Accidentally Provoked My Archenemy [ABO] - Chapter 2
Hot.
So hot.
In the boundless darkness, Sang Yu felt like she was drowning in a sea of pain—waves of heat and agony so intense that her consciousness had completely slipped away. All she could do was instinctively search for something cool to ease the burning.
At some point, she suddenly touched something icy cold. Without hesitation, she clung to it—like a drowning person grabbing the last straw—and desperately tried to pull it deeper into her body to relieve the unbearable heat.
…
By the time she woke again, who knew how much time had passed.
With one hand clutching her pounding head and the other pushing herself upright, Sang Yu sat up groggily, completely disoriented.
Her hand landed on something soft.
It was her bed. In her bedroom.
Sang Yu looked down at the bedsheet beneath her palm, confused. Why was she still asleep?
Her memory was a complete blur. The only thing she could recall was that there had been a banquet tonight—and Kong Tan would be attending.
Unfortunately, not with her.
She tapped her head, convinced she must’ve drunk too much. That would explain why her mind felt so foggy.
Lifting her hand to open her smart AI assistant, she caught sight of something on her skin.
Scratch marks.
Not many, but they were deep and erratic. On her otherwise smooth skin, they looked particularly jarring.
She frowned. She had absolutely no memory of how they got there.
After all, Alphas didn’t fight with their nails.
Perplexed, she raised her arm higher to examine the red marks more closely—but her gaze suddenly caught something out of the corner of her eye.
Sang Yu froze.
Was someone… lying next to her?
Slowly, her gaze shifted downward.
It was a male Omega.
He was curled up beside her, wearing a loose white shirt, nestled in the black-and-gold bedding. They were very close—so close only his head was peeking out.
His eyes were closed, still unconscious. His fair skin looked delicate under the dim light, his features soft and refined. Damp strands of hair clung to his forehead, and his ears were tinged a faint pink.
Sang Yu’s brain went completely blank. Her eyes shifted downward, but the blanket obscured what she was trying to see.
Had she…?
To confirm her suspicion, she reached out and carefully pulled the blanket back, silently praying it wasn’t what she feared.
Unfortunately.
Beneath the covers, his pale neck was covered in bite marks—especially around the gland. Bruised, torn, no unbroken skin in sight.
Sang Yu: …
She really had marked him.
Just as she was about to pull her hand back, the Omega stirred and reached for her. Still unconscious, he murmured softly, resisting her attempt to move away, clutching at her as if seeking comfort.
His entire body leaned toward her, his dark, fluffy head nudging insistently into her hand.
Sang Yu stared coldly.
She didn’t exactly dislike the Omega’s closeness—especially not this one, already marked by her.
Because in truth, Alphas and Omegas weren’t so different. Just as Omegas tended to grow attached to the Alpha who marked them, Alphas also developed strong instincts of affection and possessiveness toward the Omegas they marked.
That is, before she fell for Kong Tan.
Holding her head, Sang Yu felt a headache coming on. She really had no idea how to handle this situation.
In today’s society, Omegas—whether male or female—were a protected and treasured class. Entire laws had been enacted by the Central Alliance to safeguard their rights.
Anyone who violated an Omega’s legal rights would be arrested without hesitation and, upon conviction, exiled to a remote star system.
Of course, that didn’t apply to those at the top of the power pyramid.
Influence and wealth could always buy silence.
So no, Sang Yu wasn’t panicking. What unsettled her was that she had never imagined herself doing something so reckless—marking a complete stranger.
She suspected someone had set her up.
But her mind was completely blank. She couldn’t recall anything that happened earlier—how this Omega ended up in her room, or why she’d been so impulsive as to mark him.
Who could it have been?
Frowning, Sang Yu turned to face the Omega curled up tightly beside her, face buried under the covers. She planned to get a good look at him, wake him up, and figure out who was behind all this.
He had delicate features, fair skin—a textbook Omega appearance.
But he was sleeping fitfully.
His forehead was damp with sweat, his eyes and cheeks flushed, and faint tear streaks still clung to his face.
When she lifted his chin, he didn’t resist. In fact, he nuzzled her hand, letting warm breath fall gently on her fingertips.
Like a pitiful, abandoned little puppy.
Sang Yu openly stared.
Something about this Omega’s face… looked oddly familiar.
