ABO My Alpha is a Housewife - Chapter 14
Shen Jin’an covered his mouth in disbelief, desperate to shake Mo Chi awake and demand if he knew who he had just kissed, to ask what he was thinking!
But he couldn’t. He feared the answer would be that Mo Chi was still half-asleep and had no idea who he had kissed.
Downstairs, An Xin had already left. Worried that Mo Yanfei might come upstairs to check on Mo Chi, Shen Jin’an hastily composed himself, tucked Mo Chi under the covers, and quietly closed the door as he left.
From below, Mo Yanfei watched Shen Jin’an’s careful movements. After a moment’s thought, he pulled out his phone.
If Mo Chi can’t see that someone like this is right beside him, then I’ll just have to make him see it myself.
Shen Jin’an’s eyes flickered, but he didn’t try to stop him. Instead, he quietly opened the door again, meeting Mo Yanfei’s gaze from below.
Mo Yanfei The moment I saw that look in his eyes, I understood everything!
He deleted the previous video, nodded slightly at Shen Jin’an, and pressed record again.
Putting away his phone, Mo Yanfei looked at Shen Jin’an with a sense of wonder. He still remembered the day Mo Chi brought a tiny Shen Jin’an home and introduced him as his new friend.
No wonder Mo Chi always treated Shen Jin’an with such coldness now. Shen Jin’an’s current appearance was almost exactly what Mo Chi had imagined himself looking like as an Alpha when he grew up.
Patting Shen Jin’an on the shoulder, Mo Yanfei said earnestly, You’ve got to keep going, Jin’an. Your uncle supports you.
Thank you, Uncle. Have you eaten yet?
Mo Yanfei paused. Although he had eaten dinner, it was nearly midnight, and he was starting to feel hungry again. Besides, Shen Jin’an’s cooking was exceptional, and it had been a while since he’d had a proper meal. How about we have a midnight snack?
Sure!
As they headed toward the kitchen, Mo Yanfei suddenly realized, Oh no, we probably don’t have any ingredients.
Mo Yanfei wasn’t much of a cook himself. He could manage an occasional meal, but cooking daily was out of the question—Mo Chi would never stand for it.
Shen Jin’an looked a little embarrassed. Uncle, there are ingredients in the house.
Mo Yanfei immediately understood. You’ve been cooking for Mo Chi again, haven’t you?
Shen Jin’an and Mo Yanfei got along so well that anyone who didn’t know them would have thought they were father and son.
Mo Chi was sleepy, but not for long. The aroma of midnight snacks permeated every corner of the house. Even with his bedroom door tightly closed, the irresistible scent managed to infiltrate his senses. Mo Chi sniffed the air. Who is it? Who’s sneaking food behind my back?!
He opened his eyes and realized he was in his own home. Shen Jin’an must have brought him back.
Mo Chi checked his phone. It was almost one in the morning. At this hour, the only person who could be in his kitchen was Shen Jin’an.
Slipping into his slippers, Mo Chi burst out of his room with a furious thump-thump-thump. Shen Jin’an, how can you be so shameless? It’s this late! Go make your midnight snacks at your own house!
Shen Jin’an, who was picking up food with chopsticks, flinched at Mo Chi’s shout, causing the food to fall onto his white pants.
Only then did Mo Chi notice that his father had returned sometime earlier and was sitting across from Shen Jin’an, happily enjoying the midnight snack.
…Father, when did you get back?
Mo Yanfei put down his chopsticks. Is this how you usually treat Jin’an?
Ahem! I just got distracted by the delicious smell!
If you want to eat, come down and join me. Don’t disturb my meal!
Mo Chi obediently came downstairs, his stomach growling.
Shen Jin’an observed Mo Chi, trying to gauge if he remembered the good deed he’d done last night.
Mo Chi looked puzzled. Is there something on my face? Why are you staring at me like that? He rubbed his face, realizing he hadn’t washed up after waking up. He was genuinely worried something might be there.
Shen Jin’an shook his head. It seemed Mo Chi had truly forgotten what he’d done.
It was hard to say whether he felt more disappointed or relieved.
If Mo Chi didn’t remember, he was relieved Mo Chi wouldn’t distance himself. But if Mo Chi did remember, he worried he’d act irresponsibly again, taking advantage and then leaving without a second thought, just like last time.
Mo Chi was actually feeling guilty, but he was determined not to let Shen Jin’an see it.
Dreaming about… clearing Shen Jin’an’s… whatever it was… I can’t let him find out!
It’s too embarrassing! I don’t even have those kinds of feelings for Shen Jin’an. This dream shouldn’t mean anything, right? When I was a kid, I even dreamed about kissing my own father!
Mo Chi reassured himself, his attention quickly drawn to the midnight snack.
Why aren’t you a chef? I’d hire you in a heartbeat! Shen Jin’an’s radiant smile nearly blinded Mo Chi. Success!
Just tell me what you want to eat anytime, and I’ll make it for you.
After the meal, Shen Jin’an diligently cleared the dishes, refusing to let Mo Yanfei or Mo Chi lift a finger.
On the sofa, Mo Yanfei and Mo Chi sat side by side, their minds far from the television screen.
Mo Chi asked Mo Yanfei, Father, don’t you think Shen Jin’an has serious husband material?
Mo Yanfei agreed, but felt that calling an Alpha husband material was akin to implying they weren’t formidable. He cautioned Mo Chi, Don’t let Jin’an hear you say that. He might give you a hard time.
Mo Chi But I think he’d actually like that description.
Full and drowsy, Mo Chi fell asleep on the sofa. When Shen Jin’an emerged, Mo Yanfei immediately stood up and headed to his room. Mo Chi is all yours now. I’m too old to carry this big kid anymore!
As Mo Yanfei spoke, a mischievous glint flashed in his eyes, hinting at his role as a matchmaker.
Mo Chi, still unaware of his father’s betrayal, seemed to be dreaming of someone urging him to keep eating. He smacked his lips and pushed away the person in front of him, I can’t eat anymore, I’m really full.
Shen Jin’an glanced at the hand resting on his chest, his smile as warm as the sun. Looks like my workouts are paying off, he thought.
Sure enough, the hand that had been pushing him away a moment ago now squeezed his chest. Master, Mo Chi murmured, I didn’t know you were so skilled and had such well-developed chest muscles!
One man slept soundly, oblivious to the liberties he was taking.
The other basked in the stolen touch, secretly pleased.
The two were in perfect harmony.
This time, after tucking Mo Chi back into bed and covering him with the blanket, Shen Jin’an left without hesitation.
He had made significant progress today. He needed time to process it all.
Contentment is happiness. Don’t try to get fat in one bite, Shen Jin’an repeatedly reminded himself. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to tear himself away from Mo Chi’s room.
The touch vanished, and Mo Chi smacked his lips in his sleep. Master, you’re so stingy! I’ll eat whatever you give me, but don’t take away such good stuff!
The entire night was filled with dreams.
Mo Chi woke up the next morning, confused. He had only slept, yet the world seemed to have changed.
Shen Jin’an was now avoiding him.
After I used my pheromones to exhaust myself last night, and I didn’t even hold him accountable, he’s actually avoiding me now?
Fine, Shen Jin’an!
