ABO My Alpha is a Housewife - Chapter 6
Last night, when Shen Jin’an left his house, he had said he would be available whenever she needed him. What else could that be but a self-recommendation?
Seeing him approach, An Xin felt a pang of guilt toward Mo Chi. She knew Mo Chi liked her, but she was an Omega, and he had also differentiated as an Omega. A relationship between two Omegas was impossible she didn’t want to be a lesbian.
She tightened her grip on Shen Jin’an’s arm and said to Mo Chi, Mo Chi, don’t look at Shen Jin’an like that. I’ve told you before, I like Shen Jin’an. I’ve always considered you just a friend.
Mo Chi This is fucking bullshit!
Who said I liked you? I’m not gay! A relationship between two Omegas is doomed to fail.
Fortunately, he was a good kid. His father had warned him against early romance, and he had never pursued it. Though everyone could see he liked An Xin, he had never confessed his feelings. Since he had never said he liked her, his kindness toward her could be explained as simply being a good friend.
A good person like him being kind to his friends was perfectly normal, right?
An Xin felt a lump form in her throat. When had Mo Chi’s affection become so cheap, so easily denied? He hadn’t been like this before.
Brother Jin’an and I have something to discuss. Can you go to class on your own? I won’t be joining you.
Mo Chi stared intently at Shen Jin’an, his gaze conveying a clear message Is this what you meant by we’re just friends? Liar! Jerk!
Noticing his glare, An Xin stepped protectively in front of Shen Jin’an, fearing Mo Chi’s unrequited feelings might lead him to vent his frustration on Shen Jin’an. Mo Chi had done exactly that before. In An Xin’s eyes, Mo Chi was emotionally fragile. Ever since differentiating into an Omega, he had grown increasingly resentful of Shen Jin’an, bullying him relentlessly over the years.
Why is he causing trouble now?!
Terrified of Mo Chi misunderstanding, Shen Jin’an pushed An Xin aside. Mo Chi, I—
Brother Jin’an, I need to talk to you! An Xin interrupted him, grabbing his arm and pulling him away.
Whatever Shen Jin’an wanted to say to Mo Chi, her intuition told her it couldn’t be good for her. Being seen entangled with an Omega would invite ridicule. That’s why she had already told Mo Chi they were together. What if he found out Shen Jin’an hadn’t actually agreed to be with her yet, and still kept coming around to see her every day?
Watching the two figures bickering as they walked away, Mo Chi scoffed, Tch!
Shen Jin’an knew Mo Chi was at school today, knew he was in the classroom, yet he still came to find An Xin. Was he deliberately showing off in front of Mo Chi? And getting under his skin, since the Alpha he liked had been marked by someone else?
It was highly likely, because Mo Chi was genuinely disgusted right now!
You bastard, Shen Jin’an! Just you wait!
Shen Jin’an had shaken off An Xin’s clinging arms several times on the way down, but she kept stubbornly wrapping her arms around him. Passersby, oblivious to his inner turmoil, simply assumed they were a young couple bickering. Some even thought their antics were sweet—utter madness!
Just yesterday, he had offered to be Mo Chi’s temporary marker during his next heat, and now he was already being misunderstood again.
An Xin, if you keep this up, don’t blame me for punching you! Shen Jin’an had wanted to do this for ages. He used to disapprove of Mo Chi’s habit of solving every problem with his fists, but since learning Muay Thai and regularly following Mo Chi around to ambush people, he had come to appreciate this simple, direct method.
But Mo Chi still had feelings for An Xin, so Shen Jin’an couldn’t lay a hand on her.
An Xin’s gaze circled Shen Jin’an’s face twice before she withdrew her hand. She suspected he might be telling the truth.
Still, she was furious. Brother Jin’an, do you even realize what you’re saying? I’m an Omega! An Alpha who hits an Omega would only be ridiculed.
It doesn’t matter. I haven’t seen any Alphas who beat up Mo Chi being mocked at school, Shen Jin’an replied, his expression unchanging.
That was a mutual fight, not Mo Chi just taking a beating, An Xin retorted.
That’s because Mo Chi is strong. But his strength doesn’t justify them bullying an Omega, Shen Jin’an said, giving An Xin a deep look. An Xin, I thought I’d made myself clear. I don’t like you.
With that, Shen Jin’an left An Xin standing alone.
But… you used to always watch me silently, An Xin muttered to herself.
Back then, he had thought Mo Chi might undergo a secondary differentiation into an Alpha, since no other Omega was as strong as Mo Chi.
That’s why she had always been so enthusiastic about Mo Chi’s advances.
Shen Jin’an had always stayed close to them. Sometimes, she would catch him standing nearby, staring at her blankly, lost in thought.
She had always prided herself on her beauty, believing it was the reason two such exceptional men were drawn to her.
Although Mo Chi hadn’t undergone a secondary differentiation, she wasn’t disheartened. She still had Shen Jin’an, a top-tier Alpha. Being with him was just as fulfilling.
But after confessing her feelings, Shen Jin’an claimed he had never loved her.
She refused to believe it, convinced he was only saying that because of Mo Chi, their mutual friend.
She persisted in pursuing Shen Jin’an, but he continued to deliver hurtful words. Today, he even threatened to hit her.
Shen Jin’an had always been so composed. Could it be that Mo Chi, unable to win his affection, had turned to resentment and forced Shen Jin’an to say these things?
