- Chapter 23 - When the two of them are united.
Remietta Magnolia is a genius.
This was a fact that everyone, not just me, would acknowledge. Though she often seemed overshadowed by the ultra-genius Lalael, Remi’s brilliance was undeniable.
“What… what does this mean, Remietta?”
At Magnolia Manor, Grazev Magnolia, the top Mage and Remietta’s father, faced her, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
Though seated on the sofa, Grazev’s face was deathly pale, while Remietta wore a confident smile.
“I thought you might figure it out on your own, Father, but it seems I’ll have to spell it out: I would like you to step down as the head of the Magnolia family.”
“…!”
Grazev gasped at Remietta’s words, rendered speechless by her sudden declaration.
“If you refuse to yield, I will have no choice but to expose the crimes your father committed, as detailed in the documents I’ve provided.”
Remietta pointed to the stack of papers in Grazev’s hands.
These documents contained the results of Remietta’s independent investigation into the full scope of the Dragonification Experiment.
“Th-the Dragonification Experiment was conducted with the full consent of all participants! There’s no crime here!”
“Hmph. My investigation has revealed otherwise. Subject Cassina was heavily in debt to our house. Can consent obtained under such circumstances truly be considered valid? Forcing Mage Cassina into the Dragonification Experiment and transforming her into a dragon from which she could never return—that is a grave crime.”
“Guh…”
Remietta was cornering and judging her own father.
There was no hint of familial leniency in her actions. Or perhaps, offering to withhold the accusations if he yielded the position of Head of the house could be seen as a form of mercy.
“D-do you have any proof? Proof that I forced Cassina to become a subject in the Dragonification Experiment! Without solid evidence, the judiciary won’t act!”
“Let’s leave that to the national investigation. Whether there’s evidence or not, Father was conducting the Dragonification Experiment. The subject had a massive debt to our family. These are undeniable facts. Father, you understand what would happen if these facts came to light in the current climate, don’t you?”
Grazev fell into complete silence.
The Mages were already cornered due to recent events. The inhumane Dragonification Experiment that caused the Tein Cassina incident. The manipulation of my memories of resolving it to attack the Swordsman, and even worse, they let Tein escape, concealed it, and caused massive damage to the Royal Capital. The list of their blunders was endless, and the Mages’ reputation had plummeted.
With the situation already dire and any further blunders threatening to be exposed, Remietta arrived to deliver the final blow.
The scene was now entirely Remietta’s domain.
“R-Remietta! Dragonification is the pinnacle of magic! It’s the potential to transcend not just swordsmen, but everything in this world! It’s the key to us mages ruling this world! Magnolia, as the leader, could even become the king of the world! Do you understand? The sheer magnificence of this?!”
Desperately cornered, Grazev resorted to trying to persuade Remietta.
He fervently extolled the wonders of dragonification magic, attempting to draw her into his scheme.
But it was a foolish tactic, utterly ineffective.
“Well, I don’t understand at all. For me, nothing is more wonderful than spending time with the person I love.”
“Remietta?!”
“Would you please relinquish your position as Head of the House? That way, Father can enjoy a peaceful retirement. But if you refuse… Father understands, doesn’t he?”
Grazev lowered his head and fell silent.
He must have heard the sound of his carefully built power crumbling around him.
If there was a mistake, it was the Dragonification Experiment.
If he hadn’t conducted that experiment, none of this would have happened. His foolish pride—his desire to defeat the Swordsman—had led to his downfall.
“I… understand. I will relinquish my position as Head of the House to you.”
Grazev spoke, his head bowed, his face pale.
Remietta wore an utterly charming smile.
“Thank you, Father.”
“…What do you intend to accomplish by doing this?”
“…I simply want to create a better future. That’s all.”
“…I see,”
Grazev murmured, his head still bowed.
Remietta pressed further.
“Leave everything to me. I promise to restore the Mages’ reputation, which was tarnished by the Tein Cassina incident, and build a brighter future.”
“Hngh… I’m sorry,”
Grazev whispered, his voice fading into nothingness as he remained bowed.
Remietta swiftly ascended to the position of Head of the House.
She accomplished this while still enrolled at the Academy, during her third year, just before graduation.
I watched the scene unfold, disguised as a mere attendant, my face hidden. Even from my detached perspective, the sheer terror of it was palpable.
Afterward, Remietta continued to gather Mages under her banner, uniting the fractured factions into a cohesive whole.
The older generation, hardened by their animosity toward Swordsmen, was skillfully ousted using the Tein Cassina incident and the Dragonification Experiment as leverage. The younger generation, meanwhile, was personally persuaded by Remietta herself.
