Admiral, Your Wife Is Gone ABO - Chapter 1
Beep. Vital signs stable. Heart rate 90, normal. Bl00d pressure…
As the cold, piercing sounds of the medical instruments filled the room, the delicate young man lying on the hospital bed furrowed his brow, his fingertips trembling slightly.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself staring at a sheet of glass. Beyond it lay only darkness, reflecting his own image back at him.
He was dressed in a pale green hospital gown, his neck and torso wrapped in pristine white bandages. An oxygen mask covered his nose, and various tubes snaked across his body, immersing him in a transparent fluid.
Before the young man could grasp his situation, a doctor in a white coat rushed through the door.
You’re finally awake! Are you feeling any discomfort? the doctor asked, pressing a red button outside the chamber. The treatment pod slowly lowered.
The fluid was rapidly drained, and the protective dome gradually opened.
Luo Le lay flat, glancing at the doctor.
They’re still using such outdated medical equipment here?
When he didn’t answer, the doctor hurried forward to check on him, but before he could speak, Luo Le’s voice cut through the silence.
Where am I? Who are you?
In response to your question, sir, this is Planet 423. I am a physician at this military academy. My name is Joseph Xing.
Luo Le paused. This was the first time anyone had addressed him as sir.
He remembered piloting his mecha to Fifth Planet when a solar storm struck, engulfing him in its violent currents.
Suddenly recalling something, Luo Le straightened up and looked out the window, finding it pitch-black.
How long have I been asleep?
Doctor Chen froze at his words.
Asleep? He’d practically danced with death at the gates of hell.
If this were any other patient, he would have given them a stern lecture.
What’s wrong with these Imperials? Don’t they care about their own bodies?
Still, he answered truthfully, A week.
A week…
Prepare a small starship for me.
Sir, our planet’s medical facilities aren’t as advanced as the Empire’s. While your vital signs have stabilized, you endured a solar storm. Your wounds haven’t fully healed, and moving you now could lead to complications. I strongly advise you to stay longer.
A cold, distant figure suddenly flashed through Luo Le’s mind.
That person would only remain on Fifth Planet for another week.
Impossible.
Doctor Chen hesitated, frantically searching for words to persuade Luo Le.
When no response came, Luo Le’s expression darkened.
If I recall correctly, Planet 423 signed an eternal servitude agreement with the Empire over a thousand years ago, didn’t it?
Doctor Chen lowered his gaze. I’ll file the request for you immediately.
The agreement stipulated that the people of Planet 423 must never disobey the Empire’s commands.
Two hours later, Luo Le walked toward the Starship.
Doctor Chen watched the young man’s straight back, his peripheral vision catching the bandages on Luo Le’s neck and hands.
A pang struck his heart, though he couldn’t explain why the boy would risk his life to leave.
After setting the course, Luo Le configured the Starship for maximum warp speed.
Still recovering from his illness, his body struggled to endure the strain.
Planet 423 was three hundred light-years from Planet 5, requiring at least two days of warp travel.
Having recently survived a solar flare, Luo Le remained vigilant.
Two days later, Luo Le arrived at Planet 5, his eyes shadowed with dark circles from lack of rest.
But he was stopped at the entrance to the military district.
This is a restricted military zone. Without proper authorization, we cannot allow you entry. Please understand.
Luo Le’s expression was conflicted. Not only had he lost his authorization documents, but his Smart Brain had also been damaged in the solar flare.
My authorization documents were lost in an accident. Please inform Admiral Huo. I’m not lying—I really am his legal spouse.
The guard frowned, glanced at him skeptically, and remained unmoved.
I’m sorry, but without authorization, you cannot enter.
Having endured two days of grueling travel, Luo Le’s temper was already frayed.
It’s even worse now.
Could you please inform…
Before he could finish, a familiar voice called out from behind, Madam?
Luo Le turned abruptly and saw Captain Lin standing there.
Beside Captain Lin stood a man in an Imperial military uniform, radiating an air of nobility.
Who else could it be but Huo Lanjing?
Luo Le happily trotted over to Huo Lanjing and wrapped his arm around his forearm.
Husband.
The guard stiffened at the term of endearment.
Worried about being reprimanded, he lowered his head, trying to make himself invisible.
