A Pair of Evil Women's Love - Chapter 35
Chapter 35
“I don’t want to.” Fu Yilan struggled. The word “home” had become a taboo, and she wasn’t willing to talk about it or go to a home that wasn’t her own.
She didn’t need Fu Haitang’s generosity or polite words like, “My home is your home.” In her heart, the boundaries of home were clear-cut.
Fu Haitang took off her own hat and pressed it onto Fu Yilan’s face. The omega’s face was so small that half the brim covered her entirely.
Fu Haitang: “Don’t move. We’re going outside.”
Fu Yilan: “…”
Fu Yilan turned her head and buried it in Fu Haitang’s arm. She didn’t know what the scene outside the hospital was like, only that she could hear the clicks of camera shutters and a roaring crowd.
“What’s happening?” Fu Yilan clutched Fu Haitang’s shirt.
Stepping out of the clinic building, Fu Haitang went down the stairs. “Someone posted a picture of you at this hospital. The fans and media have come.”
Ji Xiaotong rushed over, followed by several alphas and betas. “The security is here! Move!”
Feeling the body in her arms stiffen, Fu Haitang hugged Fu Yilan tighter and leaned down to comfort her. “Don’t be scared. I’m here.”
Fu Haitang was nearly 170cm tall, and now wearing ten-centimeter heels. She was in a black pencil skirt with a high slit that showed off her long, straight legs.
Those legs stepped down the stairs one by one. The evening breeze lifted the corner of her skirt, and her dark, curly hair swayed in the wind. Fu Yilan secretly lifted a corner of the hat. She looked up and could see Fu Haitang’s sharp jawline under her mask, and her high-bridged nose.
A strand of hair fell and tickled Fu Yilan’s nose. She sneezed, making the person holding her look down. Her lake-like eyes, usually calm, showed a ripple of concern because of her.
Fu Haitang reached up and hid her again.
“Don’t move around,” Fu Haitang said.
Fu Yilan: “…”
Fu Yilan’s mind was in a mess. Why did that look a little cool? And… the omega’s scent was overpowering. Pheromones… I told her… Fu Yilan’s heart started to beat faster.
<Omega and Alpha Health Class>, Chapter 1, Section 1: Crucial point to remember, omegas and alphas must spray an inhibitor every day to suppress normal pheromone emissions.
In this situation, Fu Haitang must have completely forgotten the health class she’s been taking since elementary school!
They hadn’t even gotten home yet, and Fu Yilan had already added a mark against Fu Haitang. Hearing the camera shutters and the noise, she knew this scene wasn’t small. She, a new idol, was about to be branded with negative press for being extravagant or acting like a big star. Another mark, still on Fu Haitang’s account.
“Who is that?”
The noise grew closer. Fu Yilan felt the bumpiness ease, meaning they were on flat ground and heading toward the car.
“Is that Fu Yilan’s girlfriend?”
“No way? She looks like an omega based on her outfit.”
“How could that be? She’s so tall, she must be an alpha, or at least a beta!”
Fu Yilan pursed her lips, annoyed that she was getting tangled in rumors because of her. Another mark.
Her altitude lowered, and she was gently placed on soft leather. The hat was taken off, and her vision was restored. Fu Yilan looked at Fu Haitang.
Fu Haitang tossed the hat aside. Feeling the stare, she asked, “Why is your face so red?” As she spoke, she wiped a bit of Fu Yilan’s lipstick off.
Fu Yilan: “…”
The car door closed.
Ji Xiaotong hopped into the passenger seat. Fu Haitang sat in the driver’s seat. The security team maintained order in the driveway. Fu Haitang started the car and turned to remind Fu Yilan, “Say hi to the reporters and fans.”
Fu Yilan’s pale face appeared behind the car window. She raised her hand and waved. Her smile froze for a few seconds amidst the insane screaming. She was startled. It had only been half a month since she joined the show, and she never expected to become famous so quickly or have so many fans.
