ABO My Alpha is a Housewife - Chapter 18
At that moment, Mo Chi suspected that Shen Jin’an might be taking advantage of his ignorance of physiology, secretly scheming against him without his knowledge.
Once this thought took root, Mo Chi’s mind couldn’t find a moment’s peace.
He wished he could instantly cram all physiological knowledge into his brain.
Watching Mo Chi storm off to the study with a constipated expression, Mo Yanfei understood everything.
Looks like Shen Jin’an is actually quite useful.
Previously, no matter how Mo Yanfei tried to explain the seriousness of an Omega’s ignorance of physiology, Mo Chi had always remained indifferent.
He stubbornly insisted that as long as he avoided contact with Alphas and refused to date them, he didn’t need to know.
Besides, he claimed to be well-versed in Alpha physiology and wouldn’t be taken advantage of by them, so Mo Yanfei had stopped pressuring him.
Now, to see him proactively studying Omega physiology was truly unbelievable.
Mo Yanfei pondered for a moment, worried that his son might become too clever in the future, causing Shen Jin’an—his favored son-in-law—to fail in his strategies. He quickly pulled out his phone, found Shen Jin’an’s profile, and sent him a message to inform him of the situation.
Shen Jin’an had been looking increasingly haggard lately. He wondered if his heat cycle was approaching, as he’d been plagued by the same recurring dream every night.
Sometimes, upon waking, he struggled to distinguish reality from the dream, convinced he had actually forced himself on Mo Chi in real life. He feared this would drive Mo Chi away forever.
When he finally snapped out of it and realized it was all a dream, he felt relieved he hadn’t done anything so foolish in reality.
Yet he still avoided seeing Mo Chi, terrified that one day he might lose control and act out the dream’s events.
Unsure if his heat cycle was truly imminent or if he was simply developing feelings for Mo Chi, he began carrying suppressants to school every day.
He had received an invitation to the banquet and had considered asking Mo Chi to be his dance partner, but he knew such a scenario was now unrealistic.
When he saw the message from Mo Yanfei, his face twitched involuntarily.
What’s wrong? Shen Jiaye asked, noticing his son’s reaction while busy with his own tasks nearby.
I’m finished, Shen Jin’an replied.
Oh, so what if you’re done for? Shen Jiaye was busy and asked Shen Jin’an what was wrong out of habit, but he didn’t actually care about his son’s problems.
Shen Jin’an had always been reliable, even as a child. Now that he was grown, he was even more dependable. His father figured he might as well just be a decorative fixture.
It took a while for Shen Jiaye to register what his son had said. Wait, what’s ‘done for’?
Apart from a gloomy period in his childhood, Shen Jin’an had always been cheerful and lively. When had he ever heard such words from his son’s mouth?
Shen Jin’an looked at his father with a mournful expression. Dad, with Mo Chi’s personality, if he finds out I lied to him, will he stop talking to me?
No.
Shen Jin’an’s eyes lit up. Dad, you’re so insightful! I knew Mo Chi wouldn’t stop talking to me.
He’ll just beat you up.
…Could you not give me such whiplash? Shen Jin’an lowered his head, staring at the message on his phone for a long time, composing himself before looking up again. It’s fine. Just a beating. As long as he doesn’t stop talking to me. With renewed determination, he sent Mo Yanfei a message Thank you, Uncle, for telling me this.
Shen Jiaye That’s all you aspire to?
For the first time, Mo Chi realized how much trouble came with being an Omega.
Take heat, for example. During heat, an Omega’s pheromones could attract even Alphas and Beats. Unless the Alpha or Beat was of a higher rank, they wouldn’t be held responsible if an Omega wandered off during heat and was taken advantage of.
Worse still, if an Omega knowingly went out during heat and caused such an incident, especially if it was severe or involved multiple people, they could be arrested and charged with intentional provocation.
An Omega’s first heat after coming of age was the longest, lasting up to two months without an Alpha’s soothing presence. Even after being soothed, if the Alpha intentionally released excessive pheromones, the first heat could be prolonged further.
Under an Alpha’s stimulation, an Omega’s heat could recur or extend for one to two months. There had been numerous cases where Alphas deliberately prolonged an Omega’s heat for their own amusement, ultimately causing permanent harm to the Omega.
A new regulation had been enacted if an Omega, while conscious, did not consent to repeated or prolonged stimulation of their heat, and an Alpha acted unilaterally, the Omega could sue the Alpha for intentional inducement after the fact.
Furthermore, any Alpha who approached an Omega during their heat without explicit consent would be presumed to have acted with intent to induce, given the Omega’s diminished control over their desires during such periods.
Excellent, Mo Chi thought. Before he had even finished reviewing the physiological regulations, Shen Jin’an had already violated two of them.
During his heat, Shen Jin’an had come to his house to cook for him without permission—deliberate! He was absolutely doing it on purpose!
Mo Chi decided to let this slide, considering Shen Jin’an’s comforting presence had helped him end his heat early. Thank goodness I didn’t get carried away and feel obligated to take responsibility for him!
Then there was the incident in the car, when Shen Jin’an had nearly triggered a relapse of his heat. Although it seemed unintentional at the time, Mo Chi still held it against him.
Mo Chi had grasped some basic physiological knowledge, but he didn’t delve further into the vast subject. Other Omegas spent years repeatedly studying it to protect themselves around Alphas, something he couldn’t possibly master in such a short time through last-minute cramming.
Mo Chi desperately wanted to grab Shen Jin’an and give him a good beating, but Shen Jin’an had been avoiding him lately.
Thinking of the Ji Family’s banquet, Mo Chi smirked. He’d see how Shen Jin’an could hide from him there!
The Ji Jinzhao’s birthday banquet was fast approaching. As Ji Jinzhao’s younger brother, Ji Shuran was supposed to choose his formal attire with him, but his mother insisted he go shopping with Qin Ziyao instead.
When Qin Ziyao drove up to the Ji Family’s gate, Ji Shuran’s mother practically shoved him out the door.
Auntie, Shuran and I are leaving now, Qin Ziyao said politely, opening the passenger door for Ji Shuran.
As Ji Shuran settled into the passenger seat, he said sarcastically, Wow, this is amazing. I wonder how jealous my classmates would be if they knew I was riding in Professor Qin’s passenger seat.
Qin Ziyao, oblivious to the sarcasm, gave the most straightforward reply Why would they be jealous?
Ji Shuran’s breath caught in his throat, stuck halfway between his lungs and his mouth, causing him immense discomfort.
How did I end up with such a fiancé?!
