couldn’t help but sighed, “With your acting skills, it’s a pity that you don’t become an actor.”
Fu Hanzhou’s eyelids drooped, and he returned to his listless and sleepy look, “I really didn’t sleep well yesterday.”
Su Yunjing: If you become a top star like this in the future and people say your acting skills are not good, I’ll never believe it.
It’s impossible to be soft-hearted.
He resolved that no matter how spoiled or sweetly Fu Hanzhou acted, he wouldn’t give in.
At night, the withdrawal symptoms came back again.
Not long after the lights were off, Fu Hanzhou tossed and turned on the top bunk.
The bed frame was solid; no matter how much he fidgeted, it wouldn’t creak like the flimsy dorm beds.
Su Yunjing stayed calm, ignoring the antics above.
But Fu Hanzhou refused to quit. Since Su Yunjing wouldn’t react, he dropped the big bear, wearing Su Yunjing’s pajamas, down onto his face.
Su Yunjing’s face was covered by the big bear in his pajamas, and he lay on the bed with despair.
This naughty little tsundere …
A moment later, a long, slender hand reached down from above.
Su Yunjing knew he was reaching for the bear. Smirking mischievously, he lifted his leg and rested it in that hand instead.
Fu Hanzhou reacted quickly, instantly grabbing hold of his ankle.
Su Yunjing’s leg dangled in midair. He struggled twice, but when Xiao Kujiao didn’t let go, he stopped moving.
Su Yunjing thought that he would let go when he got tired of playing.
But even after five or six minutes, Fu Hanzhou kept holding on. The muscle at the inside of his thigh began to ache.
Su Yunjing tapped the upper bunk with his other foot, signaling for him to let go.
Fu Hanzhou didn’t react.
“Tch.”
Su Yunjing couldn’t help but sit up and tried to pry Fu Hanzhou’s hand away.
But Fu Hanzhou only clamped down tighter.
Grabbing the railing of the upper bunk, Su Yunjing hoisted himself up, carefully balancing as he stood.
Fu Hanzhou was lying near the edge. When Su Yunjing straightened, their faces nearly touched. Luckily, he steadied himself in time.
In the darkness, those finely shaped phoenix eyes looked even deeper, black irises shining faintly like ink infused with water.
Resting on his arm, he lay on his side, gazing at Su Yunjing—quiet, focused, as though he’d been waiting for this moment all along.
Su Yunjing froze. His heart felt as though it had been struck, softening unbearably.
“Can’t sleep?” Su Yunjing asked softly.
Fu Hanzhou didn’t answer, just kept looking at him.
Su Yunjing pursed his lips and finally compromised. “Sigh… fine. Sleep with me tonight, then.”
Fu Hanzhou’s lips curved up faintly.
His long lashes trembled like butterfly wings, disturbing the tranquility of his dark eyes, and stirring ripples from the depths.
