A Time-Traveling Zombie Romance (GL) - Chapter 25
The cave was pitch black and cold. I quickly opened my eyes, and my vision immediately brightened.
Someone had lived here before, but they’d been gone long ago, and cobwebs had grown on some of the furniture. Inside, there was a stone bed. Straw had been spread on the door, and on the table, an oil lamp, still a little wick and oil remaining. I hurried over to place Yunxi on the bed, then took out a tinder and lit the lamp, brightening the entire cave.
“Senior Sister, Senior Sister, how are you? Ahem…” My eyes returned to their normal color, and I ran to the bedside, asking.
“Junior Brother, I’m… cold,” Yunxi shuddered.
I immediately jumped onto the bed, holding Yunxi in my arms. I pressed on Yunxi’s acupoints to stop the bleeding, and asked with concern, “Ahem, Senior Sister, are you feeling better?” “
Yes, Junior Brother… I… ahem, am I dying?” Yunxi looked at me with longing.
“No… no, Senior Sister, you won’t die,” I cried, shaking my head vigorously.
“Junior brother, don’t cry. I… I know I won’t survive this night with this injury, but I still have to tell you… ahem.” Yunxi’s eyes streamed with tears. She touched my face, wiped away the tears, and smiled wryly.
“Wow, Senior Sister, you won’t die. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have brought you here. It’s all me…” I cried. Self-blame filled my heart…
“Ahem… Junior Brother, I like you.” Yunxi smiled faintly, but the tears continued to flow.
“What?” I was stunned, my heart skipping a beat. I felt a sense of joy, but more of surprise.
“I like you. I’ve loved you for a long, long time. I love your smile, your sorrow, your tears, everything. Every time I see you, I’m so happy… I know I’m in love with you, no matter if you’re a man or a woman.” Yunxi smiled, lying in my arms.
“Senior Sister…” I stared at Yunxi, stunned, listening to this sudden confession.
“Junior brother… I know you like Miss Meng Hui, but I still can’t help but love you. Even just silently watching you from afar is enough. I’d block a sword for you, but I’ve gotten you hurt. I’m sorry,” Yunxi said.
“Senior sister, why are you so foolish? For me, is it worth it?” I cried, hugging Yunxi.
“For my silly junior brother, it’s worth it,” Yunxi smiled, but it was a happy smile.
“Senior sister…” I was moved to tears.
“Junior brother, have you ever loved… me?” Yunxi’s words were clearly struggling.
“Me?… Ugh!” Before I could finish my reply, a pair of cold, bloody lips pressed against mine, and I froze.
Yunxi had her arms around my neck and kissed me, a simple, yet passionate kiss.
“I know… I love you, that’s all,” Yunxi’s voice trailed off.
“Senior sister!” I saw Yunxi’s eyes slightly closed, and she said with a pained look.
“Master… Junior Brother, if there’s an afterlife, I want to see you again.” Yunxi chuckled bitterly. “I’m sleepy, Junior Brother, I want to sleep. Remember you still owe me a promise about whether you like me or not. In the next life, I’ll ask you in person.”
“Senior Sister, don’t sleep! Senior Sister! Woohoo!” I cried anxiously, gently shaking Yunxi.
But Yunxi didn’t respond. She simply closed her eyes, her hand clasped around mine drooping limply.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The Senior Sister I’d grown up with couldn’t just be gone like that. I gently placed my hand under Yunxi’s nose, only to find she was dead. It was like a thunderbolt had struck me, and all hope was lost.
“Senior Sister!!! Woohoo, don’t leave me alone!” I cried. Only now did I realize that Yunxi’s place in my heart far exceeded our relationship as Senior Sister and Junior Brother. My love for her had long been hidden within my heart. My heart ached, as if I were dying. I held Yunxi’s body and cried.
“Senior Sister, please don’t die! Wuuwu! Come back to life! I won’t let you die! Wuuwu~~”
Suddenly, a thought flashed through my mind. I remembered a technique I’d read about the ancient Corpse King. It said that after a person dies, if they can be transformed into a zombie, they will be resurrected.
Thinking of this, I immediately looked at Yunxi’s neck. This might be my last chance to save Senior Sister.