No matter how much the media reported or how much the online world debated, it all felt so distant. This was the first time she had physically experienced the madness of the entertainment industry.
The car window went up, and the noise gradually faded behind them. Fu Yilan asked, “Where are we going?”
“You finally asked!” Ji Xiaotong had been holding it in for a long time. She twisted in her seat, practically trying to climb over to Fu Yilan. “We’re going home, Mommy!”
Fu Yilan: “…”
“Ji Xiaotong!” At a red light, Fu Haitang reached back and grabbed her collar. “Sit still! Don’t make me lose points on my license!”
Ji Xiaotong wilted. “Okay…”
“Xiaotong…” The last time they met, there had been a deep misunderstanding. Fu Yilan felt awkward thinking about it and still wasn’t used to facing Ji Xiaotong. “Thank you for coming to… cheer for me today.”
“It’s called showing support,” Fu Haitang said easily. “Ji Xiaotong is your biggest fan. Meeting you is her dream, so don’t be shy.”
“Mommy, can we take a picture together?”
“Of course.” Fu Yilan smiled, quickly adapting to her celebrity status. “But I might need to practice my autograph.”
Fu Haitang chuckled.
Fu Yilan held the plastic bag containing her medicine. The rustling of the plastic emphasized her hesitation. “My clothes are at the coffee shop.”
“Wear mine,” Fu Haitang said.
Fu Yilan: “And…”
Fu Haitang: “I’ll wash them for you.”
Fu Yilan: “…”
Still not at the apartment, she took out her phone and logged into Weibo. The internet was buzzing. A Station had resumed its live broadcast, but it was clear that Fu Yilan’s incident had affected the entire show.
No matter which group was performing or how good the content was, it couldn’t attract any attention. The comments were all demanding that the show give Fu Yilan justice.
Someone had even compared the first episode’s incident with Fu Yilan’s performance costume, analyzing the two blurred trainees from their post-show interview. They deduced their heights from their sitting posture, isolated and restored their distorted voices, and analyzed their micro-expressions from daily activities.
They then replayed Fu Yilan’s performance under a virtual microscope, drawing movement lines, deconstructing the dance, and analyzing everyone’s body language. From their actions to their psychological state, they used every possible method to conclude that Li Qingqing and Fang Qian were the culprits who threw away Fu Yilan’s performance costume!
And online, a movement was forming, demanding the production team to release more details.
Fu Yilan: “…”
How amazing. Is this what fans are like?
“We’re here.” The car stopped. Fu Yilan opened the door herself, but just as she pushed it open, that person leaned in to pick her up.
Fu Haitang even bounced her twice, smiling as she said, “The first time is unfamiliar, the second time is easy.”
Fu Yilan: “That nerve of yours!”
“Is that how you talk to your savior?” Fu Haitang asked, feigning surprise. She then ordered Ji Xiaotong to lock the car and take the bags.
Fu Yilan felt a pang of pity. “Is that how you treat your cousin?”
Fu Haitang was momentarily confused about who she meant by “cousin.” “Who?”
Fu Yilan was incredibly sharp. She immediately narrowed her eyes. “Isn’t Ji Xiaotong your cousin?”
“Oh, she always calls you ‘Mommy,’ so I automatically blocked out that relationship to maintain my seniority,” Fu Haitang spouted nonsense.
That nerve! Fu Yilan was indignant. She reached out and pinched her arm. “That was a mistake.”
“You bruised me! How is that a mistake?” Fu Haitang admired her ability to lie so brazenly, having completely forgotten her own talent for it.
Back home.
The bathroom situation was the top priority.
All three of them had been running around all day and wanted to wash off the sweat and rest.
“Mommy, I’ll help you to the bathroom.” But Ji Xiaotong, the die-hard fan, was an exception. “I’ll carry you!” she said, trying to copy Fu Haitang’s style of carrying Fu Yilan.