After all, Shen Jin’an genuinely valued Mo Chi as a friend, and the tone of his words just now sounded exactly like something Mo Chi would say.
An Xin’s mind raced in circles, ultimately placing all the blame for Shen Jin’an’s behavior squarely on Mo Chi.
If she could restore her friendship with Mo Chi to its former closeness, would Shen Jin’an stop treating her this way?
Mo Chi being an Omega was an unchangeable fact. No matter how unwilling she was, Mo Chi had to accept that they could only ever be friends.
This time, the person beside him had been switched again. Mo Chi guessed it was An Xin and didn’t even bother to get up, instead lying face down on the desk, waiting for Duke Zhou to come claim him.
Shen Jin’an had no classes that morning. He had only come to accompany Mo Chi to class. Seeing Mo Chi sprawled out on the desk, he knew without asking that the other man had stayed up late playing games the night before.
Neither of them spoke. Mo Chi had no desire to talk to her, and he slept soundly until the end of class.
When Shen Jin’an saw that Mo Chi was still asleep and An Xin was still glaring at them, he gently patted Mo Chi’s shoulder. Mo Chi, class is over. Let’s go home for lunch.
Mo Chi lifted his head and looked around. Why is it you? He had assumed An Xin was sitting next to him the whole time.
Who else would it be? Shen Jin’an helped Mo Chi gather his books.
Obviously, the glaring person standing over there!
If he hadn’t already seen through An Xin’s true nature, waking up to find them together would have ruined his entire day.
This is just bullying! She’s deliberately provoking me!
Mo Chi stood up, snatched his books from Shen Jin’an’s arms, and strode away.
Shen Jin’an hurried after him. Wait for me!
An Xin stomped her foot, displeased that Shen Jin’an had ignored her and chased after Mo Chi. But she knew that her only chance of winning Shen Jin’an over now was to rekindle her friendship with Mo Chi.
Wait for me! she called out.
Mo Chi hadn’t driven today. He disliked driving and rarely did it.
Knowing this, Shen Jin’an grabbed Mo Chi’s arm and dragged him toward the parking lot, Mo Chi unable to shake him off.
After finding his car, Shen Jin’an shoved Mo Chi into the passenger seat and floored the accelerator. But An Xin suddenly appeared in front of the car, startling him into slamming on the brakes.
Mo Chi, already in a foul mood, hit his forehead against the windshield, instantly raising a red bump.
Brother Jin’an, I didn’t drive here today either! Why didn’t you wait for me?
Seeing him stop, An Xin smirked triumphantly and reached for the car door.
Mo Chi glared at Shen Jin’an. What? Afraid I’ll expose you? Ignoring your own Omega? Scumbag!
Shen Qingyu maintained his smile. I told you, she means nothing to me!
Just as An Xin’s hand was about to touch the door handle, Shen Jin’an floored the accelerator again, sending the car speeding away.
An Xin, left standing in the parking lot, stomped her foot in frustration.
Mo Chi had harbored feelings for An Xin for years. Seeing the fleeting disappointment on her face after being abandoned filled his heart with conflicting emotions. He couldn’t afford to soften her mind was too full of schemes.
Shen Jin’an keenly sensed Mo Chi’s worsening mood, though he couldn’t pinpoint the reason. When he tried to drop Mo Chi off at the Mo Family residence, he was turned away at the door.
Staring at the keypad door he could open at any time, Shen Jin’an ultimately decided to give Mo Chi space and returned home.
Back home, Mo Chi threw himself onto the bed. He couldn’t understand Shen Jin’an’s motives. Hadn’t Shen Jin’an always treated An Xin well, even flaunting their relationship in front of him? Why had he acted so coldly toward her today? Could it be that he’d discovered Mo Chi was more entertaining than An Xin?
Last time, An Xin had returned to school after only sixteen days of heat, claiming she’d recovered. Could she have gotten a temporary mark from someone else?
And then there was Shen Jin’an. After their temporary marking, Mo Chi had specifically researched whether such marks were always painful. He learned that because Shen Jin’an’s technique was so precise, the discomfort was negligible.
Yet the research also stated that if the Alpha marking temporarily was inexperienced, the Omega’s pain would typically be doubled due to their clumsiness.
Shen Jin’an was so skilled at this—had he temporarily marked someone else before?
Combining these two thoughts, Mo Chi became even more convinced that Shen Jin’an was a scumbag.
I never imagined that the frail boy I first met as a child would grow up to be a scumbag!
Mo Chi regretted it deeply. How could I have been so foolish as to let him temporarily mark me back then?
Shen Jin’an remained unaware that Mo Chi had already pieced together his own twisted logic.
Seeing An Xin waiting for him at the door, he sighed, An Xin, I’ve made myself clear. Stop clinging to me!
Shen Jin’an, you’re a top-tier Alpha, and I’m a top-tier Omega. We’ve known each other since childhood, and I’ve loved you for years. No one is more suited for you than I am.
That’s just what you think.
We could even have a family marriage alliance.
Our family doesn’t need to rely on marriage alliances to achieve anything.
But you like me!
Shen Jin’an enunciated each word with deliberate emphasis I… do… not… like… you!
You’re lying!
You’re just doing this because Mo Chi saved you as a child and you don’t want to hurt him, right?
Wrong.
You’re lying!
He was utterly speechless, unable to defend himself.
