ABO: A Debt to Repay - Chapter 11
Even without asking, Xu Xi could already guess that this probably had something to do with Zhao Yuran—most likely something connected to her relationship with He Lin.
Before Xu Xi could figure out exactly what was going on, a classmate approached her.
The person was Liu Mianmian, the class publicity rep, an Omega girl. Though they hadn’t interacted much, she had always been friendly toward her.
“Class rep, did you see the photos going viral in the school group chat? Someone anonymously accused you of cozying up to a sugar daddy. If it were just baseless talk, it might not have blown up, but the pictures they posted… they’re surprisingly clear.”
“What pictures?”
The girl pulled them up on her phone to show Xu Xi. There wasn’t just one—some showed her in the car with He Lin, others showed He Lin carrying her. The images were slightly blurry, but still clear enough to recognize them both.
The comments in the group were vile. Insults filled the screen—ugly, crude things being said about her.
If this went on, as an Omega, her reputation could be completely ruined. It might even affect her future.
Seeing the look on her face, Liu Mianmian said cautiously, “I don’t really believe what they’re saying. I just wanted to ask… are you in some kind of trouble?”
Xu Xi looked at her. She seemed slightly embarrassed.
“You might not remember,” she added, “but when my parents got divorced, you comforted me. I thought you were a really good person. I may not have much, but I do have money—if you need help, I can support you.”
Xu Xi had assumed she came to gossip—she didn’t expect her to offer help instead. She was touched. She explained softly, “It’s okay. The pictures… they are real, and the person who posted them… what they said is partially true. But I have my reasons.”
Realizing that she clearly had difficulties she wasn’t ready to talk about, Liu Mianmian nodded understandingly. “Alright. But if you ever need help, just come find me. I mean it.”
“Thank you,” Xu Xi said sincerely.
Just as Xu Xi had suspected, the photos really did stem from her connection with He Lin.
She had mentally prepared herself for this when she agreed to He Lin’s proposal, but she didn’t expect the fallout to come so quickly.
Now that there were photos and public accusations, it wasn’t something she could easily explain away. In a different time, transferring schools might have been the best option, but with the college entrance exam approaching, she didn’t want to disrupt her studies. If things really got bad, she might have no choice but to go home.
Xu Xi tried to ignore the rumors and bury herself in studying. But while she wanted to lie low, others wouldn’t let her.
After school, she was cornered in a secluded alley near campus.
Even though No. 1 High was a prestigious school, it still had its share of delinquents.
The ringleader was none other than Yao Xing, a well-known school thug.
Xu Xi had been cornered by him once back in his first year—but back then, it was a confession. Knowing that rejecting Yao Xing outright would lead to trouble, she had lied, claiming she had a chronic illness. Only then did Yao Xing reluctantly back off.
But this time felt far more dangerous.
Xu Xi forced herself to stay calm. Looking at the smug expression on Yao Xing’s face, she asked, “What do you want?”
Yao Xing sneered. “Oh, you don’t know? Didn’t you say you were sick? But turns out you just preferred rich guys, huh? So, you turned me down because I didn’t pay up? Tell me, how much for a night with you? My bros and I have cash—we just wanna get a taste.”
His words were disgusting.
Hidden beneath the folds of her school uniform, Xu Xi quietly tried to call the police, relying on muscle memory alone. But one of the lackeys noticed.
They grabbed her phone and kicked it far away.
No one noticed that the screen had lit up, displaying the name “He Lin” on an incoming call.
Fear and panic surged through Xu Xi. She trembled, voice shaking: “There is no sugar daddy. Please let me go.”
“You’re already here. Why leave now?”
Yao Xing stepped closer, pinching Xu Xi’s cheek with regret in his eyes.
“Damn it! If I’d known you were this easy, I would’ve just taken you back then. Who knows how many people have had you by now? You probably have something, don’t you?”
Xu Xi went pale. Despair began to set in. For a moment, she even considered nodding—saying she really did have a disease, if only it would make them back off.
“I… I do. Please, I’m begging you. Let me go…”
“Oh yeah? You say you do? Then let’s take a look ourselves—strip her!”
Yao Xing stepped back, giving way to the others who moved forward to tear at Xu Xi’s clothes.
Xu Xi struggled like mad, but how could an Omega stand a chance against a group of Alphas?
“Stop! Let me go! Get away from me!”
Tears streamed down her face in sheer panic. Without thinking, she shouted a name from the depths of her fear—
“He Lin! Save me!”
And, like a miracle, the next second the boys guarding the alley’s entrance were kicked aside.
Everyone froze and looked toward the opening.
A cheerful voice rang out: “Wow, I’ve been out of school for years, and somehow I’m still getting dragged into these childish brawls!”
Xu Xi wiped her tears and looked up—it was He Lin’s friend, the baby-faced Su Huaizhi!
Su Huaizhi flexed his wrists and ankles, then launched another kick—sending someone flying.
Seeing Xu Xi’s shocked gaze, he teased, “Don’t look at me like that. He’ll get jealous. Just stay there—your precious He Lin will be here any second now!”
Right as he finished speaking, an overwhelming Alpha pheromone pressure rolled in, suffocating and inescapable. The air turned thick with the scent of pine, making the thugs clutch their heads and groan in pain.
Even Su Huaizhi flinched and took a step back.
And then, through the haze, Xu Xi saw that familiar figure.
She ran toward him and threw herself into He Lin’s arms.
“You’re finally here, He Lin!”
