- Chapter 1 - Dissatisfied Review
Yu Wanyin had worked many different jobs, but none were stable. Aside from work, she spent every spare moment caring for her sick younger sister in the hospital.
Her savings were quickly running dry, and she was still far from covering the cost of Xiaoya’s bone marrow transplant. The mounting pressure made her anxious—she had no idea how much longer she needed to struggle to scrape the money together.
Working as a waitress at a cruise banquet was just one of her many jobs.
Yu Wanyin had just picked up a tray of wine when a stunning woman in a long gown came hurrying toward her. The woman’s figure was delicate, her face ethereally beautiful yet tinged with panic.
Her eyes shimmered with unshed tears, framed by black satin hair that cascaded down her shoulders. Her waist was so slim that it emphasized the elegant curve of her back. Her features were doll-like, refined and delicate, creating a stark contrast with her aloof aura—an irresistible contradiction.
Qiao Sanghe’s expression was cold and distant, but her snow-white neck was flushed with an abnormal blush. Normally composed, she was clearly holding herself together with difficulty.
She’d been drugged—set up by someone with ill intentions who had deliberately separated her from her manager and assistant. If she didn’t get away quickly, things could turn dangerous.
Yu Wanyin blinked, stunned by the woman’s beauty, but quickly regained her composure and asked instinctively, “Do you need help?”
Qiao Sanghe’s lashes lowered. A faint scent of cedar drifted to her, causing her heart to race. Her skin burned unnaturally hot. Her voice, usually cool and poised, carried a trace of alcohol and was faintly slurred.
“…Can you take me to my room?”
“Yes, of course.”
Yu Wanyin noticed the woman’s glazed eyes and weak posture—clearly something was wrong. She didn’t know what had happened, but her instincts told her this woman needed help.
Just as she reached out, the delicate beauty collapsed straight into her arms.
Yu Wanyin’s heart skipped a beat, thrown into a fluster. As she helped the woman up, she finally realized why the face looked familiar—she was pretty sure this was a famous actress. But on a cruise like this, filled with socialites and celebrities, that wasn’t so surprising.
Without thinking further, she helped Qiao Sanghe toward a VIP cabin. The woman’s body was light, practically weightless against her. She carried the soft figure that radiated a faint, sweet vanilla scent, causing her cheeks to flush uncontrollably.
It was like being brushed by the softest feather—ticklish, warm, impossible to ignore.
Qiao Sanghe’s body burned, as if she were lost in a desert with no water in sight. The drug coursed through her, leaving her helpless, each wave of heat like invisible wounds cutting into her skin. She couldn’t even speak. Desperate to escape the torment, she instinctively clung to the only cool presence nearby.
Yu Wanyin could feel Qiao Sanghe leaning harder into her. The woman’s fragrance was dizzying, her touch dangerously addictive. By the time they reached the room—barely lit and completely dark inside—she was already breathless and disoriented.
With no other choice, she lifted the woman fully into her arms.
Qiao Sanghe was astonishingly light—like a fragile creature made of silk. Her lashes trembled, and the delicate expression on her face flickered between resistance and helplessness.
Yu Wanyin gently laid her on the bed and turned to leave—but just then, a hand tightly grabbed her wrist.
She looked down. The woman was clinging to her, as if refusing to let her go.
“…Hot…” the woman murmured hoarsely.
“What did you say?” Yu Wanyin leaned closer, trying to hear.
The scent of sweet vanilla overwhelmed her again. Her skin prickled with heat. Her breathing quickened involuntarily, and a sudden wave of uncontrollable desire washed over her.
Her susceptibility phase was starting—prematurely triggered by the Omega lying in front of her.
She usually took inhibitors regularly, but this month, she had skipped a dose to save money for her sister’s medical bills. She had hoped to make it through the month. Clearly, that was no longer possible.
Qiao Sanghe didn’t respond—just held her tighter.
And then they both fell onto the bed.
The sensation of soft skin, the sugary scent, the way it clung to her—it was too much. Yu Wanyin’s rational mind blurred. She knew she should stop, but the body pressed against hers was too intoxicating.
Qiao Sanghe instinctively sought relief, her hands pulling at clothes, desperate for anything to cool the fire inside her.
Yu Wanyin’s restraint crumbled. The sweetness was too deadly—like honey laced with poison. Her mind clouded. Her body moved on its own, lost in instinct.
Silk ripped. Snow-pale skin emerged. And before she knew it, they were both lost in a frenzied, uncontrollable embrace.
It was like falling into a dream made of vanilla ice cream and candy. Qiao Sanghe’s soft scent wrapped around her, dragging her deeper and deeper.
Every nerve in her body felt like it was tasting sugar for the first time. Her body responded eagerly, holding, kissing, yielding.
She had no idea how long it lasted. All she knew was the ache, the trembling, the helplessness of being lost in a tide she couldn’t fight.
Eventually, Qiao Sanghe stirred.
Her eyes fluttered open, her usually clear and calm voice now hoarse.
The room was a mess.
Her expression darkened, a cold gleam flickering in her eyes.
Whoever had dared to drug her last night—she would make them pay.
But then her gaze fell on the sleeping Alpha beside her, face still flushed with sleep.
She raised a perfectly manicured hand and gently pinched Yu Wanyin’s cheek.
With a frown, she muttered her first evaluation:
“Pretty decent face… but the skills? Seriously lacking.”
