ABO My Alpha is a Housewife - Chapter 10
As expected, playing basketball with Shen Jin’an was a disaster. Even after the game ended, he still managed to pull off one last move, though Shen Jin’an blocked it this time.
Li Ziyu stared in disbelief, giving Shen Jin’an a thumbs-up. No wonder he’s Brother Shen! Besides, their interaction was straight out of a drama—so captivating you couldn’t look away!
He had fantasized countless times about the beautiful sight of Mo Chi and Shen Jin’an embracing. But seeing it in person today, reality far surpassed any imagination!
An Xin suddenly stood up. Brother Jin’an, are you okay?
She rushed forward, pulling Shen Jin’an and Mo Chi apart, and tenderly patted the spot where Shen Jin’an had been hit.
Shen Jin’an, annoyed at being pulled away from his embrace, shook off An Xin’s hand. What could possibly be wrong? How much could a basketball hurt?
He had been hoping to use the opportunity to hold Mo Chi a little longer!
Mo Chi gave Shen Jin’an and An Xin a deep look, said nothing, and turned to leave.
Shen Jin’an hurried after him. Wait! You promised me something.
Just tell me what you want me to do when you’ve decided. I always keep my word.
Shen Jin’an continued to follow. Let me take you home.
Get lost!
Alright! Shen Jin’an promptly rolled away.
He understood Mo Chi well. If he didn’t leave now, Mo Chi would grow annoyed and likely retract his promise.
Even the person being told to get lost didn’t object, but An Xin, who had caught up, protested. Brother Jin’an, we’ve known each other since childhood! How can Mo Chi be so unreasonable?
What’s this got to do with you? Shen Jin’an retorted before walking away.
An Xin stomped her foot, glaring at Mo Chi’s retreating figure. She gritted her teeth in resentment. So what if he saved Brother Jin’an once when they were kids? If only I had been the one to save him back then!
Mo Chi was genuinely angry, but even more so at himself for having become so weak.
As he returned home, the aroma of cooking wafted from the kitchen. Had Shen Jin’an come over again?
Sure enough, Shen Jin’an’s head popped out from the kitchen the next moment, his smile as radiant as spring blossoms, unconsciously easing Mo Chi’s anger. Mo Chi, you’re back? I made your favorite dishes today.
Hmm, I’ll let go of my anger for the sake of the delicious food. Besides, I was the one who provoked him in the first place.
With that thought, Mo Chi sat down at the dining table.
He didn’t notice the smugness that crept into Shen Jin’an’s smile as he turned back to the kitchen. After all these years, Shen Jin’an remained supremely confident in the status of his cooking skills in Mo Chi’s heart.
Mo Chi remained lost in thought, still daydreaming even as Shen Jin’an brought out the dishes. Noticing Mo Chi’s hands, which hadn’t been properly washed after basketball, Shen Jin’an sighed. What’s this? You didn’t even wash your hands properly.
He pulled Mo Chi to the sink, who followed obediently, still dazed, letting Shen Jin’an turn on the faucet and scrub his hands like he was caring for a child.
When Mo Chi finally snapped out of his reverie and saw Shen Jin’an holding his hands to wash them, he pulled away. Do you take even better care of An Xin?
Huh? Shen Jin’an was surprised by Mo Chi’s sudden mention of An Xin. I only take care of you like this!
He meant it. Aside from Mo Chi, he wouldn’t treat anyone else like a child.
Mo Chi This渣男 Alpha must have said the same thing to An Xin!
An Xin had truly liked Shen Jin’an. He remembered how, back when he played basketball, he’d wanted her to cheer for him, but she always said the An Family had a reputation to uphold, and she was too embarrassed to make a scene…
Don’t think about her. Even as an Alpha, now that he knew An Xin had been stringing him along, he would never associate with her again. He shouldn’t be thinking about her now, either.
I only let you in today because of the food. If you barge into my house again without permission, I’ll throw you out.
Okay. Shen Jin’an didn’t care. Mo Chi was just saying that. He loved Shen Jin’an’s cooking. As long as he kept bringing food, Mo Chi would always overlook his unauthorized visits.
Have you thought of any conditions yet?
No, but I’ll tell you the moment I do. If he suggested anything now, Mo Chi would definitely reject it and make him think of something else.
After cleaning up the kitchen, Shen Jin’an returned home.
With no afternoon classes, Mo Chi stayed home and welcomed his second guest of the day An Xin.
An Xin stood at the doorway, waiting for Mo Chi to invite her in. But when Mo Chi opened the door, he merely asked why she had come, without mentioning anything about letting her in.
Mo Chi, can I come in and talk to you properly?
Mo Chi stared at her, trying to discern her true intentions. An Xin simply looked back with an expression that said, I just want to come in, sit down, and chat. Mo Chi reluctantly stepped aside.
An Xin entered with a satisfied smile. Mo Chi, it feels like we haven’t had a proper conversation in ages.
It had indeed been a long time. Ever since Mo Chi’s secondary differentiation confirmed he would remain an Omega for life, An Xin had dragged him aside to declare her intention to confess to Shen Jin’an. After that, they had barely exchanged a few words.
