- A Pretty Girl Has Her First Kiss Stolen By an Equally Handsome Classmate
- Episode 2.1 - "Mizuhara, What Did You Just Do?"
Thursday, April 7
Mizuhara Shizuku, with her “public mode” switched on, was unstoppable.
She actively approached her new classmates, flashing that friendly smile of hers. Unlike the blunt way she spoke to Wakamatsu, she was engaging and social, showing no signs of the time she’d spent away from school. Mizuhara was completely wrapped in her “public mode” veil, making it impossible to tell that she had ever been absent.
What the heck? Why doesn’t she talk to me with that smile too?
With that thought lingering, Wakamatsu sat in the second-to-last seat in the row, assigned by student number.
Starting in the second year of high school, students are divided into classes based on their choice of humanities or science tracks. Since she and Mizuhara were in the same class, that meant Mizuhara had chosen the humanities track, just like her.
As Wakamatsu rested her chin on her hand, watching Mizuhara, she felt a gentle tap on her back.
“Hey, you’re Wakamatsu, right?”
Turning around, she saw a girl who looked like a princess. Her long hair curled inward at the ends, giving her a graceful, refined appearance. She had delicate facial features and slightly flushed cheeks.
Wakamatsu pulled her chair back to face her.
“Yeah, that’s me. Have we met before?”
Wakamatsu was part of the student council executive team, responsible for planning and managing school events. They often collaborated with different clubs and recruited volunteers. Maybe they had crossed paths during an event, and Wakamatsu just didn’t remember.
“Nope! This is our first time talking. But I was so happy, I just had to say hi!”
“Haha, why are you happy about that?”
“Because I…”
The girl leaned in close, bringing her lips near Wakamatsu’s ear.
“I’ve always thought you were really cool, Wakamatsu.”
Hearing that whispered in her ear made her skin tingle.
As she pulled back, their eyes met at close range. The girl’s lips, coated with a soft pink gloss, caught Wakamatsu’s gaze. Lips… lips…
Suddenly, she remembered her kiss with Mizuhara. A wave of heat rose from deep inside her.
“Oh, uh… thanks, I guess.”
“You’re really popular, Wakamatsu.”
Trying to shake off the memory of Mizuhara, she forced herself to focus on talking to her new classmate.
“What’s your name? What should I call you?”
“I’m Chisato Wakumura! You can call me whatever’s easiest.”
“Alright then, Wakumura it is.”
She had a soft, warm aura and an undeniably charming personality. Her big, round eyes sparkled as she looked straight at Wakamatsu.
“Can I call you Kaede-chan?”
“Uh, yeah, sure.”
Unlike when Mizuhara called her “Kaede-chan,” this didn’t make her feel awkward at all. A girly girl like Wakumura could use “chan” without it sounding strange.
Blushing like a blooming flower, Wakumura cupped her cheeks with both hands and shyly smiled.
She was the definition of “girly.”
Wakamatsu had been trying to find a chance to talk to Mizuhara, but being in different groups made it hard. She thought about catching her on the way to the opening ceremony, but Wakumura had interrupted that plan.
Still, she kept looking for an opportunity. And finally, the moment came when Mizuhara walked out of the restroom.
Without hesitation, Wakamatsu grabbed Mizuhara’s arm, pulling her along forcefully.
“Ow. That hurts, you know,” Mizuhara grumbled, clearly annoyed.
Ignoring her complaint, Wakamatsu dragged her to a quiet spot in the hallway.
After making sure no one was around, Wakamatsu turned to face her.
“Mizuhara, what the hell did you just do?”
“What do you mean?”
“You know! That! That thing!”
“Huh?”
Mizuhara tilted her head, completely clueless.
Wakamatsu tried to explain through gestures, pressing her index finger against her lips to get the message across.
“Ohhh, that. What about it?”
She said it so casually that Wakamatsu was stunned.
Did it mean nothing to her? Was it just a normal thing for her?
“Wait… are you, like, a returnee from overseas or something?”
“…What are you talking about?”
That was my first kiss, you know.
Wakamatsu almost said it, but before she could, she heard someone calling her name from down the hall.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Mizuhara slipped away from her grasp.
“See you Friday after school.”
She flashed a teasing smile before disappearing back into the classroom.
