A White Cloud (GL ABO) - Chapter 33
Tomb Cheng stayed away for a long time.
Shen Zhiqing hugged Bread on the small sofa for the same amount of time.
Shen Zhiqing, wearing a robe, curled her legs on the sofa and asked, “Bread, where did she go?”
Xu Yiyi’s room stayed quiet.
Shen Zhiqing checked earlier and saw her sleeping soundly.
Children need ample sleep, especially Xu Yiyi, who lived in constant insecurity and struggled to lower her guard.
But as a child, Xu Yiyi lost her defenses around trusted people.
Tomb Cheng’s lingering scent in the air likely helped.
Xu Yiyi never had nightmares here.
Bread meowed, tugging Shen Zhiqing’s robe hem, lounging lazily in her lap with squinting blue eyes.
The Ragdoll cat looked beautiful.
Shen Zhiqing understood why Xu Yiyi treated it as a friend.
While she daydreamed, a ding echoed in the quiet hallway.
The elevator arrived.
Tomb Cheng returned!
Realizing this, Shen Zhiqing stood lightly to open the door, planning a surprise.
She smiled, carrying a mix of complaints about her lover’s late return, and walked over.
The door opened.
Shen Zhiqing’s expression froze.
Tomb Cheng held a woman in her arms.
In the late-night silence, Bread broke the tension with a meow.
Tomb Cheng supported Zhiman out of the elevator.
Zhiman, shaken and weak, looked surprised upon seeing Shen Zhiqing and asked, “You two?”
Tomb Cheng explained quickly, “We’re neighbors.”
Seeing Tomb Cheng’s anxious explanation, Shen Zhiqing felt stifled.
She stepped forward, eyeing Zhiman’s pale face, but asked Tomb Cheng, “Will she rest here?”
Tomb Cheng didn’t expect Shen Zhiqing’s blunt words.
She brought Zhiman back but hadn’t decided what to do, hesitating momentarily.
Shen Zhiqing offered, “Come to my place?”
Zhiman wore clean clothes.
The bl00d smell had faded during the journey.
The woman, earlier elegant, now appeared fragile, stirring pity in anyone.
Zhiman looked at Tomb Cheng, her eyes full of trust.
Shen Zhiqing watched their interaction, clenching her fists.
Tomb Cheng glanced at Shen Zhiqing’s calm face and agreed.
She brought Zhiman back, thinking Shen Zhiqing, who knew her, wouldn’t ignore her.
Bread’s cat bed moved temporarily outside Xu Yiyi’s room.
Tomb Cheng showered quickly, changed into clean clothes, and brought two cups of hot milk.
Tomb Cheng entered and offered a milk cup to Shen Zhiqing, her eyes scanning the room, asking, “Dr. Shen, need my help?”
Shen Zhiqing took the cup, sniffing subtly.
No trace of another’s scent lingered on the Alpha, easing her slightly.
Still, she grumbled, “Help with what? In the bathroom?”
She regretted her teasing words instantly.
The silly Alpha choked silently, timidly glancing at her face.
Tomb Cheng, at the door, looked confused.
Shen Zhiqing glared, huffed lightly, and turned, holding the milk, walking inside.
She said, “Come in.”
Tomb Cheng followed nervously, her obedience to Shen Zhiqing ingrained.
Zhiman showered.
The bathroom glowed warmly, steam curling.
Light spilled through the door crack, casting her shadow on the floor.
The sound of dripping water mixed with the humid air.
Shen Zhiqing sat on the bed, holding the milk, tapping her phone.
Her fingers pressed harder than usual, showing anger and reluctance.
Sent messages left faint prints on the screen, fading quickly.
The other person, still awake, texted, “You mean Zhiman?”
They roamed some late-night scenes.
Shen Zhiqing typed furiously.
She wrote, “Senior, don’t you care about your patient’s condition?”
In a bar, Su Jue kissed a woman on her lap, coaxing softly, “Baby, get me another drink, okay?”
The Omega pouted, “You always boss me around.” Still, she released Su Jue’s neck and went to the bar.
Su Jue nodded to her tablemates, found a quiet spot, and called Shen Zhiqing.
The call got rejected instantly.
Confused, Su Jue received Shen Zhiqing’s message.
Shen Zhiqing wrote, “Can’t talk.”
Su Jue thought, “What?”
Already out, Su Jue didn’t rush back and asked what happened.
Half a second later, Shen Zhiqing replied quickly.
She wrote, “Zhiman doesn’t look good. Did you know?”
Su Jue defended herself.
She wrote, “She hasn’t come in nearly a month. Not my fault.”
Feeling it wasn’t enough, she added.
She wrote, “You know I can’t force her to come, right?”
Zhiman was Su Jue’s patient.
For various reasons, Shen Zhiqing and Zhiman weren’t doctors and patients.
Though Su Jue had valid reasons, Shen Zhiqing urged her to check Zhiman carefully tomorrow.
Shen Zhiqing wrote, “Tomorrow, I’ll bring her to the hospital. She’s at my place now.”
Su Jue nearly dropped her smartwatch in shock.
She thought, “Is this my aloof junior?”
Embarrassingly, after years, she didn’t even know Shen Zhiqing’s address, let alone visit.
Before Su Jue could pry, Shen Zhiqing cut off communication.
Su Jue confirmed it was her ruthless junior.
Su Jue rubbed her nose awkwardly and returned to the nightlife.
The bathroom water stopped. Shen Zhiqing’s hand tightened slightly on the milk cup.
Zhiman stepped out, saying, “Tomb Cheng, you’re still here?”
Her figure matched Shen Zhiqing’s.
Shen Zhiqing’s robe fit her, though tight at the chest, otherwise suitable.
Tomb Cheng pointed to the milk on the nightstand, saying, “I was worried, so I checked.”
Zhiman’s hair dripped wetly.
Shen Zhiqing glanced once, then stood abruptly, pulling her back to the bathroom.
Zhiman stammered, “Hey, hey?” Her towel nearly fell as she swayed.
Shen Zhiqing dragged her inside, opened a drawer, and shoved a hairdryer into her hands.
Her face stayed cold, her tone sharp, “Dry your hair before coming out.”
As she spoke, she tugged Zhiman’s robe tighter.
