A Snake Transmigrated as a Scum A (GL) - Chapter 24.2
Day 6.
The weather is unusually nice.
The two teams went out as usual to look for food and complete tasks.
Fu Man draped her jacket over her shoulder with one hand and walked outside. As she passed the director’s team, she vaguely heard someone say, “The generator is broken too.”
What kind of machine is a generator?
Fu Man was planning to ask someone about it, but out of the corner of her eye, she saw Li Yingxue coming out from inside. She put the matter out of her mind and turned her steps towards her.
“Captain, where do you plan to go for food today?” Fu Man asked her in a tone that was both consultative and serious.
Li Yingxue glanced at her and said, “I haven’t been to that forest in the east yet.”
Fu Man looked to the east, just a glance before her gaze returned to herself: “There’s miasma over there, we can’t go.”
Li Yingxue: “How did you know?”
Fu Man was silent for a moment, raised her chin, and said, “I just know. You should trust me.”
Li Yingxue lowered her eyes in contemplation, observing her for a while. Perhaps recalling her past abilities, she thought this person might indeed have some skills. Not insisting on going over, she said, “Then let’s change the place.”
The two entered a forest to the southeast.
Fu Man noticed that she was really aloof and didn’t like to talk, so she took the initiative to bring up a topic: “Captain, do you want to know who took our matchbox?”
Li Yingxue: “I don’t know.”
Fu Man: “Do you want to know?”
Li Yingxue suddenly stopped, turned around, and almost collided with Fu Man. Fortunately, Fu Man stood firm, and the two only ended up standing a bit closer to each other.
Li Yingxue pressed her lips together and took a step back: “Who?”
Fu Man originally intended to say it directly, but upon seeing the camera behind Li Yingxue, she changed her mind and mouthed the words.
Li Yingxue couldn’t understand: “Who?”
Fu Man leaned close to her ear, and Li Yingxue instinctively wanted to step back. But when her gaze met Fu Man’s lazy eyes, she hesitated. She really wanted to know who had taken their matchbox.
She suspects Chu Xingchun, after all, they had quite a big argument yesterday.
But it might not be the case either. Li Yingxue took a deep breath, didn’t step back, and leaned in to whisper in her ear.
Fu Man observed her struggling and hesitant expression, finding it amusing. Seeing that she no longer resisted, she slightly lowered her head and whispered three words near Li Yingxue’s delicate and fair ear—Li Shengkai—and the location where the matchbox was buried.
“Now you understand, right?” After saying this, Fu Man raised an eyebrow.
Li Yingxue’s expression was serious: “What does he want?”
“How would I know? Human thoughts are very complex.”
After saying this, Li Yingxue noticed Fu Man’s gaze slowly falling on her face, as if implying something.
“……”
“Let’s go.” Li Yingxue turned around and walked forward.
“Mm.”
The two hadn’t walked far when they heard a commotion in the forest and immediately stopped.
“It’s Chu Xingchun and Li Shengkai.” Li Yingxue stood behind a tree, looking at the two people squatting on a tree stump, observing the forest ahead.
One holding a large machete, the other holding a sharpened wooden stick.
Then, Li Yingxue followed their gazes and saw a snow-white rabbit in the forest.
It seems they are planning to hunt this rabbit.
Li Yingxue’s hand lightly rested on the tree trunk, staring at the rabbit, pondering for a moment, and was just about to give up and not compete with the other for the prey.
Just as Li Yingxue was about to turn around, an arrow whizzed past her ear with a whoosh.
Hit the target!
The rabbit fell to the ground and, after kicking its hind legs twice, it breathed its last.
“Hit the target.” Fu Man, in a good mood, put away the bow.
Li Yingxue: “……”
Fu Man noticed Li Yingxue’s gaze on her, and the corner of her mouth subtly curved up, “Dinner is all set for tonight.”
“That’s someone else’s.” Li Yingxue rubbed her temples, anticipating another argument soon.
