When I opened the door, I saw Shen’s mother holding a small tray with two cups of milk on it. She smiled gently at me.

“Have a cup of milk before bed. It helps with sleep.”

I looked at the two cups of milk and at Shen’s mother’s elegant appearance, feeling so awkward that my toes were curling.

I’m crazy! I should have just cursed at Shen Shiyi and not involved her family! And of course, now I have to face her family.

“Okay, thank you, Auntie,” I quickly said. I only planned to take one cup, but to my surprise, Shen’s mother handed the entire tray to me.

“Please take the other one to Yiyi. I’m going back to wash up and go to bed.
