A Little First Love Shock for the Demon Lord - Chapter 10
“It’s my turn… What does that mean?”
Ying Ning stared nervously at Minglou, cold sweat gathering in her palms.
Minglou answered coolly, “It means it’s time to send you on your way.”
Ying Ning took a trembling step backward.
She recalled a story her older brother once told her when she was little—about a farmer and a snake.
A kind farmer saved a wounded venomous snake. But once it regained consciousness, the snake bit the farmer, leading to his death. The story’s lesson was clear: kindness cannot reform evil.
Ying Ning had gambled that, deep down, Minglou wasn’t a bad person. But it seemed she had lost that bet.
Gripping the hem of her robe tightly, her eyes were filled with fear and disappointment. Minglou, however, only gave a dismissive sneer.
He didn’t care about her feelings. All he wanted was his power back.
Ying Ning locked eyes with him, then suddenly turned and bolted toward the door.
Seeing her flee, Minglou didn’t immediately give chase.
Outside, the torrential rain had stopped, leaving behind a courtyard dotted with puddles.
Ying Ning dashed across the yard in panic, her foot landing in a pool of water, sending ripples across the surface and muddying the clear reflection.
Behind her, Minglou stepped calmly out of the house. His dark, deep-set eyes watched her coldly.
“You can’t escape from the palm of my hand,” he said in a low voice.
Ying Ning instinctively looked back, but her foot slipped. She crashed to the ground, splashing mud and water all over herself.
Minglou frowned at the sight of her in such a pitiful state. After a moment’s pause, he stepped forward and stood before her.
“Be obedient, and I might let you suffer less,” he said sternly, bending down to grab her wrist, intending to pull her up.
But as soon as he tugged, Ying Ning let out a pained whimper.
Minglou frowned. “Stop pretending. I didn’t even use any force.”
Ying Ning looked up at him, her eyes glistening red, like a frightened rabbit. She whispered, aggrieved, “I… I twisted my left ankle.”
“Huh?”
Minglou froze for a second, then quickly squatted down and reached for her ankle.
Seeing this, Ying Ning pulled her foot back cautiously. “What are you doing?” she asked warily.
“What do you think? Checking your injury, of course!” Minglou snapped, grabbing her ankle with a scowl and grumbling to himself, “I haven’t even done anything yet and you’ve already gone and hurt yourself.
How stupid can you be?”
Ying Ning looked at him strangely.
Was it just her imagination, or was there a trace of concern hidden in his muttering?
Minglou gently pressed around her ankle. “Luckily, the bone’s not damaged.”
After a moment of hesitation, Ying Ning asked, “What are you planning to do to me?”
His hands stilled at her question, and his eyes darted away evasively.
Noticing his awkwardness, Ying Ning tilted her head, growing more curious. “What exactly do you want to do to me?”
“It’s none of your business! I’ll do whatever I want!” Minglou snapped, his face turning red.
Ying Ning looked at him with an exasperated smile. “If it concerns me, then of course it’s my business.”
He had no argument against that and fell silent.
Ying Ning simply waited patiently for his answer.
Above, the night clouds slowly drifted apart, and the clear moonlight spilled gently down.
Bathed in silver light, Ying Ning blinked, her long lashes fluttering. Her amber eyes reflected Minglou’s image perfectly.
Minglou saw himself in her eyes—his face flushed, stunned, and utterly unbefitting of a dignified demon lord.
How could he possibly look like that?
“Why are you… blushing again?” Ying Ning asked softly.
Minglou instinctively pressed his lips together, his wildly beating heart thudding like a war drum. He abruptly stood up.
“This time, you’ve really angered me! Just wait—one day I’ll lead the entire demon army and flatten your house!”
He roared furiously, then spun around and stormed out of the courtyard.
Ying Ning watched him disappear at the gate. Then she looked around at her tiny, shabby house, puzzled.
Her place… did it really warrant a full-scale demon army invasion?

Meanwhile…
Luo Su took a deep sniff of the roast chicken leg in his hand. The rich aroma made his mouth water.
He bounced into the main hall of the secret palace, just about to take a bite, when a sudden invisible force smacked the chicken leg out of his hand, sending it flying to pieces.
Luo Su stared at the remains of his chicken, on the verge of tears. But when he looked up and saw the cold-faced Minglou sitting on the throne, his grief vanished, replaced by shock.
“Your Grace…” Luo Su hurried over, eyes fixed on the left side of Minglou’s face. “Your cheek… It’s swollen! Who hit you?”
Just hearing about it made Minglou seethe. He gritted his teeth and growled, “Ying Ning.”
Luo Su gasped, then his eyes twinkled mischievously. “So, you finally made a move, huh? The mortal realm has all these rules, and the girls are old-fashioned. Taking a slap or two is part of the process. Bear with it!”
Minglou rolled his eyes. That wasn’t what happened at all!
But he didn’t explain. Instead, he said bluntly, “I killed the Dream Demon.”
“What?!” Luo Su’s voice cracked with alarm.
Minglou cast him a disdainful glance.
Worried Minglou didn’t realize how serious this was, Luo Su rushed to explain, “Why did you meddle with the Dream Demon?! He served Yu Qianxun. If he starts getting suspicious, we’re in trouble!”
Minglou picked up a silver goblet and swirled the liquor inside lazily. “The Dream Demon had his eyes on Ying Ning.”
Luo Su still looked distressed. “Even so, you shouldn’t have killed him. With your current power, you could’ve just rescued her quietly…”
“They’re looking for Chen Wuxiu’s remnant soul,” Minglou interrupted coldly.
Luo Su froze, hands trembling uncontrollably.
Chen Wuxiu.
