- Chapter 10 - The Kind of Sweet You Want to Taste
Yu Wanyin’s kiss was both tender and possessive. As her lips touched the soft, pliant ones before her, it felt as though time had stopped. The most vivid sensation was the sweetness radiating from Qiao Sanghe—intoxicating and pure. Everything about the moment was perfect, like a fairytale far removed from reality, a happiness so surreal it was almost dreamlike.
Qiao Sanghe’s lips were incredibly soft, the kind of softness that drew you in and kept you hooked. Being close to her felt like an addiction. The more Yu Wanyin kissed her, the more she lost herself in it—utterly unable to stop.
But just as she was floating in this dreamlike trance, a sharp sting jolted her back to reality.
A sudden, biting pain on her lip—followed by the taste of bl00d.
Bright red bloomed between their mouths.
It was a kiss stained with bl00d.
The sight was startlingly beautiful—like a poppy in full bloom, vibrant and seductive, but laced with danger. It was breathtaking, and terrifying.
Qiao Sanghe had bitten her.
Right at the height of the kiss, at its most blissful and romantic, she had sunk her teeth into Yu Wanyin’s lip. The bl00d was warm—just like her body. Her stunning face was flushed and radiant, her seductive eyes glimmering with something wild, something dangerous.
Yu Wanyin realized then: kissing Qiao Sanghe was like being caught between heaven and hell.
There was an angel’s sweetness in her embrace—and a devil’s sting just beneath the surface.
Pleasure wrapped in pain.
The livestream chat erupted with pure chaos.
Some people were just naturally hypersensitive to the color red—and this scene was a visual explosion:
【I can’t even describe that kiss. That was wild.】
【AAAAA I’m GONE.】
【I need oxygen. Who approved this?!】
【The more dangerous, the more irresistible. I’d be Qiao-jie’s pet if she asked.】
【This kiss just ended me. Literally.】
Yu Wanyin was gasping for breath, her chest heaving. Even though the kiss had ended, her heart wouldn’t stop pounding. Especially when she looked at Qiao Sanghe—her presence made everything feel more intense, more electrified.
She clung to Qiao tightly, drawing her into her arms. She needed to hold her close—needed the warmth, the closeness, to calm the storm raging inside. The kiss had set her body ablaze, and Qiao’s dangerous teasing had only fanned the flames.
Qiao Sanghe, for her part, had always felt cold—like her body ran a few degrees below normal. But being wrapped in Yu Wanyin’s arms was like curling up next to a furnace. Her warmth seeped into Qiao’s skin, into her bones, and even drove away the eerie atmosphere of the dimly lit ballroom.
That embrace made her feel completely safe.
Qiao rarely let anyone get this close. She didn’t like touching strangers. But somehow, with Yu Wanyin… it felt right. It felt natural. She’d only ever acted like this with her.
The feeling was strange, unfamiliar, but she liked it.
Once they finally calmed down, a notification rang out—time for the next challenge.
According to the show’s rules, the two guests were now required to complete a dance task in the ballroom.
Whenever music started, they had to dance until the song ended. Between tracks, there would be a 15-minute break to rest or sample the food and drinks provided by the program.
The 11th floor was undeniably more haunting than the 12th, but the amenities were better. The real problem was…
Yu Wanyin didn’t know how to dance.
She had never been in this kind of environment, had no experience whatsoever, and was immediately out of her depth.
Qiao Sanghe noticed her awkward steps almost immediately. She could tell Yu Wanyin had no idea what she was doing. With a soft touch to her shoulder, she leaned in and whispered:
“Put your arm around my waist. Watch my movements.”
Yu Wanyin nodded, understanding that Qiao was trying to teach her. She concentrated, determined to follow. But it quickly became apparent—her body was stiff and uncoordinated. Dancing was not going to come easily.
With no better strategy, she clung to Qiao Sanghe and tried to follow her steps. But because she was moving so slowly and cautiously, she kept bumping into her—shoulders brushing, hips colliding.
Each stumble brought her body closer to Qiao’s, until the two were practically pressed together. Yu Wanyin’s tall, slender frame clung to Qiao, her hands gripping that slim waist just to keep herself upright.
“S-Sorry… I keep bumping into you.”
Yu Wanyin’s voice was small, a little embarrassed. She didn’t know how much patience Qiao Sanghe had for her, and she worried that if she crossed a line, she will be fired on the spot.
But Qiao just sighed softly. If it had been anyone else, she would’ve snapped long ago—maybe even kicked them off the show. But somehow, with Yu Wanyin… it was different.
She was different.
There was something about her—something no one else had.
Qiao took a deep breath, her sharp manicured nail gently lifting Yu Wanyin’s chin. Her tone was low and teasing, but carried a warning:
“If you don’t learn seriously… I’ll have to punish you.”
Yu Wanyin’s heart skipped a beat.
She wasn’t afraid of pain—but she was terrified Qiao might deduct her salary. She needed the money to cover her sister’s medical bills. If she messed this up, she couldn’t afford the consequences.
“I’ll take it seriously. I promise.”
Qiao led her through the steps again. If Yu Wanyin messed up, her hand—soft but unforgiving—slipped behind her and pinched her side, right through her clothes.
“Ah—!”
That hurt.
Yu Wanyin flinched, nearly yelping aloud.
Of course it would be Qiao Sanghe to come up with that kind of punishment.
After a few of those painful corrections, Yu Wanyin finally got the rhythm. Her movements grew smoother, more natural, able to match Qiao step for step.
And because of the stinging pain, she ended up holding Qiao even tighter—somehow, the sweetness of her scent soothed the ache.
But in the midst of focusing on the dance, neither of them had kept track of the songs.
Qiao sighed. “Did you catch how many songs we’ve heard? Was that a repeat or a new one?”
“All singles so far. No repeats. We’re good,” Yu Wanyin replied quickly.
She hadn’t forgotten the rules—especially since messing up might mean losing her job. Working for her boss meant staying sharp, no matter what.
When the song ended, they paused the dance and drew their next task.
Qiao Sanghe pulled a card: Feed your partner cherry cake.
She raised a brow, then shrugged. “That works. I’m starving anyway.”
Dancing had taken a toll.
After that intense round, something sweet was more than welcome.
Of course, the show wouldn’t make it easy.
The ballroom stayed completely dark—no lights allowed.
They had to feed each other cake by feel alone.
Qiao Sanghe, who had never experienced such chaos in her life, was visibly annoyed. The low visibility wasn’t total blindness, but it was just dim enough to be infuriating.
As they fumbled for the dessert, Yu Wanyin’s fingers brushed the base of the cake plate. There, she felt something carved into the bottom—a faint “1”, etched like a clue.
The show wouldn’t add random details for no reason. This had to be part of the puzzle.
Just as she opened her mouth to speak—
A huge bite of cake was shoved between her lips.
Or… mostly between her lips.
The cream splattered onto her cheek.
Yu Wanyin: “…”
Yu Wanyin murmured, a little helplessly, “It got on my face.”
“I didn’t do it on purpose! It’s pitch black in here,” Qiao retorted, for once offering a rare apology.
She grabbed a tissue and gently wiped the cream from Yu Wanyin’s cheek.
Yu Wanyin leaned in slightly. But in the dark, her sense of distance was off—her lips brushed against Qiao Sanghe’s skin by accident.
The soft, fragrant touch of her lips met smooth, powdered skin and a hint of sweet cream.
Qiao’s breath hitched.
It was the kind of sweetness that made you want to take a bite.
Yu Wanyin froze for a moment… and then softly whispered:
“…You taste really sweet.”
Qiao Sanghe: “…”