“Wait!” Fu Yilan hopped away on one foot. Ji Xiaotong was small and big-hearted but a little foolish. She couldn’t risk letting her carry her.
Ji Xiaotong chased her. “Don’t run away.”
Fu Yilan dodged. “Wait, Fu Haitang—”
Fu Haitang, who was in the middle of finding some clothes for Fu Yilan, nearly let Ji Xiaotong cause a disaster. She burst out of the room and smacked Ji Xiaotong on the forehead. “Ten bags of corn chips are gone!”
Ji Xiaotong cried out. “I just wanted to help Mommy take a bath!”
“You can use the guest bathroom,” Fu Haitang said, then picked up Fu Yilan and carried her to the master bedroom bathroom. “You can use the one in my room.”
“Wait!” Ji Xiaotong couldn’t catch up to Fu Haitang. The door closed between them. She knocked on the door and yelled, “Don’t do anything else to my mom! Fu Haitang! Remember your place!”
“What is she saying?” Fu Yilan asked from inside the room.
Fu Haitang pushed open the bathroom door with her foot and smiled. “Why aren’t you running away now?”
It’s true, the first time is strange, the third time is easy. Fu Yilan was already reaching up to wrap her arms around Fu Haitang’s neck.
Fu Yilan’s lips twitched. At her words, she loosened her hands, but the next second her body tilted. The loss of balance startled her, and her waist tensed. She immediately wrapped her arms around Fu Haitang’s head, pulling her close.
A full, fragrant scent filled the air. Fu Haitang’s cheek and nose rested on something soft. She even held her breath, not daring to move, afraid of startling the little vixen in her arms.
Below her was a bathtub. Fu Yilan breathed a sigh of relief, thinking for a second that Fu Haitang was going to throw her out. She realized she was just being put in the tub. She relaxed, then belatedly noticed their intimate position.
Fu Haitang’s breathing became heavier, as if she was sniffing at Fu Yilan’s chest.
Fu Yilan’s face flushed. She had been training all day, followed by a performance and a cold sweat after her injury. Her scent was probably unmentionable. “What are you doing?”
Fu Haitang had heard a saying that a girl’s chest always smells fragrant, even if she hasn’t bathed in weeks. She had truly believed it and couldn’t help but take two extra sniffs. Now she’d been caught.
She quietly moved away, pretending not to understand Fu Yilan’s tone, which sounded like she was catching a criminal. She whispered, “Take off your clothes first.”
Fu Yilan: “You go out. I’ll wash myself.”
“I’ve seen it a million times…” Fu Haitang mumbled.
Fu Yilan clutched the hem of her clothes. She felt like she smelled awful and couldn’t imagine being handled by Fu Haitang. So she put on a cold face. “You’re not going out, are you?”
The mental ledger rustled. Fu Yilan crossed her arms and looked up. “Fu Haitang, how much money did Gu Jingjing give you today?”
Money really is this person’s weakness. Fu Yilan felt a smug victory. She continued, “You ruined my conversation with Teacher Lu, you shamelessly carried me away in public at the hospital. Tomorrow’s headlines in City A will be about my scandal. Do you think you can get away with it?”
Fu Haitang crouched down in front of the tub.
Fu Yilan thought this was a sign of a loser waving a white flag. She scoffed. “If you can’t explain yourself, then get out.”
But Fu Haitang simply crossed her arms and rested her head on them, looking up at her.
Fu Yilan pursed her lips, feeling self-conscious under the stare.
“You’re not trying to settle a score,” Fu Haitang’s face was flushed, and she could barely control herself. She leaned closer to Fu Yilan and repeated softly, “You’re not trying to settle a score. You’re… being spoiled.”
“Fu Yilan, you’re taking advantage of me spoiling you. You’ve learned to throw tantrums in front of me.”
The string in her heart snapped.
That string broke with a twang, a sound that even drowned out her own heartbeat.
