A White Cloud (GL ABO) - Chapter 67
Thud—
Shen Zhiqing endured the pain, lifted her head, and glared at the person sitting there.
Tomb Cheng met her eyes.
Doctor Shen’s gaze shimmered with tears, her lips parting silently in complaint.
“It hurts!” she said.
In her haste, Tomb Cheng hadn’t controlled her strength.
She pressed Shen Zhiqing’s shoulders, pushing her down.
Shen Zhiqing’s shoulders ached, and the sudden force filled the delicate Omega’s eyes with tears.
“Mommy?” Xu Yiyi called.
Tomb Cheng sat upright on the sofa, her poised demeanor making Xu Yiyi think she’d misseen.
Xu Yiyi rubbed her eyes, forgetting the afternoon’s events.
“Mommy?” she repeated.
Tomb Cheng spread her legs, letting Shen Zhiqing sit on her lap, and turned her head.
“Yes, Yiyi, what’s up?” she asked.
The sleepy child, caught off guard, trembled at a strange sensation in her body.
Tomb Cheng tried to stand, but Shen Zhiqing grabbed her shirt hem.
“No,” she mouthed, stopping her.
Tomb Cheng hesitated, her gaze shifting to her daughter, who clutched her small fists and scurried to the bathroom.
What was wrong?
Xu Yiyi, night-blind, didn’t notice her Doctor Aunt sitting with her mom.
She hid her face shyly in the bathroom.
At school, she learned to eat and dress herself.
She knew she was slower than others, but her mom prepared her clothes and essentials daily.
She recalled Doctor Aunt’s words from a month ago at the hospital.
“She’ll always be proud of Yiyi growing up. She’s your mommy—no one can take her away,” she had said.
Doctor Aunt spoke gently, patting her head.
Xu Yiyi didn’t pull away, thinking it must be the cat scent on her.
She loved that pretty cat.
Emerging from the bathroom, Xu Yiyi shuffled to her room, her red face screaming shyness.
Tomb Cheng crouched before her, smiling to ease her daughter’s embarrassment.
She coaxed softly, “Yiyi, going to bed now?” she asked.
“Mm…” Xu Yiyi nodded, her bright eyes expectant.
Tomb Cheng smiled warmly, scooped her daughter up, and carried her to her room, stroking her back.
“My baby’s amazing, growing up so well,” she said.
Xu Yiyi no longer needed constant watching.
She buried her face in Tomb Cheng’s neck, asking in a soft voice, “Mommy, was that Doctor Aunt’s cat earlier?” she said.
She vaguely saw something slip off her mom, thinking her sudden appearance scared the cat, feeling a bit disappointed.
“Is the cat mad at me?” she asked timidly.
Tomb Cheng hugged her daughter into the room, gently closing the door.
She soothed, “The cat’s not mad at you,” she said.
“Why not?” Xu Yiyi asked, unconvinced, clutching the blanket, her unease clear.
Tomb Cheng tucked her in, softening her voice to explain patiently.
“Because the cat told me. She said she likes you,” she said.
“She likes you, little Xu Yiyi,” she added.
“Really?!” Xu Yiyi exclaimed.
Tomb Cheng hooked her finger, lightly tapping her nose, her tone confident.
“Of course, she told me herself,” she said.
Reassured by her mom, Xu Yiyi soon hugged her raccoon and panda toys, falling asleep.
Tomb Cheng left a small bedside lamp on as usual.
The warm yellow light made the playful room feel cozy.
Tomb Cheng stepped out quietly.
Turning, she saw Shen Zhiqing still sitting on the floor, waiting expectantly.
“Why not get up?” Tomb Cheng asked, lowering her voice, sounding lively.
Shen Zhiqing raised her head, stretching out her arms. “Hug me~” she said.
Tomb Cheng looked down at her, raising an eyebrow, unmoved.
“Mu Mu~” Shen Zhiqing called again, her voice dripping with charm.
Tomb Cheng stifled a laugh, keeping a straight face as she sat back on the sofa.
Shen Zhiqing climbed onto her lap, her bright eyes fixed on her.
She seemed ready to stay there stubbornly if Tomb Cheng didn’t hug her.
Tomb Cheng found it amusing.
When had Shen Zhiqing ever been so shameless before her?
Was she jealous of the child?
She cleared her throat, teasing as she pulled Shen Zhiqing up from the floor.
“Doctor Shen, a grown woman acting spoiled—aren’t you embarrassed?” she said mockingly.
Shen Zhiqing stayed silent.
Having achieved her goal, Doctor Shen ignored the playful jab.
She shamelessly kissed Tomb Cheng’s cheek.
“Embarrassment won’t win a girlfriend,” she said.
“Cough, cough,” Tomb Cheng sputtered, startled by her boldness.
She suppressed her racing heart, her ears and neck flushing.
One hand held Shen Zhiqing’s waist, the other shyly touched her nose.
Shen Zhiqing, delighted by her shy awkwardness, boldly whispered in her ear.
Her clear, melodious voice, like a lark, sang sweetly into her ear.
Tomb Cheng’s face burned red.
Shen Zhiqing climbed her shoulders, pressing her thin lips to her earlobe, speaking clearly.
“Mu Mu, am I your little cat?” she asked.
“Mu Mu, your cat’s wet now. Want to touch her?” she teased.
“Mu Mu, touch me, okay?” she urged.
Shen Zhiqing’s charm, honed by time, shone.
At thirty, her beauty, though well-preserved, differed from youth—not less beautiful, but more sensual and alluring.
Tomb Cheng couldn’t meet her amorous eyes, fearing she’d fall into their tender whirlpool.
Shen Zhiqing’s matured body, every inch of her breathing skin, flaunted its delicate beauty.
Her eyelids shimmered with desire, her gaze misty with allure.
Tomb Cheng stood abruptly from the sofa, stumbling toward the room with her.
Shen Zhiqing’s soft laugh revealed dimples.
She pressed her cheek to Tomb Cheng’s, her legs wrapping around her toned waist.
Behind silver glasses, Tomb Cheng glanced at her, desire sparked by Shen Zhiqing filling her deep, vast eyes, reflecting her face.
Tomb Cheng’s lashes fluttered, her throat itchy, her voice husky.
She shifted her gaze from Shen Zhiqing’s face, shyly.
“You,” she said questioningly.
Shen Zhiqing smiled, her eyes curving into crescents, gazing only at her.
Her lingering affection captured her mood in her eyes.
“Hm?” she replied.
Tomb Cheng mustered courage, her tone soft, lacking Alpha dominance, as nervous as her first confession to Shen Zhiqing.
She frowned, setting Shen Zhiqing on the bed.
Shen Zhiqing kept her arms around her neck.
One lying, one kneeling, they gazed at each other.
Suddenly, Shen Zhiqing leaned up, kissing her lips, soothing the Alpha’s doubts with her tenderness.
“Mu Mu, whatever you want to say, I’ll answer,” she said.
“As long as it’s you, I’m willing to do anything,” she added.
