A Woman Who Hates Women (GL) - Chapter 1
This new neighbor is beautiful, but her face looks a bit sour.
This famous restaurant is always bustling, especially during mealtimes when it gets really lively. Waiters with menus skillfully weave through the narrow aisles.
A young woman in a white dress stood at the entrance, looking around with her bag in hand.
“Li Jia, over here!” someone called out, waving.
Li Jia, who was standing at the door, looked towards the source of the voice and immediately put on a perfect smile, walking over with long strides.
I thought she would come too…
Li Jia glanced around the crowd before taking a seat.
Because there were many people, the gathering was at a long table. The person sitting opposite her was a tall, sturdy, and overweight man. He stood up, picked up the wine pitcher on the table, and immediately filled the glass in front of her. He looked at Li Jia, his mouth wide in a grin, and said in a strange tone:
“Our beautiful Li Jia is really busy! We’ve called for class reunions so many times, and she finally decided to grace us with her presence this time, hahaha…”
Li Jia had always been the school’s beauty queen. Even after graduation, her pictures were still posted on the campus’s confession wall. Years had passed, and at twenty-seven, she had shed her youthful naiveté and become even more mature and stunning.
Li Jia found the person in front of her somewhat familiar, but she couldn’t recall his name.
To avoid awkwardness, Li Jia simply looked at him calmly and offered a polite, distant smile.
Seeing that Li Jia didn’t respond, the overweight man felt he had embarrassed himself. He sat back down and finished the glass of wine in front of him in one gulp.
The girl who had waved at Li Jia earlier was sitting to her left. She gently nudged Li Jia’s arm and whispered, “Don’t you remember him? He was the class’s study representative before.”
The study representative? I remember him being a thin boy!
Li Jia whispered, “His physique…?”
“Old men gain weight in middle age, just ignore him. He’s really annoying.”
“Mm,” Li Jia replied softly, then looked up at the girl again and smiled, “You’ve changed so much over the years.”
“Became more beautiful, right, my old deskmate?”
Being complimented on beauty by a beautiful person is truly delightful.
“Oh dear, no, no…” Zhang Hui held her face, a little shy. After a moment, she looked at Li Jia expectantly and asked, “Are you serious?”
Zhang Hui had a baby face and wasn’t very tall, which always made people think she was young. In high school, she was called a “primary school student.” After so many years, with mature makeup and attire, she finally looked like an adult.
“Of course, I’m serious!” Li Jia said with a sincere expression, generously complimenting Zhang Hui’s obviously newly done hair, “Hey, your hairstyle is great! Where did you get it done? Please recommend it!”
“Of course! It cost me a lot of money! Let me tell you, that salon requires advance booking…”
Zhang Hui immediately flipped a strand of hair in front of her chest, talking animatedly about how she had sat on that damn chair in the hair salon for four hours to get the result.
Actually, these high school reunions weren’t very interesting. The men gathered to drink and brag, while the women chatted with their close friends.
Li Jia and Zhang Hui, who used to be deskmates, got together and chatted like they used to during study hall, going from hairstyles to facial care and then quickly to shopping.
The atmosphere had been harmonious from the beginning until some people gradually got drunk and started saying things they shouldn’t.
A thin, pale man with glasses, looking refined in a white shirt, swayed over to Li Jia’s side. He tapped the table in front of her and mumbled her name, “Li Jia…”
Li Jia turned her head to look at him, slowly losing the smile on her face. She remembered that this person had been sitting in the corner when she came in, with a very low presence.
He was clearly drunk, his face flushed red, and his glasses were about to slide off his nose. Not hearing Li Jia’s reply, he slammed the table and shouted:
“Li Jia!”
The moment he hit the table, the dishes clinked together, vibrating on the surface.
The noise was significant, and everyone at the table looked at him.
Li Jia looked at the drunk making a scene in front of her and felt utterly bewildered. She had no recollection of this person.