Mo Chi, I know you used to like me, and I even waited for you. But you became an Omega, and your secondary differentiation passed without a sign. We can’t be together—Omega-Omega relationships never work out.
I know.
Were you serious this morning when you asked Shen Jin’an to agree to be with me?
You two really aren’t together? He had thought Shen Jin’an was lying when he said he wasn’t with An Xin.
An Xin looked away. Well, it’s not exactly that we’re not together. It’s just… he has his reservations. You saved him when he was a child, and he thinks you’d be hurt if we were together. So he’s been torn about it.
So that’s what’s been bothering him.
I want you to help me. Since we have no chance anyway, why don’t you talk to Shen Jin’an? Tell him you don’t mind if he’s with me, so he doesn’t have to worry about you. Would you do that?
An Xin believed Shen Jin’an’s hesitation was entirely due to Mo Chi. If Mo Chi gave his blessing, Shen Jin’an would surely be with her.
For some reason, hearing An Xin say this made Mo Chi feel deeply uneasy. Could it be that he still harbored feelings for her?
No, I’m not that pathetic. It must simply be frustration that he couldn’t be an Alpha and be with An Xin himself.
Seeing him lost in thought, An Xin stepped closer and looped her arm through his, shaking it gently. Please? Mo Chi, just help me out.
Mo Chi pulled his arm away. This was far too inappropriate!
An Xin’s heart sank at his reaction. Her eyes glistened with tears, as if she had suffered some great injustice.
She didn’t say a word, only gazed at Mo Chi with that particular look in her eyes. She knew exactly what kind of woman he would compromise for.
Mo Chi did indeed compromise, pressing his lips into a thin line. This is the last time I’ll help you. He had already told Shen Jin’an that morning to be with An Xin, so now he was merely repeating it at her request.
Wonderful! An Xin threw her arms around Mo Chi in delight. I knew you were the best to me! You’ll always be my best friend!
Mo Chi gently pushed her away. Though he was an Omega, hugging An Xin always felt like embracing someone of the opposite s3x, which made him uncomfortable.
Then I’ll go home and wait for your news, An Xin said, leaving as quickly as she had arrived.
Mo Chi began to consider whether he should visit the Shen Family.
But it had been a long time since he’d been there. If he went now, ostensibly to urge Shen Jin’an to be with An Xin, would Shen Jin’an suspect some ulterior motive?
Never mind, he thought. I’ll mention it when we meet tomorrow. Making a special trip just for this would seem too deliberate.
With that, Mo Chi returned to his room.
Unbeknownst to him, An Xin hadn’t actually left the Mo Family estate.
An Xin believed she understood Mo Chi well. Given his temperament, he would fulfill any promise as soon as possible.
Mo Chi had no other plans for the evening. Since he had promised her, he should be heading straight to the Shen Family to clear things up with Shen Jin’an.
That way, when she appeared before Shen Jin’an again, he would undoubtedly be thrilled and immediately want to be with her.
An Xin appeared delicate, but she was actually incredibly stubborn. Despite Shen Jin’an’s repeated rejections over the past few weeks, she remained convinced that once Mo Chi was out of the picture, Shen Jin’an would no longer refuse her.
Ten minutes passed, but Mo Chi didn’t emerge.
Twenty minutes passed, still no sign of him.
Half an hour went by, and he remained inside.
An hour later, he still hadn’t come out!
What on earth was he doing?
Or was the lingering affection in his eyes all a lie? Had he merely pretended to agree with her earlier?
An hour was more than enough to make An Xin suspicious.
The Mo Chi she knew would never have made her wait an hour for anything.
She wavered between getting out of the car to knock on the door and confront him, or simply driving away.
An hour and fifteen minutes later, just as she was about to make her decision, the gates of the Mo Family finally swung open.
Though annoyed by his tardiness, An Xin decided to let it slide, since he hadn’t been dismissive of her.
Still, why was he driving to the Shen Family? It was so close. Mo Chi always avoided driving whenever possible.
An Xin stepped on the gas and followed him.
Why had Mo Chi gone out? Because he couldn’t sleep and was bored at home.
They drove to his usual bar, where Mo Chi tossed his keys to the valet and strode inside with a flourish.
An Xin hated bars. They were too loud, and filled with disgusting Alphas who seemed to have eyes on the tops of their heads.
But why was Mo Chi here? Had he contacted Shen Jin’an? Was Shen Jin’an at the bar tonight?
In An Xin’s memory, Shen Jin’an never liked bars. Every time he’d been to one since turning eighteen, it was only to find Mo Chi.
Still, worried that Shen Jin’an might actually be inside, An Xin gritted her teeth, stopped at the entrance, tossed her keys to the valet, and went in.
The flashing lights inside nearly blinded her. Cursing Mo Chi under her breath, she thought he deserved to be an Omega no Alpha would ever want.
Li Ziyu’s eyes widened in disbelief. He wondered if the dazzling lights were playing tricks on him. How else could he have run into Mo Chi at a bar again, of all places?
And Mo Chi had that little tagalong, An Xin, trailing behind him. This was bad news!
Li Ziyu pulled out his phone. Brother Shen, hurry over! Your cabbage is about to be eaten by a pig!
