Accidentally Provoked My Archenemy [ABO] - Chapter 11
Cheng Yunan still said nothing. He didn’t look at her either, face expressionless as he shifted slightly, attempting to walk around her from the other side.
But Sang Yu blocked him again.
He moved left—she followed. He tried right—she mirrored him. Every step he took, she matched, remaining squarely in his path, gaze locked on him.
Undeniably provocative.
After several such rounds, the usual calm on Cheng Yunan’s face finally cracked. His voice, tinged with suppressed anger, broke the silence:
“Move.”
In response, Sang Yu’s lips curved slowly into a smile.
“What exactly do you want?”
Seeing the simmering fury in his eyes, she found it almost amusing. But her expression remained innocent as she shrugged.
“What could I possibly want? I’m just saying hi to a future classmate, that’s all.”
“But it seems my classmate doesn’t like me very much—he won’t even return the greeting.”
“That really hurts, you know.”
Though she said the words “it hurts,” the amused lilt in her voice made her real meaning obvious to everyone present.
Gu Amo, for one, was already used to Sang Yu’s brand of mischief. Whenever she blocked someone’s path, it was almost always because she was bored and looking to stir up trouble.
That said, Sang Yu had first-rate combat strength. She rarely, if ever, made the first physical move—her sharp tongue usually did all the work. Most people who had crossed her ended up swallowing their anger and backing down.
As for Cheng Yunan? He was just a B-grade alpha—tough in attitude, but not in combat. In the past, when Sang Yu had him pinned, he’d never managed to fight back.
So, Gu Amo wasn’t worried in the slightest. Arms crossed, he leaned back and watched with idle amusement.
In the thick of the standoff, Cheng Yunan exhaled slowly, as though to regain control of himself, and tried to move forward again—only to be blocked once more.
He finally stopped and opened his mouth. “You…”
His voice caught.
He stood still, throat bobbing as he fought to steady himself. His voice trembled faintly, but after that single syllable, he said nothing more—like he was forcing something back.
And then Sang Yu stepped closer.
The distance between them shrank.
She leaned forward slightly, her eyes deep and unreadable, slowly bringing her face closer to his.
That familiar face gradually filled his field of vision. Cheng Yunan pressed his lips together tightly, his breath growing light. He didn’t even dare blink, watching as her lips drew nearer and nearer.
The soft scent of hyacinths drifted into his nose.
His body reacted instinctively—he closed his eyes, his hands slowly curling into fists.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three…
When he opened his eyes again, all he could see was her shoulder—and the lingering scent of her pheromones in the air.
His gaze lowered.
He couldn’t tell if what he felt was disappointment… or something else.
Sang Yu had no clue what was going through his mind. She had simply used the opportunity to glance over his shoulder.
Then, smiling, she mused aloud, “Well, who would’ve thought, Cheng-classmate? Looks like we’re neighbors.”
“Isn’t that… quite the coincidence?”
Cheng Yunan stayed silent.
When she got no response, Sang Yu clicked her tongue lightly and drew back, standing upright again. She cast him a sideways glance and said lazily:
“Just now—”
“What the hell is your problem?”
Before she could finish, Cheng Yunan’s dormmate stepped up in his defense. The alpha moved forward to stand beside him, his stance protective.
“Oh? Someone’s coming to your rescue now?”
Sang Yu didn’t spare the newcomer a glance. She chuckled and commented offhandedly to Cheng Yunan.
Then she flicked her gaze toward Gu Amo.
He instantly understood. With a swift move, he twisted the other alpha’s arms behind his back and restrained him. The poor guy didn’t even have time to react before being dragged away.
Now it was just the two of them, eye to eye.
“What was with closing your eyes just now? Afraid I was going to hit you?”
Cheng Yunan still didn’t respond, eyes lowered.
Sang Yu’s smile faded. She stared at him for a long moment, then something seemed to occur to her—her eyes lit up again, curiosity flickering within.
She leaned in once more, this time moving in close to his ear.
Her warm breath ghosted over the edge of his ear, sending a visible shiver down his spine. Before he could steady himself, her low, teasing voice slipped inside:
“Don’t tell me… after all this time, you still haven’t shaken off the effects of the mark?”
She gave a few low chuckles, her breath vibrating with each note. Cheng Yunan could practically feel the tremor in her chest.
His own heart began to pound uncontrollably.
When he turned his head, his eyes locked onto hers—those dazzling amber-gold irises.
And in that moment, time stood still.