The Heavenly Realm loathed the Demon Realm. But all six realms—every one of them—hated Chen Wuxiu.
Even if only a fragment of his soul remained, most demons refused to even say his name. Luo Su was no exception.
Minglou shot him a glance, then looked down at the wine, its surface rippling unnaturally. His voice turned even darker.
“Go investigate whether his remnant soul is still in Yunjing Abyss.”
Luo Su glanced worriedly at Minglou’s chest. “But… what about your powers?”
“I’ll handle that myself,” Minglou said coldly.
Luo Su paused for a moment, then lowered his head. “Understood.”
He turned and left the hall, his earlier lightheartedness gone.
Minglou put down the goblet and leaned his head on one hand, closing his eyes.
Yu Qianxun gave him enough headaches. Ying Ning was an even bigger one.
He didn’t even know what was wrong with him. Why couldn’t he bring himself to harm her?
Minglou sighed.
No sooner had the sigh left his lips than he heard Luo Su’s panicked shouting from outside.
“Your Grace! Trouble! Big trouble!”
Minglou opened his eyes to see Luo Su running back in, looking utterly horrified. He frowned. “What? You finished investigating already?”
“N-no!” Luo Su wheezed, doubling over with exhaustion. “It’s… it’s Sister Spider! I just saw her heading this way!”
“What’s that damn spider woman doing here?” Minglou asked.
Luo Su explained quickly, “She drops by every so often to check on you. No one’s sure whose side she’s on. You better fake being unconscious and get her to leave!”
One headache after another.
Suppressing his rage, Minglou got up and headed for the crystal Ice Soul bed in the rear chamber.
A moment later, a stunning woman dressed in sheer black silk swayed into the main hall, heavy makeup adorning her face.
“Luo Su~ I came to see my precious Lou Lou~” she cooed.
Luo Su, standing beside the bed, wiped his sweaty brow and forced a smile. “Sister Spider, you’re here.”
The woman pinched his cheek playfully. “Sweet boy. Did you miss your big sis?”
Luo Su nodded quickly. “I did. Very much.”
Satisfied, she turned to look at the seemingly unconscious Minglou.
“Oh my, it’s been so long since I saw my Lou Lou. Let me have a good look at him~” she pouted and suddenly pounced on the bed.
Watching her land on Minglou’s body, Luo Su broke into a cold sweat.
Sis! He’s awake! Please go easy!
Unaware of Luo Su’s panic, Spider caressed Minglou’s cheek lovingly. “My Lou Lou is still as handsome as ever.”
Then she noticed the slap mark on his left cheek.
She tilted her head, examining it. “What happened to his face?”
Luo Su broke into another sweat and scrambled for an excuse. “I found an old folk remedy in a book… Thought it might wake him.”
“A remedy?” Spider squinted at him meaningfully.
Luo Su felt a chill. Had she seen through the lie?
Suddenly, she grinned knowingly. “Come on, it’s just the two of us. Drop the act.”
“Huh?” Luo Su blinked.
“You slapped him while he was unconscious to vent your frustration, didn’t you? Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”
Luo Su opened his mouth to explain—but gave up. Let her think that. It’d be too hard to explain the truth.
Seeing he didn’t deny it, Spider rolled up her sleeves, even spitting on her palm.
“Honestly, I’ve wanted to slap this guy too. How about we—” She raised her hand high.
Seeing the slap incoming, Luo Su threw himself forward and grabbed her arm. “Sister Spider! Don’t you love him the most? Can you really bear to hit him?”
“I love his face, not that filthy mouth!” she snorted. “He always called me a ‘damn spider demon.’ If I weren’t weaker than him, I’d have ripped that mouth off ages ago!”
“Sister, that was all in the past…” Luo Su’s voice trembled.
“He’ll still be just as foul-mouthed when he wakes up! Like a latrine! I might as well slap him a few more times while I can!”
Luo Su glanced toward Minglou and saw his fists clenched tight, trembling with rage.
He thought grimly: I’m done for. The moment she leaves, His Grace is definitely taking this out on me…
He was already drowning in sorrow…
“My life is so miserable!” Luo Su wailed dramatically.
Zhuzhu was startled by his outburst. “What’s wrong with you now?”
Tears streamed down Luo Su’s face as he cried, “His Majesty still hasn’t awakened, and I’m left alone guarding this empty palace day after day—it’s unbearably lonely!”
Hearing that, Zhuzhu paused for a moment, then a sly smile curled at the corners of her lips.
“Su Su, are you really that lonely?”
Luo Su sniffled, dabbing at imaginary tears, and gave a pitiful nod.
With a sultry sway of her hips, Zhuzhu pressed herself against him and whispered, “If you’re feeling that lonely… why don’t you come to your sister tonight? I’ll make sure you’re well comforted.”
Luo Su nodded instinctively, but then froze. A beat later, he looked at her in horror. “Wait—what?!”
Zhuzhu hooked his chin with her finger, her voice soft and threatening. “You must come to your sister tonight… or else your sister will have no choice but to go looking for your master instead.”
With that, she turned and sashayed out of the secret palace, leaving behind a stunned Luo Su.
He was still standing there in a daze when Minglou suddenly sat upright.
Clapping a hand firmly on Luo Su’s shoulder, Minglou said in a serious tone, “I didn’t expect you to be willing to sacrifice your chastity for my sake.”
Luo Su’s eyes welled with tears again. After a long moment of inner struggle, he turned to Minglou with fierce determination, gritted his teeth, and declared, “That’s right! I’ll throw everything away if I must! But your chastity, Your Majesty, must be reserved for Miss Ying Ning!”
For some reason, the moment he said that, the Demon Lord’s face flushed bright red…