“Whosever it is, I shot it first.” Fu Man disagreed with her statement, “It’s our prey.”
Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she saw Li Shengkai trying to take the rabbit. Fu Man’s gaze turned cold, and without a word, she raised her bow, nocked an arrow, and shot without hesitation.
The arrow feather brushed against Li Shengkai’s hand, suddenly plunging into the ground, like a silent warning.
Li Shengkai, wincing in pain, retracted his hand and took two steps back, suppressing his anger as he glared at the woman who had somehow appeared in front of him. He squinted his eyes, watching as Fu Man picked up the rabbit from the ground.
“Hey!” Li Shengkai shouted with authority, “Are you kidding me?! We clearly saw the rabbit first.”
Fu Man grabbed the two rabbit ears, weighed them a bit, and said, “Not bad.”
“What do you mean you saw it first?” Fu Man mocked, “Seeing it means it’s yours? Then I say that as soon as I arrived, I looked around the entire island, so isn’t the whole island mine?”
Li Shengkai was at a loss for words: “You—”
At this moment, Li Yingxue and Chu Xingchun also rushed over.
Li Yingxue was about to speak, but Chu Xingchun, for some unknown reason, after glancing at Fu Man, suddenly lost the anger he had just arrived with and instead pulled Li Shengkai.
“Forget it, Li Shengkai, they hunted it first, let them have it.”
Li Shengkai found it hard to believe, but couldn’t find any reason to refute it. “Brother Chu, are you really just going to give in like this? What are we supposed to eat?”
Chu Xingchun glanced at Fu Man, noticing her slightly squinted eyes. Although she showed no emotion, it inexplicably reminded him of what happened yesterday.
He grabbed him by the neck and lifted him off the ground. The marks from yesterday’s choking were still visible, and he was still haunted by the memory. Tensing his nerves, with malice in his eyes and a harsh tone, he said, “What else could it be?”
After speaking, Chu Xingchun turned around and walked away. After taking a couple of steps, he reminded Li Shengkai to catch up, “Aren’t you coming?”
Li Shengkai hesitated, but in the end, he still followed.
Li Yingxue frowned at this dramatic scene, somewhat surprised that they just left like that.
“You…” Li Yingxue lifted her eyelids and suddenly saw Fu Man staring at Chu Xingchun’s back, her expression dark. Only upon hearing her own voice did she retract her gaze.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
Li Yingxue felt complicated; this woman seemed particularly concerned about her own matters.
However, even if they seem sincere, it’s just a weasel wishing a chicken a happy new year—it’s not a good intention.
How could she ever forget that pain?
“Nothing.”
Fu Man saw her becoming distant again and thought she didn’t like her way of doing things.
Following her, I asked, “Don’t you like me doing this?”
Li Yingxue didn’t reply to her.
Fu Man stared at her back for a while, then looked at the rabbit in her hands.
“If you don’t like it, then I’ll just return it to them.”
Li Yingxue finally replied to her, “I didn’t mean it that way.”
Fu Man walked up to her, “Then why are you suddenly being cold to me? Isn’t it a good thing that I caught the rabbit? Why aren’t you happy at all?”
“Do you have a problem with me?”
Li Yingxue coldly replied with one word, “No.”
“But your eyes are clearly saying that you have a problem with me.”
“……”
Li Yingxue stopped, and Fu Man also stopped, the two of them exchanged glances.
Li Yingxue’s fingers, resting by her side, rubbed against her leg twice, as if enduring something, yet also as if hesitating to speak.
[Fight, fight!]
[Fu Man definitely has a crush on Li Yingxue; only someone with feelings would ask like that.]
[Fu Man snatched the rabbit from Chu Xingchun and Li Shengkai’s hands, so cool!]
[Archery is even cooler! Hitting the target every time!]
“I hit the nail on the head, didn’t I?”
Seeing that she couldn’t say a word for a long time, Fu Man didn’t force her either. With a light laugh, she took a step forward.
