Accidentally Marked My Ex’s Powerful Sister (GL, ABO) - Chapter 7
Last night, at some unknown time, the signal jamming in the room disappeared.
Yu Li’s wristwatch received a call, it was from her people.
At that moment, Yu Li was pinned against the wall by Ye Zhixun, who was biting into the gland on her neck.
They were locked together, unable to separate.
Neither wanted to stop halfway.
“It’s fine. Wait for my call.”
Afraid her people might break down the door, Yu Li controlled her voice to reply before hanging up.
Little did she know, she would be tormented for several more hours, left utterly exhausted before collapsing into sleep.
The people searching for Yu Li outside hadn’t barged in yet, but their patience was likely wearing thin.
Yu Li quickly dialed again.
“Yes, you can come now.”
“Secure the surroundings. Don’t let anyone else see.”
After a few brief words into her watch, she ended the call.
Though she had reconnected with her people, her body ached, she was exhausted and starving, and her mood was far from pleasant.
Ye Zhixun had never spent this much time face-to-face with Yu Li before. Watching her lower her gaze, then lift it again with overwhelming authority, she felt like Yu Li might just kill her at any moment.
Rather than waiting to be struck down, it was better to take the initiative better to face judgment sooner than later.
“Sister, I didn’t bring my phone, so I couldn’t call the police. If you can’t wait, could you lend me your smartwatch? I want to turn myself in.” Ye Zhixun murmured softly, demonstrating her willingness to take responsibility.
Would confessing earn her a lighter sentence?
She desperately wanted to know the outcome.
Yu Li looked up at her.
The girl before her seemed nervous, fear written plainly on her face. Her dark, bright eyes were innocent and earnest. Was this kid really not making excuses and prepared to shoulder all the blame?
Did she not realize this was her own room, and Yu Li was the intruder?
“I don’t want this matter to become public, nor do I want anyone to know. We’ll settle it privately,” Yu Li stated after a pause.
“…” Ye Zhixun’s legs nearly gave out beneath her.
Yu Li wanted to handle this privately without legal proceedings!
The worst outcome awaiting her wasn’t a long prison sentence, but being dismembered and dumped into the sea?!
Even though Hong Kong had its share of chaos, there were still laws!
Before Ye Zhixun could say anything else, the door let out a soft ding, and a young woman entered.
She swiftly closed the door behind her, ensuring no one else followed.
The woman had short hair, sharp eyebrows, and wore leather boots with a sleek jumpsuit, an undeniably striking figure.
Her face was full of worry and anger as she first took in Yu Li’s pale complexion and the clearly marked bite on her neck, then turned her gaze to Ye Zhixun.
“You’re dead!” the woman spat, grabbing Ye Zhixun by the collar. Her bloodshot eyes and dark circles betrayed how long she had gone without sleep.
“Qin Nanzhen, let go!” Yu Li’s voice, though weak, stopped the fist that was about to strike Ye Zhixun’s face.
“What’s the situation outside? What arrangements have you made?” Yu Li continued.
“…” The woman called Qin Nanzhen reluctantly released Ye Zhixun and turned to answer Yu Li.
Ye Zhixun almost wished she had been punched at least it might have eased Yu Li’s anger.
She still had no idea what Yu Li was really thinking.
“How are you holding up? Do you need to go to the hospital?” Qin Nanzhen crouched beside Yu Li, her voice softening with concern.
“I’m fine. You go first,” Yu Li said softly.
“I’ve arranged everything. The hotel is under control, and we know who’s behind this. The manager kept his mouth shut about who ordered it, but I’d bet my life Yu Qi and his people are involved. Someone leaked the news, paparazzi are camped outside. I’ve got people ready…” Qin Nanzhen briefed Yu Li before shooting Ye Zhixun a glare sharp enough to kill.
Yu Li nodded at Qin Nanzhen’s words.
Qin Nanzhen, the daughter of Qin Shuangxue, had grown up with Yu Li and was her right-hand woman in the Yu Corporation.
Her arrangements aligned perfectly with Yu Li’s own plans.
“Let’s get out of here first,” Yu Li said, eager to leave the place as soon as she grasped the situation.
“…” Qin Nanzhen knew Yu Li must be uncomfortable and didn’t press further.
She helped Yu Li up.
Yu Li tried to take a few steps, but her legs were weak and sore. Each movement was agonizing, her brows furrowed in pain.
Qin Nanzhen shot another murderous look at Ye Zhixun before bending down to scoop Yu Li into her arms.