Zhang Hui leaned close to Li Jia’s ear and said, “You probably don’t remember… his name is Wang Hua. He used to chase after you and brought you breakfast for a week.” Of course, Li Jia had rejected him mercilessly, and all those breakfasts ended up in Zhang Hui’s stomach.
Wang Hua didn’t care if Li Jia acknowledged him or not. He just hiccuped and said to himself, “I heard… hic… I heard you were with a woman before? You’ve broken up now, right…”
As soon as these words came out, everyone’s attention shifted to Li Jia again. Haiyue University was among the top ten universities in the country and relatively close to home. Many high school classmates chose to study nearby, so the news that Li Jia had a girlfriend in college had naturally spread back.
Many people knew that Li Jia was a lesbian.
Now, not only did no one stop Wang Hua, but many people were also looking forward to a spectacle.
Li Jia raised an eyebrow and retorted coldly, “What’s it to you?”
“Try men!”
Wang Hua, reeking of alcohol, patted his chest earnestly and advised, “Try men, and you’ll know how good men are!”
“Hahahaha hehehe…!!!”
Several vulgar male classmates burst into laughter.
“That’s right! Men are so good! You have to find a man to experience true pleasure!!”
“Hahaha, you have to try it to know! Practice makes perfect…”
Before Li Jia could speak, Zhang Hui couldn’t take it anymore. The small girl stood up, tilted her head back, and started scolding, “Wang Hua, why are you pounding your chest and acting crazy! Doesn’t your wife know you’re saying this nonsense here?! Besides, even if she were to try men, it wouldn’t be your turn!”
Zhang Hui’s eyes widened, and she launched into a rapid-fire barrage of personal insults:
“Ha! You drank two taels of cat piss and think you can do whatever you want! Does your wife know you’re saying this crap here?! Moreover, even if it were about trying men, it wouldn’t be you!
Go look in the mirror in the bathroom and see your pathetic face! Only your kind-hearted and blind wife would unfortunately fall for a dog like you!! Otherwise, who would fancy you, you brainless idiot! Are you even a man?”
After this rapid-fire speech, Zhang Hui paused to catch her breath and then spat out a vicious “Pui!”
Zhang Hui also had a nickname, “Human-shaped Little Cannon.” She would argue with anyone! Her best record was one against five, and she once scolded the fierce and stern dean of students until he lowered his head in admission of fault. Wang Hua had run straight into her gun.
“You… you…” Wang Hua, sprayed with saliva, turned pale. He took a step back in fear, staggered, almost fell, and awkwardly held onto the back of a chair to barely stay standing.
Li Jia held down Zhang Hui, who wanted to continue her verbal assault. Instead, she raised her eyes to Wang Hua, her tone suddenly softening. She said calmly, “You are Wang Hua.”
Hearing Li Jia’s gentle voice, Wang Hua, who had been looking dejected after being scolded, felt a glimmer of hope. He looked surprised and pleased, “Yes, yes, I am Wang Hua.”
“…I didn’t expect you to still remember me.” Wang Hua was a little awkward and even seemed shy.
What act is this now…?
Everyone watched this scene in a daze. Seeing Wang Hua’s disgusting appearance, Zhang Hui rolled her eyes dramatically.
“You said men are very good, right?” Wang Hua didn’t notice that the expression on Li Jia’s face had already turned gloomy and disdainful. She picked up the glass of red wine on the table, turned sideways to look at Wang Hua, and asked, “It seems you know what’s good about men?”
Looking at Li Jia’s delicate and beautiful face, a wicked thought arose in Wang Hua’s mind. A lewd smile appeared on his usually refined face, “Hehe! How good men are can only be understood implicitly, you have to try it yourself to…”
“You speak so highly of it, it seems you’ve experienced it personally!” Li Jia said, finally unable to suppress her anger. She stood up quickly and kicked away the chair Wang Hua was leaning on.
“Ouch!”
In the next second, Wang Hua fell backward onto the ground like a turtle on its back, his glasses flying to the side.
“People who have been nourished by men are indeed different, they can’t even stand properly!”
Li Jia said loudly in a sarcastic tone, determined to make everyone present hear what she had just said.