Determined to keep Yunxi alive, I bared my teeth without a second thought. My eyes faltered, and I hesitantly pressed my long, sharp tiger fangs against Yunxi’s fair, tender neck. With a ruthless heart, I closed my eyes and bit down. My teeth pierced the skin, drawing a small amount of bl00d, but Yunxi didn’t even blink. With a pained heart, I gently sipped the bl00d. It didn’t smell like the nasty smell of bl00d, but rather like a sweet drink. I couldn’t help but crave the taste. Then, my mind snapped back to life, and I hurriedly shook my head.
After exchanging a little bl00d with Yunxi and injecting the poison from my teeth into her, I laid her flat on the bed. I got out of bed, gathered some dry firewood, and started a fire. I
took off my outer garment to warm the fire, then removed my undershirt and covered Yunxi with it. Then I climbed back into bed, hugged her, and whispered, “Senior Sister, you must live no matter what. I won’t let you die.”
“Hiss!” I accidentally touched the wound on her abdomen, and it hurt.
But thinking of Yunxi blocking the sword for me, tears welled up in my eyes, and I hugged her even tighter. I
was lost in thought. When did Senior Sister’s feelings for me change?
Could it be…
I remember when I was ten years old, I took Yunxi to the summit to watch the sunrise, and jokingly said, “Senior Sister, you’re so beautiful. If I were a man, I would definitely marry you.”
Yunxi blushed for a long time at my words. From then on, there was another emotion in her eyes when she looked at me, but I never imagined it was love.
Thinking back to Yunxi’s confession, I felt a pang of hatred for myself. I hated myself for betraying her love for years.
I recalled Yunxi’s words to me at the inn in Anle Village, saying she wanted to walk freely between heaven and earth. Such clear words, yet I hadn’t heard them. I couldn’t help but curse myself for being so stupid…
“Senior Sister, I’m afraid I’ll never be able to repay your love for me in this lifetime,” I said, lost in thought, caressing Yunxi’s delicate face.
The cold cave had numbed the pain in my body. Yunxi’s confession had warmed my heart, but her death had pierced it again. I felt a mixture of emotions. I owed you so much…
I didn’t know when I fell asleep. All I knew was that in this cold cave, I was holding someone, someone who had protected me since childhood. I felt safe in her presence, and I didn’t want to let her go for even a moment… I
heard someone calling me, and I struggled to open my eyes. “Where is this?”
“Stingy! Stingy, you’re finally awake!” The familiar voice made me realize I wasn’t dreaming.
I sat up slowly, and Qingyang hugged me, “Stingy guy, you worried me to death, woo woo. You are so mean~~” I felt something wet on my neck, and then I realized that Qingyang was crying.
“Be good, don’t cry. Am I awake?” I patted Qingyang’s back comfortingly and said.
“Young Master, you’re okay.” Seeing this, Xu Rui ran to the bedside and said.
“Well, why am I here?”
“Everyone was waiting for you last night, and it was very late when you didn’t come back. Everyone was very anxious, so they came out to look for you. They found Mrs. Jin’s body next to Mrs. Jin’s tomb, and then we followed the bl00d trail all the way to find you.” Xu Rui said with his head down.
“Where are Lin Ji and the others?” I asked hurriedly.
“They, they don’t know what happened, they have black nails on their hands, and their eyeballs turn black and red. Now they are practicing internal energy to resist the poison in the room. I’m afraid they won’t be able to hold on for much longer.”
“Their eyes turned red?! By the way, I got the antidote. You give them some of the antidote in this bottle, and they will be fine soon.”
“Okay, I’ll go right away.” Xu Rui saw the antidote, his face lit up with joy, and he ran away in a hurry.
“Qingyang, where is Senior Sister? How is Senior Sister?” I asked Qingyang hurriedly.
“Miss Yunxi, she…”
“What happened to Senior Sister? Say something!!”
“She’s dead.” Qingyang said weakly.
“Impossible!! How could it be?! How could she die?” I was so scared that I got out of bed and ran to Yunxi’s room regardless of my injuries.
“Stingy guy!!!”
