A Snake Transmigrated as a Scum A (GL) - Chapter 21
Li Yingxue’s team of people ate fish in large chunks and then had some snakeberries as dessert.
After eating and drinking to their heart’s content, Di You sat on a large log by the bonfire, stretched out comfortably, leaned back, and glanced at the Chu Xingchun team beside her.
Only then did I realize that because there wasn’t much food, the other party had already finished off those few bullfrogs, leaving even the few wild yams with nothing left.
Not even a single grain of food was left, unlike them, who still had a few large wild yams saved for tomorrow’s rations, as well as two bundles of firewood.
These two bundles of firewood were collected after Tang Youyi and I finished picking snakeberries in the afternoon. We couldn’t find any other food, so we turned around and picked up two bundles of firewood.
Suddenly, not knowing what she thought of, Di You teased, “Chu Xingchun, I heard that you almost got bitten by a snake today while digging wild yam?”
Chu Xingchun and the others didn’t say a word and gave her a cold glance.
Di You said again, “I’m not saying this, but for a few wild yams, there’s no need to risk your life, right? Wild yams aren’t exactly a good thing.”
Dinner was lavish, and with the large wild yam that Chu Xingchun had given them, Tang Youyi only cooked one big wild yam that night, cutting it into four large pieces with a dagger after it was cooked.
Di You was peeling her segment, took a bite with eloquence, and said something that made people grit their teeth in frustration: “People like us never dig up those things.”
Chu Xingchun and the others: “……” You damn well better not eat.
“Look at us,” Di You glanced at the campfire and the leftover fish bones and spines at her feet, and said with a grin, “You can go fishing in the river, you know. Our captain caught two fish in the river you found today, it was easy, just need hands.”
As long as you have hands… it’s fine.
Full of sarcasm.
Chu Xingchun and the others all had faces as black as coal.
The audience who were eating while watching the live broadcast were about to burst out laughing.
[Hahaha, as long as you have hands, it’s fine.]
[Redefining ‘having hands’]
[She really dares to speak up.]
[Amateurs tend to be quite bold.]
[I thought tonight would be the night for Chu Xingchun’s team to rise, but who knew the team next door actually caught two fish. This round still goes to Li Yingxue’s team, they totally crushed it.]
Di You was putting on a show of bravado, feeling quite good, and when she looked at Fu Man, she realized she was still just a naive student. Those fleeting romantic thoughts came and went quickly.
“Don’t we still have an advanced rookie gift pack that we haven’t drawn?”
Tang Youyi said, “There was one, the captain was the first person to make a spear.”
Speaking of the spear, Di You subconsciously looked at Li Yingxue. Sister Fu Man said that the spear was made entirely by Li Yingxue, and she didn’t intervene.
Li Yingxue was using the spear she had made to skewer two fish.
“Then… Captain, go ahead and draw.”
Let’s see what gear they can get tonight.
Li Yingxue glanced at her and said, “Go ahead and draw.”
In the end, she coldly added, “I’m not very lucky.”
In yesterday’s rookie gift pack, she only got a not-so-useful backpack.
“Really let me go?” Di You pointed at herself in disbelief. After getting confirmation, she seemed a bit happy, as if she had received some kind of recognition.
“Then I’ll go.” Di You stood up and first recited a set of middle-school girl prayers, “It must be a tent, please, whether I can get a good night’s sleep tonight depends on this.”
There are several advanced rookie gift packs lined up in front, all of the same size.
Di You first picked one up, shook it, and it clanged. It was definitely not a tent. She immediately changed her mind and said, “I’ll pick another one! Director.”
The director realized that her action was suspicious of hoarding supplies and immediately wanted someone to stop her from touching other gift packs.
Di You saw someone immediately come up to stop her, and there was even a possibility that she could choose the previous gift pack again. With a determined heart, she randomly picked one: “I’ll choose this one! I’ll choose this one!”
The director had no choice but to call everyone back.
Di You eagerly opened the gift box—
“Huh?”
“It looks like a tent—”
Di You couldn’t believe it and hurriedly opened the gift package faster. The more she opened, the happier she became: “A tent! It’s a tent!”
Tang Youyi also couldn’t believe it. She got up and went over to help dismantle it, “It really is a tent. Finally, we won’t have to be bitten by mosquitoes tonight.”
Upon hearing this, Chai Qiuyan, Le Xi, and Li Shengkai looked over eagerly as Di You and Tang Youyi opened the package, revealing the materials for setting up a tent inside.
Chu Xingchun narrowed his eyes with an unfriendly expression, violently swatting the large mosquito on his arm. In no time, a big, red, swollen bump appeared on his arm, itching unbearably.
Di You and Tang Youyi happily brought back the materials for setting up the tent, then moved two bundles of firewood aside to clear some space. After that, the team quickly set up the tent behind the campfire.
Half an hour later, a military green tent was set up, barely enough to sleep four people, but it was a bit cramped.
The space may be small, but it doesn’t stop everyone from showing their smiles.
With a private space, even changing clothes becomes much more convenient.
Di You moved two bundles of firewood next to the tent, crawled inside, and lay down on the far right. “Let’s sleep inside tonight, that way we won’t get bitten by bugs.”
Tang Youyi immediately followed in, “Then I’ll sleep next to Di You.”
Di You noticed that Fu Man hadn’t made a move for a long time and couldn’t help but ask, “Sister Fu Man, aren’t you coming in to sleep?”
Fu Man wrinkled her brows in disdain, and was about to coldly say that there was no way she could squeeze in with them, shoulder to shoulder, feeling uncomfortable. Even if there were mosquitoes outside, they wouldn’t bite her.
Given last night’s performance, Li Yingxue probably doesn’t want to squeeze in with the two of them either.
“No need, the captain and I are sleeping outside……”
The last three words suddenly became unspeakable the moment they saw Li Yingxue bend down and step into the tent.
Di You was puzzled: “Sister Fu Man, what do you mean by saying you and the captain are going to do something?”
Inside the tent, Li Yingxue sat down next to Tang Youyi, her expression cold as she pulled down the zipper of her jacket and took it off, revealing a tight-fitting tank top that accentuated her figure. Then, Li Yingxue lowered her gaze to tidy up her jacket, folding it into a simple pillow and placing it behind her.
Fu Man withdrew her gaze from Li Yingxue and turned to Di You, her voice cold and tense as she said, “It’s nothing. I’m coming in to sleep too, but I want to sleep between Tang Youyi and the captain.”
Li Yingxue paused for a moment while arranging the pillow.
Di You glanced to the left and said, “Sister Fu Man, can’t you sleep on the far left?”
Tang Youyi was originally happy that the captain was next to her, but upon hearing this, she couldn’t help but agree with Di You: “Yeah.”
Seeing Tang Youyi glance at Li Yingxue, Fu Man said firmly, “No, I can’t get used to it.”
What this means is that she will only sleep in the middle.
Di You and Tang Youyi both fell silent. What was she not used to? Not used to sleeping on the edge?
In this quiet atmosphere, perhaps not wanting to escalate the situation, Li Yingxue silently moved the pillow to the far left, tacitly giving up her spot.
Fu Man’s thin lips curled up, and she strode in, sitting down in the spot where Li Yingxue had been. Imitating Li Yingxue’s earlier actions, she took off her coat and used it as a pillow, lying down first.
As everyone was getting ready to turn off the lights and go to sleep, Li Yingxue was the last person still awake. She cast a cold glance at Fu Man’s sleeping face, her eyes sharp one after another, but despite her grievances, she could only lie down next to Fu Man and go to sleep.