That wasn’t the end of it. The glass of red wine in Li Jia’s hand flew out, the wine splashing all over Wang Hua. Finally, she even accurately threw the empty wine glass at his face.
Li Jia picked up her bag and walked out. Suddenly, she stopped and her gaze swept across the faces of the male classmates who had chimed in earlier. They quickly lowered their heads, not daring to meet her eyes.
Humph! Men! All a bunch of cowardly bullies!
Li Jia sneered, her expression mocking.
She turned her head and put on a different face, saying softly to Zhang Hui, “Didn’t you say you wanted to go shopping?”
“Oh! Coming!” Zhang Hui immediately packed her things and left. As she passed by Wang Hua, she even gave him a kick and cursed, “Pui! I thought it was strange for such a big man to keep talking about how good men are! Turns out he’s a dead pervert!”
After Li Jia and Zhang Hui left, a burst of laughter erupted in the quiet hall.
“Hahahaha…!!!”
Everyone laughed for a long time. Finally, someone thought of helping Wang Hua up from the ground, only to find that he had passed out. Whether he was truly unconscious or just pretending, it was probably better for him to be unconscious in this situation.
…
“What disgusting trash, so unlucky!” Zhang Hui sat in the passenger seat, still indignant.
“Alright, stop thinking about that garbage. It’ll ruin your mood.” Li Jia smiled and adjusted the rearview mirror, noticing that Zhang Hui hadn’t fastened her seatbelt, she reminded her, “Buckle up.”
Zhang Hui fastened her seatbelt, and the car started.
Entering the traffic flow, Li Jia gripped the steering wheel tightly and sincerely thanked her, “Xiao Hui, just now… thank you, thank you for speaking up for me.”
“Tch! What’s there to thank? If I don’t speak up for you, who will?” Zhang Hui waved her hand, indicating it was nothing.
The atmosphere in the car suddenly became strangely quiet.
After a while, Zhang Hui suddenly asked cautiously, “Li Jia, do you… really like women?”
Li Jia smiled, “Didn’t you already know? Why ask?”
Zhang Hui said nervously, “I knew, but I was young then, I thought you were joking!”
Who knew it was true!
At a red light at the intersection, Li Jia slowly pressed the brake, saying nonchalantly, “Well, now you know.”
Knowing was one thing, but Zhang Hui suddenly crossed her arms defensively, looking at Li Jia with a complex and wary expression, “Oh—oh! You wouldn’t have fallen in love with me just because I stood up for you, would you?!”
“…” Li Jia’s hands remained on the steering wheel. She turned her head silently and glanced at her.
The complex look conveyed a rather impolite answer.
How could you possibly think I would fancy you?
Zhang Hui met her gaze and instantly broke down, slapping her thighs repeatedly and yelling in the car, “Ahhhh! What kind of look is that! It’s so hurtful! Fine! I know you don’t like me, okay!”
What’s the big deal?!
The human-shaped little cannon, Zhang Hui, was so angry she looked like a pufferfish.
Li Jia bought her a bag as an apology and then took her to a high-end restaurant where they were happily ripped off. The ambiance was nice, the food was fragrant, and there were no disgusting, low-class men. Li Jia drank quite a bit of wine there, and in the end, her girlfriend came to pick her up from the restaurant.
“Maybe the next time we meet will be at my wedding!” Zhang Hui said.
Li Jia was a little surprised, “You’re getting married?”
Zhang Hui had previously declared emphatically that she was absolutely against marriage. So even though she had a boyfriend, Li Jia hadn’t expected her to want to get married. After all, marriage was marriage, and dating was dating, two separate things.
Zhang Hui chuckled, seeming a little shy, “Not yet, but it’s coming soon! Bye-bye, let’s hang out again next time!”
“Bye-bye! Looking forward to your good news!” Li Jia smiled too.
Afterward, Zhang Hui happily got into her boyfriend’s car, carrying her new bag.
In the end, Li Jia, who had been drinking, had to call for a designated driver.
