A Love Letter Written to You - Chapter 21
Chapter 21
“Are you really set on doing it?” Sister Qun asked over the phone.
Leng Ying nodded. “Mm, I talked it over with Ji Yu. We’re going together.”
“Alright, I’ll let Director Pan know.” Qun said, “Ji Yu’s working at the company now, right? Make sure you coordinate the timing with her.”
“I know! Don’t worry, Qun-jie~”
Ji Yu’s joyful voice came through loud and clear. Qun-jie paused, surprised: “You have me on speaker?”
Leng Ying nodded calmly. “Mm. I’m hanging up now.”
She had deliberately made the call in front of Ji Yu to confirm the variety show decision.
A big matter, settled.
Then, Leng Ying opened her contacts and moved Leng Xingming’s number to the blacklist. The most recent call record was from over two years ago—Leng Ying had zero hesitation about blocking her.
Ji Yu watched her actions without saying anything. She simply went to the kitchen and brought out the freshly made juice, lifting a glass to Leng Ying’s lips.
…
At the studio.
After hanging up with Leng Ying, Sister Qun pulled up the program proposal Director Pan had sent her before and dialed his number.
Leng Ying’s decision hadn’t come early—the show was set to start filming in just ten days, and the official program account had already begun teaser promotions.
Sister Qun wasn’t sure if there were still any spots left.
But if Leng Ying wanted to be on the show, she had no choice but to ask.
She dialed the number—only two rings before it was picked up. Qun-jie felt 70–80% sure this was going to work.
On the other end, Director Pan sounded unusually excited: “Jia Qun—?! You’re calling me… does that mean Leng Ying’s willing to join the show?”
Sheng Jia Qun: “…Prophetic as ever, Director Pan.”
“Hahahahahaha!” A burst of laughter came through—Pan was truly delighted. “It’s not prophecy, it’s just the facts. You don’t call me out of the blue without a reason—no holiday, no occasion.”
Their only connection was his invitation for Leng Ying to join the variety show.
“Yes, Leng Ying’s changed her mind a bit,” Jia Qun said. “Have all your guest pairs been finalized yet?”
“I’ll be honest with you,” Director Pan replied, “We’ve locked in three out of four couples. The last pair has been dragging—I’ve had some backups lined up, been in contact, but you know how it is. Can’t give up till the last moment. And look at that—here’s the turnaround I was hoping for.”
Jia Qun chuckled. She got the message loud and clear. “When do we sign the contract?”
So soon?
Director Pan was surprised, but he wouldn’t let this golden opportunity slip through his fingers: “I’ll come over right now.”
This one seems really good
