- Episode 2.12 - "You Were Always Thinking About Me"
Monday, June 6
During the morning homeroom, we had our career path survey, and Wakamatsu found herself holding her head in frustration.
She still hadn’t decided on her future plans. Glancing at Mizuhara, she noticed that Mizuhara had already finished filling out her form and was staring blankly at the blackboard.
“Mizuhara, where are you going to college?”
“Probably the local national university. I don’t plan on leaving the prefecture.”
“Ahh, what should I do…”
“If you don’t have any particular preference, why not just go to the same university as me?”
Mizuhara chuckled softly.
They sat together on a bench, eating lunch. Why had Wakamatsu invited her today? The reason was simple—there was something she could only talk about when they were alone.
“Hey, are you free next Saturday?”
“Tell me why, and I’ll let you know.”
Wakamatsu took a deep breath.
“Would you like to go on a date this Saturday?”
Mizuhara widened her eyes in surprise.
Then, she smiled gently, straightened her posture, and bowed her head slightly. “I’d love to.”
Hearing that, Wakamatsu felt a wave of relief. She took Mizuhara Shizuku’s hand resting on her thigh, gripping it gently, and looked at her with the biggest smile she could muster.

During fourth period modern literature, Wakamatsu dozed off and was woken up by a sharp smack on the head from the teacher.
“Wakamatsu! Come up and write the answer to Question 3 on the board!”
“Huh? Uh, which one?”
“Just come up here and figure it out!”
Following instructions, Wakamatsu walked up to the teacher’s desk and was handed a piece of chalk.
It seemed to be time for a practice question from the textbook. The passage had already been covered in previous lessons, so Wakamatsu tried to recall the content while tackling Question 3.
From the central row, close to the teacher’s desk, Wakamatsu could feel a piercing gaze.
Most likely, it was Mizuhara Shizuku.
“All done!” Wakamatsu turned around proudly.
There, she saw Mizuhara Shizuku staring intensely at her textbook.

Fifth period was P.E., a volleyball match between teams.
Mizuhara’s team was eliminated early, but Wakamatsu’s team made it to the final round against Class 5’s team. With the cheers of Class 3 behind them, Wakamatsu’s team fought hard. Even though Wakamatsu had no experience in volleyball, her body moved exactly as she wanted it to.
She could feel Mizuhara Shizuku’s unwavering gaze on her. She wasn’t cheering loudly, but Wakamatsu was sure she was supporting her.
“Alright, here we go!”
She barely managed to return a powerful spike, and her teammates scrambled to keep the ball in play. This last point was crucial, and the ball refused to hit the ground.
After about seven back-and-forth exchanges, an exceptionally tall opponent sent a vicious shot toward them.
Wakamatsu lowered her stance, ready to receive it.
However, even though her form was solid, the impact sent a sharp jolt through her arms, and the ball flew off in a completely different direction.
A sharp whistle echoed through the gym, and Class 5 erupted in cheers.
“Ahhh! I’m so sorry!”
Wakamatsu fell backward, apologizing loudly while staring up at the ceiling.
She had wanted to impress Mizuhara Shizuku with a winning play. Lying on her back, she searched for Mizuhara. She was chatting and laughing with Itohara and Noguchi.
“What are you doing?” her teammates teased, giving her a playful shove, marking the end of the intense match.

During English class, they had a movie-watching session.
The film was played with English subtitles, and they had to watch it in English. But it wasn’t just for fun—they had to submit a report by the next class, analyzing the story and answering questions about it.
This time, it was a classic romance film.
Every now and then, Wakamatsu could feel Mizuhara Shizuku’s gaze.
Was she thinking about Wakamatsu because of the romance theme? Feeling slightly embarrassed, Wakamatsu met her eyes.
At that exact moment, their eyes locked, and Wakamatsu felt flustered.
Friday, June 10
“Hey, haven’t you been looking at me too much lately?”
As soon as Wakamatsu entered Mizuhara’s room, she was confronted.
Wakamatsu tilted her head in confusion at the unexpected complaint. Sitting properly on the floor, she looked up at Mizuhara, who stood over her with a serious expression.
“Since Monday, you’ve been staring at me a lot. It’s kind of distracting.”
“Wait, but you’ve been looking at me too, right?”
“Huh? What are you talking about? I wouldn’t do that.”
Was she just being shy, or was she serious?
“Didn’t you keep looking at me when I got called on in modern literature?”
“Nope. I was too busy solving the problem.”
“But! Yesterday, during the movie, we made eye contact too!”
Mizuhara sighed, seemingly exasperated, and sat down next to her.
“That’s because you kept glancing at me. I turned to glare at you.”
“G-Glare…?”
“And that’s when our eyes just happened to meet.”
“See? That means you were thinking about me all the time!”
“Shut up, don’t dig too deep into it.”
“Heh, you’re cute.”
Before Mizuhara could protest, Wakamatsu leaned in and gave her a quick kiss.
Immediately, Mizuhara’s heartbeat raced, and warmth rushed to her cheeks. To hide her flustered expression, she buried her face in Wakamatsu’s shoulder, inhaling her familiar scent. It was as if she was wrapped in Mizuhara’s presence.
“You smell nice.”
“Heh, you smell sweet too, Wakamatsu.”
Mizuhara placed another gentle kiss on her lips. Seeing her soft smile, Wakamatsu felt an overwhelming sense of love and hugged her tightly.
“I’m excited for our date tomorrow, Wakamatsu.”
“Yeah, I promise I’ll make it fun.”
“Anything is fun as long as I’m with you.”
It seemed that throughout the week, the one who had been thinking about the other the most… was actually Wakamatsu.
