Admiral, Your Wife Is Gone ABO - Chapter 13
Luo Le turned back and grabbed the corner of Huo Lanjing’s robe. Don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about! Weren’t you just whispering with him? Huo Lanjing, for the past four years, you’ve been waging wars everywhere but never returning to the Empire.
I’m asking you—were the battles really that numerous? Or were you just avoiding me?
Huo Lanjing turned, his eyes narrowing slightly. What do you want to say?
Luo Le almost faltered under that piercing gaze.
But the memory of their whispered conversation reignited his anger.
What’s your relationship with Vice Chen? Is that why you haven’t come back for four years?
Huo Lanjing stared at the irrational man, a cold glint flashing in his deep eyes.
Believe what you want.
He tugged at the corner of his robe, trying to pull it free, but Luo Le held on tightly.
Luo Le gazed at him pleadingly, his eyes rimmed with red. Was Huo Lanjing admitting it?
The thought of all the sacrifices he had made for Huo Lanjing over the years, contrasted with the man’s indifferent reaction, made Luo Le’s heart clench.
For some reason, tears began to fall like pearls from a broken string, tracing paths down his cheeks.
Huo Lanjing paused, his body stiffening at the sight of Luo Le’s tears. He couldn’t stand seeing Luo Le cry it irritated him.
He wanted to say something comforting to stop the tears, but the words came out wrong.
Don’t cry, he said, his tone cold and dismissive.
Luo Le’s tears flowed even faster.
Sobbing, he retorted, Wh-what’s wrong? Don’t I even have the right to cry?
Huo Lanjing froze for a moment, then glanced at the still-open door and strode over to close it.
Thinking he was about to leave, Luo Le grabbed his arm tightly. Don’t go! I won’t ask anymore.
Huo Lanjing closed the door and turned to face him, his expression blank. Are you trying to tell the entire galaxy that I’m bullying you?
Well, aren’t you? Luo Le thought bitterly.
Relieved that Huo Lanjing wasn’t leaving, Luo Le released his grip.
Huo Lanjing glanced at him and said flatly, Don’t worry. Our marriage was arranged by our great-grandmothers. I won’t be the one to file for divorce.
Hearing this, Luo Le’s disappointment instantly turned to anger.
So, he’s admitting our marriage is just an arranged match?
He has no feelings for me whatsoever, but he won’t initiate a divorce to avoid gossip.
So, all these years, Huo Lanjing’s actions have been aimed at forcing me to initiate the divorce?
As this realization dawned on him, Luo Le’s resentment transformed into anger.
He stepped forward, grabbed Huo Lanjing’s collar, and yanked him down.
Huo Lanjing merely glanced at him with a detached expression. You…
Before he could finish his sentence, Luo Le, standing on tiptoe, pressed his lips against Huo Lanjing’s.
He could feel Luo Le’s arms tightening around his neck.
Luo Le’s lips were soft, and his kissing technique was clumsy, just a messy nibbling. His sharp canines occasionally nipped at Huo Lanjing’s lips.
As their bodies grew warmer, Luo Le closed his eyes, afraid to look at him.
Sensing something, Huo Lanjing’s pupils contracted slightly.
He tried to push Luo Le away, but the younger man’s grip was too tight.
A flicker passed through Huo Lanjing’s deep, dark eyes.
He clamped down on the back of Luo Le’s neck and bit down hard on his lips, a punishing bite.
Even when the metallic taste of bl00d filled his mouth, he didn’t stop.
Luo Le cried out in pain and hurriedly released his grip.
But Huo Lanjing didn’t let go. As if still unsatisfied, he shifted his hold and bit down again, just as fiercely.
Ah…
That hurts!
Luo Le shoved him away with all his might. This man is so petty! I just kissed him once, and he bites me twice in return!
At that moment, the door suddenly swung open from the outside.
Captain Lin froze at the sight inside the room, inwardly cursing himself for entering. He silently pulled the door shut, intending to leave.
Huo Lanjing noticed and released Luo Le, turning to face Captain Lin. His voice was low and commanding. What is it?
Captain Lin forced himself to report, Admiral, military report from Ninth Planet.
As he spoke, he glanced at Luo Le, who was straightening his clothes.
Madam General looks like she’s been crying. Are the Admiral and Madam General really getting this… intimate in broad daylight? Captain Lin suppressed his gossipy instincts.
Huo Lanjing, his lips slightly flushed, walked to his chair and sat down. Bring it here.
Captain Lin hurried inside and placed the report on the desk. Admiral, please review it first. I’ll take my leave now.
Huo Lanjing nodded slightly, then focused intently on the report in his hands.
As Captain Lin turned to leave, Luo Le called out to him.
Madam, do you have any instructions?
Luo Le glanced at the man in the chair before turning to Captain Lin. I heard Admiral Huo has prepared accommodations for me. Take me there.
Wait a moment.
The two men exchanged puzzled glances, unsure who Huo Lanjing was addressing.
You may leave, Huo Lan said, glancing at Captain Lin.
Captain Lin understood immediately. Understood.
As he turned to leave, he heard Luo Le’s slightly angry voice Why can’t I leave?
Huo Lanjing ignored him, focusing intently on the military report in his hands, his brow furrowed slightly.
Knowing how seriously this man took his work, Luo Le silently sat down on the sofa and retrieved a mirror from his storage ring.
Finding it awkward to sit like that, he moved to the floor, parted his lips, and examined the two glaringly visible wounds on the inner lining of his mouth—they were quite deep.
Muttering indistinctly, Luo Le cursed, Damn it, you beast! That was brutal, truly brutal.
Huo Lanjing heard him and understood, but paid no attention.
A sticky, nauseating sensation filled Luo Le’s mouth, prompting him to head to the restroom. He rinsed his mouth briefly and splashed water on his face.
Returning to the sofa, he sat for a long while without Huo Lanjing even glancing up.
Luo Le yawned. Having woken up so early today, he was starting to feel sleepy.
Rubbing the tear at the corner of his eye, he called out, Hey, do you have a lounge here? I’m tired.
Hey?
Huo Lanjing frowned and looked up. This was the first time Luo Le had ever called him that.
Luo Le was still angry, and the fact that Huo Lanjing had completely ignored him only fueled his resentment.
However, he didn’t dare meet Huo Lanjing’s gaze.
Huo Lanjing stared at him for a long moment before pointing to the room beside them.
Luo Le stood up and walked in the direction Huo Lanjing had indicated, entering the room.
The space wasn’t large, containing a bathroom, a sofa, a coffee table, and a bed in the far left corner.
Exhausted, Luo Le stripped off his coat and pants, leaving only his shirt, and crawled under the covers.
When he woke up, dusk had fallen, and orange sunlight streamed through the window.
Luo Le picked up his clothes, dressed, and washed his face.
As he stepped out of the room, he saw Huo Lanjing standing tall by the door, arms crossed.
Still half-asleep, Luo Le instinctively leaned forward and nuzzled Huo Lanjing’s arm.
Husband, he murmured, his voice still raspy from sleep.
Realizing what he had done, Luo Le froze.
Huo Lanjing watched him with an ambiguous smile.
Luo Le retreated, clearing his throat to hide his embarrassment.
Huo Lanjing acted as if nothing had happened and said, Let’s go back.
Luo Le chuckled awkwardly, refrained from asking further questions, and followed him out.
Inside the hovercar, the atmosphere was eerily silent.
Luo Le leaned back against the seat, closing his eyes and pretending to sleep.
Huo Lanjing glanced at the figure sitting a distance away, a strange feeling stirring within him.
Luo Le had been acting so strangely these past few days.
Let’s talk, he said.
