ABO: A Debt to Repay - Chapter 20
It was the first time Xu Xi had ever seen He Lin truly angry, and the force of his roar startled her.
Shen Chong’an stood up, pressing his tongue to the side of his injured cheek and wiping the bl00d from the corner of his mouth. He said calmly, “Don’t scare her.”
He shouldn’t have spoken.
The moment he did, He Lin’s fury surged again. He kicked a nearby stool and shouted, “He’s my Omega. I’ll handle her however I damn well please. Who are you to speak?!”
He Lin’s voice turned colder. “Let me tell you something—if not for my brother’s sake, I’d have beaten the crap out of you. So, stay the hell away from her!”
With that, He Lin grabbed Xu Xi’s wrist and dragged her away.
Amid the stares of others, Shen Chong’an remained composed. To the bar owner who rushed over, he said courteously, “Apologies for the trouble. I’ll cover the damages.”
…
He Lin dragged Xu Xi all the way out, gripping her wrist so tightly it hurt. Xu Xi struggled instinctively, but He Lin shot her a warning glare and tightened her grip even more.
He Lin flung open the car door and shoved Xu Xi inside, then got in from the other side. He said nothing, but his expression was as dark as a storm cloud. The car sped up dangerously.
Xu Xi, worried about their safety, whispered, “Can you slow down a little…”
“Shut up!” He Lin snapped.
The rage in He Lin’s voice terrified Xu Xi. She shrank back, trying to make herself smaller. But when they arrived at He Lin’s villa, Xu Xi looked at He Lin’s stormy face and finally mustered the courage to explain.
“We were having a class reunion at the KTV. I just ran into Shen ge—”
“You’re still calling him Shen ge?” He Lin cut her off coldly.
He yanked Xu Xi out of the car with one hand and dragged her into the bedroom. Sensing the severity of the situation, Xu Xi stopped explaining and quickly tried to apologize.
“I’m sorry, He Lin. I shouldn’t have gone to the KTV without telling you. I just… we’d been through similar experiences, and we only talked a little. Please don’t be mad, okay?”
But He Lin interrupted her with a sneer. “You two went through similar experiences? Like what?”
“We…”
Heartbreak? Xu Xi couldn’t say it. She couldn’t let He Lin know she liked him.
But He Lin thought Xu Xi was just making excuses and lying. His laugh was cold and sharp. “Go on, say it. Why aren’t you talking now? Can’t make anything up?”
The bedroom door slammed shut. The pheromone suppression system was activated, and He Lin shoved Xu Xi onto the bed, beginning to release his pheromones.
The scent of pine instantly filled the room. Xu Xi’s body weakened under the influence. He Lin was no longer gentle—he began tearing at Xu Xi’s clothes with a roughness Xu Xi had never seen from him.
Xu Xi was scared. In the past, she would’ve cried and poured out her feelings, but after what she saw earlier—He Lin laughing and chatting with another Omega—her heart was filled with bitterness and resentment.
So, when He Lin grew violent, Xu Xi refused to give in. She resisted with all his might, which only infuriated He Lin further, making him look like a beast ready to devour her.
But how could Xu Xi possibly fight off He Lin?
He Lin tied Xu Xi’s wrists with a necktie and bit down hard on her sensitive gland. Over and over, rich pheromones invaded her body. Xu Xi broke down in tears, but He Lin ignored them, leaving harsh, punishing marks all over her body.
All night long, Xu Xi was pushed beyond her limits. She’d fall asleep from exhaustion only to be woken up again, over and over, until she finally passed out.
…
When she woke again, Xu Xi’s mind was dazed. The scent of disinfectant stung her nose. She forced her eyes open and saw a doctor taking her temperature.
She had a fever—her whole body ached, her strength was gone, and a certain part of her throbbed with an unspeakable soreness.
Her lips were painfully dry. When she opened her mouth to speak, her voice was hoarse beyond recognition. The doctor poured her a glass of water and gently helped her drink it. Afterward, Xu Xi drifted back into sleep.
Before she lost consciousness, one thought echoed in her mind:
He Lin wasn’t in the room.
He’d been so angry—but what exactly was he angry about? That Xu Xi had talked to another Alpha? But hadn’t he just been sitting with another Omega himself, laughing and smiling?
Oh… it must be that a debt-repaying Omega dared to challenge the dignity of her creditor, right?
It wasn’t about love. It was about possession. It was about an Alpha’s instinct to dominate. And Xu Xi… she was just a disobedient Omega who had made her Alpha angry.
Next time He Lin saw her, he probably wouldn’t be gentle anymore.
Xu Xi was too weak to keep thinking. She sank into unconsciousness again.
…
In the living room, He Lin sat on the sofa while the family doctor reported Xu Xi’s condition.
“Mr. He, Xu Xi is running a fever. I gave her an injection, and she should be better by tonight. With a few days of rest, she’ll be fine. However, I must advise… restraint in your intimacy for the time being.”
“…I understand. You can go.”
He Lin pinched the bridge of his nose and stared at the medicine the doctor had prepared.
When he woke up this morning and saw the mess he’d left Xu Xi in, regret hit him hard.
He’d worked so hard to make Xu Xi feel safe—to coax her into being bold and honest. But now… Xu Xi would probably fear her again.
He didn’t even know what had gotten into him. The moment he saw Xu Xi with another Alpha at the bar, his fury erupted like wildfire, burning away all his self-control. All he wanted was to punish them both.
Xu Xi had been reckless too. What if that Alpha had been someone dangerous?
Besides, Xu Xi already had an Alpha—him. How could she meet another Alpha alone like that?
Once Xu Xi recovered, He Lin knew he had to sit her down and talk this out—properly.