While Remietta unified the Mages, I wasn’t idle either.
First, I convinced Big Brother, and then, by extension, Father. Though he initially resisted the idea of befriending Mages, repeated interactions with Remietta gradually changed his mind.
With the leaders of the Swordsmen and Mages demonstrating a willingness to cooperate, and the royal family fully supporting the effort, the stage was set for a new era of harmony.
In the end, this conflict held no meaning. All that remained were the grudges of the past and petty pride. If either side had shown even a hint of willingness to compromise, things could have changed.
Three years passed…
◇
In the gentle breeze of the garden, I gazed up at the sky.
Not for any particular reason, just killing time. I’d look up until someone called me, and then I’d immediately stop.
“Sorry to keep you waiting.”
“Hey, Remi, what are you doing?”
Remi emerged from the house with a tray of tea and sweets. I hurriedly took it from her and set it on the table.
We had decided to have tea in the garden today since we had some free time, but it wasn’t right for Remi to be carrying things.
“Leave that to the servants. You shouldn’t be straining yourself.”
“I’m being careful enough. I’m practically getting lazy.”
Remietta gently stroked her noticeably swollen belly as she said this.
“Who’s really to blame here? I think it’s someone’s fault for getting me pregnant on the very day our engagement was announced.”
“Th-that’s…”
There was no arguing with that.
We had been working tirelessly to improve relations between Swordsmen and Mages, and just as our efforts were beginning to bear fruit, our engagement was announced as a final push. That night, we had s3x that night to impregnate her.
It was a crucial time, and we should have waited until things settled down before trying for a child.
But youth is impulsive, and Remi ended up pregnant at the most critical moment.
“Remi should have been able to control whether she got pregnant. Is this really all my fault?”
“…El whispered in my ear, ‘Give birth to my child.’ When a girl hears something like that, she can’t help but want to get pregnant.”
“I-is that so? Then it’s my responsibility.”
After hearing such a sweet confession, I had no choice but to take full responsibility.
I’m doing my part, and Remi’s determination to get pregnant hasn’t changed the future we’re working toward.
“I won’t be able to move much as the birth approaches. I’m counting on you.”
“Yeah, no problem. With Albeda’s help, we’re putting the final touches on dismantling the opposition.”
I’ve forged a deep alliance with my friend Albeda, the second prince.
We’re just one step away from breaking down the last pockets of stubborn resistance. Of course, old grudges won’t vanish overnight, but if we can at least show a united front, the next generation will surely bring about real change.
“Then I’ll leave everything to you.”
“Yeah, leave it to me. Just rest and take it easy. Remi, you’re small, so don’t push yourself too hard.”
For petite Remi, childbirth will be a tremendous ordeal. We’ve prepared as best we can, but my anxiety lingers.
“I’ll do my best, too. This child… is a child of hope. The child of a Swordsman and a Mage, destined to bridge the future.”
“That’s right.”
There has never been an officially recognized case of a Swordsman and a Mage having a child.
Even if such a case existed, it would have been erased, making this the first officially acknowledged instance.
Will the child inherit the Swordsman’s Fighting Spirit, the Mage’s Magical Power, or both?
Many are watching with great interest, but personally, I couldn’t care less. I only wish for the child to grow up healthy and strong. That’s all I ask.
“Well, I guess I’ll do my best. For a better future.”
“Yes… But El, to do your best, you need to have s3x with me, right?”
“…Well, that’s about right.”
“You’re hopeless. Since things are stable now, I’ll let you if you hold me gently tonight.”
“I’m eternally grateful!”
A bright future lies ahead.
To ensure that the future becomes a reality, I held Remi tightly in my arms.

●Afterword
Thank you so much for reading all the way to the end!
With this, the story is officially complete—for now!
This whole project began with one simple desire: I just wanted to write a tsundere, polite-speaking loli heroine. That was it. And somehow… it turned into this whole big story. Honestly, all I wanted was to write some sweet, fluffy lovey-dovey stuff…
Still, I’m really glad I managed to bring it to a proper ending.
While the main story is done, I might update it here and there with some extra epilogues if the mood strikes me.
There wasn’t much spicy content in the second half, so I’m planning to write more of that in the after-stories. Smut is a hobby of mine, so I’m not sure when those’ll come out, but please be patient and look forward to more steamy chapters between these two lovebirds!
I plan to keep writing these kinds of pure love stories. My past works are all in a similar vein, so if you’re craving more sweet and fluffy romance, definitely check them out!
Well then—until next time!