Ye Zhixun’s chest tightened.
After last night, Yu Li’s legs had been…
No wonder she could barely walk.
Great. Just great.
One step closer to being dumped in the ocean!
“Stop pushing yourself. Should’ve brought a wheelchair,” Qin Nanzhen muttered darkly as she carried Yu Li.
As she was carried out, Yu Li glanced back at the dazed Ye Zhixun.
“Follow,” she said quietly.
Ye Zhixun hurriedly grabbed her bag and trailed after them.
She could probably run now and escape, but…
Her guilt weighed too heavily. Even the slightest hope made her want to try.
At least Yu Li might go easier on her for cooperating.
The hallway was empty. They took the elevator down to the underground parking lot and boarded a black SUV.
Ye Zhixun shrank into a corner, trying to make herself invisible.
“Head to the hospital first for a checkup. Take her along too, make sure she didn’t pass anything on,” Qin Nanzhen said once they were in the car.
“It can wait. Go to Repulse Bay first. Set up a meeting with Wen Shanna,” Yu Li murmured, sinking into the plush aviation seat, her slender frame nearly swallowed by it. Her voice was hoarse and weak, exhaustion written all over her as she half-closed her eyes.
“Are you out of your mind? Why see Wen Shanna now?!” Qin Nanzhen snapped.
“Can’t waste this opportunity to ride the wave,” Yu Li whispered, her eyes already shut.
“Fine. Squeeze every last drop, why don’t you?” Qin Nanzhen scoffed in exasperation before draping a thin blanket over Yu Li.
Yu Li seemed to have fallen asleep, her breathing so faint it was almost inaudible.
Ye Zhixun didn’t fully grasp their conversation.
But she knew they were heading to Repulse Bay, right by the sea.
Sure enough, as the SUV left the hotel, the surroundings grew quieter, the coastline clearer.
Qin Nanzhen stayed silent to let Yu Li rest, but her glare returned to Ye Zhixun, screaming, You’re dead.
Ye Zhixun feared Yu Li, but Qin Nanzhen’s hostility didn’t faze her. She kept her gaze down, unresponsive.
The more Qin Nanzhen looked at her, the angrier she got.
To Qin Nanzhen, Yu Li was family, a sister.
Such an outstanding and beautiful sister was suddenly framed and taken advantage of by this seemingly dull and foolish little alpha. The more Qin Nanzhen thought about it, the angrier she became.
Yet Yu Li was still protecting her.
“What should we do with this one? You’re not planning to keep her around forever, are you? Why not just toss her into the sea, out of sight, out of mind.” As they reached the coastal bridge, Qin Nanzhen said to Yu Li while glancing at Ye Zhixun.
Ye Zhixun knew Qin Nanzhen’s words were empty threats and paid them no mind, focusing instead on Yu Li’s reaction.
“Hmm…” Yu Li murmured in response. Ye Zhixun’s composure instantly shattered, she sat up straight, tensed, and fixed her gaze on Yu Li.
“Perfect, this spot will do just fine.” Qin Nanzhen finally seemed to brighten up a little.
Yu Li lifted her eyelids slightly and, as expected, saw the panicked and flustered Ye Zhixun.
Her nervousness caused her pheromones to spiral out of control, filling the air with a faint floral scent.
This kid is so timid, does she really misunderstand me that much?
Though Yu Li had her own impressions of Ye Zhixun, she hadn’t yet decided how to handle her.
Right now, Yu Li still had matters to attend to, and keeping Ye Zhixun around indefinitely wasn’t practical.
“Pull over after we cross the bridge,” Yu Li said after a moment of thought, her voice unhurried.
“…” Ye Zhixun swallowed a mouthful of unspoken words.
[Taking the law into your own hands is illegal, sis!]
[With such a good attitude toward admitting guilt, shouldn’t you consider probation?]
[Maybe I should make a run for it and seek protection from the police…]
Not a single one of these thoughts made it past her lips.
Soon, the car descended the bridge and pulled to a stop on the side.
Rain poured down, the area was deserted, and not a single surveillance camera was in sight, truly the perfect spot.
“Don’t breathe a word of what happened today to anyone. Keep your phone on you and stay reachable, I’ll contact you.”
Just as Ye Zhixun was fretting over their surroundings, a phone was shoved into her hands, accompanied by Yu Li’s voice.
“And if you misbehave, you know what’ll happen.” The moment Ye Zhixun began to relax, Yu Li’s words sent her stiffening right back up.
