- A Pretty Girl Has Her First Kiss Stolen By an Equally Handsome Classmate
- Episode 4.2 - "Let's Kiss Again, Mizuhara"
Monday, September 12
Shizuku Mizuhara glared at the scorching sun.
The afternoon classes had been replaced by “official practice,” and the training was reaching its final stage. In the morning, there were regular classes, and in the afternoon, official practice. After school hours were dedicated to individual event training.
“Ugh, are we really doing the stick pull event now?”
“Good luck, Kaede!”
With a push on her back, Kaede Wakamatsu ran toward the field.
As Shizuku watched her light and nimble figure, a soft voice called out, “Shizuku-chan.”
“You’re working hard with the event staff! Must be tough until after school.”
“No, no, Chisato, you’re the one working hard with practice.”
Chisato Wakumura, with sweat on her forehead, smiled.
Her hair, usually hanging down her back, was tied up in a ponytail, giving her a different look. Her flushed cheeks from practice made her appear even cuter. She had well-defined facial features on a round face, and her cheerful smile was enough to make anyone’s heart waver.
“Is your practice done for today?”
“Yeah, unlike Kaede, I only have cavalry battle for my individual event.”
“Not many people participate in three individual events.”
“Kaede is really amazing.”
Her eyes held feelings of admiration and longing.
It was painful for Shizuku to see Chisato’s feelings for Kaede, so she tried to change the subject.
“I’m looking forward to next month’s school trip.”
“Yeah! I hope we end up in the same group, Shizuku-chan.”
“Haha, I wonder how they’ll decide.”
Though Shizuku responded, her feelings were complicated.
Chisato was part of the top-tier social group. Led by Kaede, it included Masuda and Ariyoshi. Shizuku, who usually stayed in the background, couldn’t imagine herself fitting in with them.
After waving goodbye to her classmates, Shizuku returned to her duties as an event staff member.
She patrolled the gym, the auditorium, and the sports field, ensuring proper hydration, distributing salt tablets and sports drinks, and handing out practice equipment.
“Mizuhara, can you return these borrowed items?”
Just as she finished most of her tasks, a senior staff member called out to her. At his feet was a large cardboard box filled with borrowed equipment.
“Ah, okay, got it.”
“Also, lock up the changing room when you’re done.”
Handing her the keys to the prefab storage and meeting room, he quickly left the management office.
Shizuku bent down to pick up the box.
“Huh? This is way too heavy…”
The words slipped out without thinking.
After checking that no one was around, she began sorting the items inside. There was no way she could carry all this to the storage room in one trip. She’d have to divide it and make multiple trips.
Muttering about being assigned such a huge task at the last minute, she carried the items back and forth.
By the third trip, most students had already left the sports field. She passed through the courtyard, carrying the items to the prefab storage.
“I’ll carry that, Mizuhara.”
A voice called out from nowhere—Kaede Wakamatsu.
Before she could refuse, Kaede reached out and took the load. Her gym clothes were dusty from practice, and her knees were scraped.
“It’s fine, go change first. And maybe visit the nurse’s office.”
“Oh! I went to the nurse’s office earlier, but I forgot.”
Shizuku frowned. How could someone forget to get treated after going all the way there?
Seeing her puzzled look, Kaede explained, “I was carrying a student who had heatstroke. I got distracted and forgot.”
“…You’re too kind. It’s going to cost you someday.”
“I’m not kind, just normal.”
Seeing Kaede prioritize others over herself made Shizuku’s chest tighten.
She had just finished an exhausting practice session, yet she was still helping her classmates.
“Hey, take better care of yourself.”
“I do.”
“Then give me back the box. This is my job.”
“Nope! No way.”
Kaede dodged Shizuku’s arms and laughed.
With her hair brushed back, she looked even more radiant than usual.
In the end, Shizuku couldn’t take the box back and they arrived at the prefab storage behind the school building.
Inside the cluttered room, they put the borrowed equipment back in place.
“Hey, is there more stuff?”
“No, that’s the last of it.”
“Wait, did you make multiple trips for this?”
Shizuku stayed silent. That silence was her answer.
“Next time, just call me. I’ll help.”
As they stepped out of the storage room, Kaede dusted off her clothes.
If only she could brush away her feelings for Kaede as easily as that.
“…I can’t do that. But thanks for carrying the stuff.”
Locking the storage, Shizuku headed toward the school building.
“Mizuhara, where to next?”
“Locking the changing room… Ah.”
“Hmm?”
She turned and stared at Kaede’s outfit.
“Hurry up and change. I need to lock up.”
Pulling Kaede by the arm, they rushed to the third meeting room, which was being used as a changing room.
The dark curtains covered the windows, and the room was empty.
“This place is nostalgic.”
Casually changing, Kaede murmured.
Stripped down to her underclothes, she wiped her armpits, neck, and stomach with a wet sheet. Her smooth, well-shaped body was completely exposed.
Something about her carelessness irritated Shizuku.
“Doesn’t this place feel nostalgic to you, Mizuhara?”
Kaede glanced at her.
The third meeting room.
After the class match closing ceremony, this was where they kissed.
Kaede had begged for a kiss, and Shizuku had gotten dizzy from it. In the heat of the moment, she had even forgotten they were at school and kissed her deeply.
Just before she lost control, she had pulled away.
“…If you’re just going to talk, I’ll lock the door.”
“Go ahead.”
That response made Shizuku look up.
“Let’s kiss again, Mizuhara.”
Kaede’s eyes met hers directly.
Shizuku had seen that same look just moments ago—in Chisato Wakumura’s eyes.
A look filled with unmistakable love.
“…That’s not happening.”
It caught in her throat, but she managed to say it.
“I know.”
Kaede tied her uniform ribbon, then walked past Shizuku, who was leaning against the door.
Shizuku didn’t watch her leave.
Instead, she simply locked the meeting room door.
