After a Disabled Alpha Marked a Yandere Female Lead - Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Zhu Qingluo looked at her phone screen, and her heart was stirring.
Since things weren’t working out with Jiang Yun, it would be better to switch to a different path to avoid missing the opportunity.
She wasn’t discouraged by this and began to make her plans.
Thinking about her current situation, she felt that if she only went out for a short trip, Jiang Yun shouldn’t stop her.
So, Zhu Qingluo discussed a meeting time with the real estate agent. The process was detailed and thorough, and everything seemed to be going smoothly.
The weather today was warm, even a little dry, and a few birds occasionally flew across the sky.
Most of the time, it made people feel sleepy.
Zhu Qingluo passed by the French windows and suddenly stopped her wheelchair, looking at the scenery in the distance.
A car appeared at the end of her vision. It drove along the winding path and a few minutes later, it arrived at the Jiang family villa, stopping in front of the flower garden.
Then, a man got out of the driver’s seat and walked over to talk to the butler.
A moment later, the man began to move the flower seedlings, and the servants nearby also came to help.
The butler directed everyone to plant them. The entire process was orderly, with a clear division of labor, and everyone was sweating under the sun.
Zhu Qingluo noticed that a certain area in the flower garden was withered.
It seemed that the same batch of seedlings was fragile, so they had to be replaced.
She felt a little bored and retracted her gaze.
Zhu Qingluo was thinking about looking at the location, so she decided to inform Jiang Yun.
However, she looked around and didn’t see the other woman anywhere.
Because of her mobility issues, and the Jiang family estate being so large, the “activity” of finding someone was a bit difficult for her. In the end, she was so tired she was out of breath.
She drank most of a glass of water and rested for a while.
However, when she gave up on this activity and passed by the balcony again, she suddenly had a strong intuition.
She had looked here once already.
Zhu Qingluo didn’t believe in superstitions, so she paused slightly and wheeled herself in that direction.
A moment later.
She stopped outside the door, feeling a light breeze on her face, and a strand of hair fluttered.
In the air, there was a faint fragrance of blooming flowers.
Zhu Qingluo knew where she was now and poked her head outside to look.
The afternoon sun was just right, and the greenery was lush.
Under the sunshade, Jiang Yun was sitting in a lounge chair, wrapped in a thin blanket. Only her back could be seen.
She didn’t react to Zhu Qingluo’s approach.
Zhu Qingluo’s eyes showed confusion. She racked her brain but couldn’t understand why the other woman would be here.
However, she didn’t pursue it and remembered her main purpose for coming here.
“Miss Jiang…”
The other woman did not speak.
Seeing this, Zhu Qingluo went forward on her own, stopped beside the other woman, and spoke again.
“I have to go out next week. I’ll be back in three days, so it shouldn’t hold up… any important matters.”
Zhu Qingluo had considered the other woman’s needs, so if necessary, she would adjust the specific time of her trip.
She waited for a while but felt something was strange.
She couldn’t help but turn her face and found that Jiang Yun’s eyes were tightly closed. She was actually asleep.
How unfortunate.
Zhu Qingluo looked at the other woman’s face, admiring her beauty for a moment.
She held the armrest, planning to talk to her next time. But just as she turned the wheelchair around, she suddenly caught a glimpse from the corner of her eye.
The thin blanket on the other woman had slipped, with half of it hanging loosely from her waist.
Zhu Qingluo hesitated. After a while, she moved closer, reached out, and pinched a corner of the blanket at Jiang Yun’s waist.
She moved carefully, her breathing light, and covered the other woman with the blanket.
It was then that, from such a close observation, she noticed that Jiang Yun’s condition was not right.
Fine beads of sweat appeared on her smooth forehead. The delicate, fair skin of her neck rose and fell slightly with her breathing, and the lines of her veins faintly surfaced.
Zhu Qingluo immediately had a bad feeling.
She remembered that the other woman had shown no signs of this in the past two days.
From the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of a cup on the small table.
The water was gone, with a small amount of sediment left at the bottom.
Zhu Qingluo picked up the cup, lowered her head to smell it, and found that it was mixed with sleeping pills.
“Miss Jiang…” She tried calling the other woman. After several attempts, the effect was minimal.
Jiang Yun’s brows were tightly knitted, and her expression was one of pain.
Zhu Qingluo watched for a while, feeling a pang of compassion. She picked up a handkerchief and wiped the sweat from her forehead.
Suddenly, she saw Jiang Yun’s lips part slightly.
“What did you say?”
Zhu Qingluo leaned in slightly. Since she didn’t hear clearly, she moved a little closer.
Finally, she leaned close to the other woman’s lips and listened carefully.
“What… are you doing?”
The woman’s voice was low and a little hoarse, revealing a hint of an unspeakable sensuality.
This didn’t sound like she was talking in her sleep.
Zhu Qingluo raised her head and was suddenly met with Jiang Yun’s eyes.
They were not cold, nor were they mocking.
The other woman’s long, narrow, phoenix-like eyes were bloodshot and filled with a fierce and ruthless aura, yet they also hid a hint of unfamiliar confusion and innocence.
It was as if a certain kind of wounded beast had suddenly had its den discovered by a “hunter.”
Zhu Qingluo was instantly stunned. After a moment, she explained, “I was a little worried about you… How are you feeling now?”
Perhaps the other woman noticed her gaze. She suddenly turned her face away and closed her eyes.
Jiang Yun held her forehead, her back teeth grinding together. She said in a low voice, “My head hurts.”
Zhu Qingluo glanced at the water cup and said with disapproval, “You don’t even look at how much you’ve taken…”
The next second, Jiang Yun opened her eyes. Her expression had already returned, and she looked at her with extreme coldness.
Her voice came to an abrupt halt.
“Who told you to come here?” Jiang Yun smoothed her slightly curled long hair, her posture relaxed, and a mocking smile appeared on her lips.
Faced with the sudden interrogation, Zhu Qingluo felt a little suffocated in her chest.
She couldn’t help but purse her lips and said, “Then I’ll leave.”
The other woman’s expression froze slightly.
However, Zhu Qingluo didn’t notice. She turned and walked toward the indoors.
Hmph. No good deed goes unpunished.
…
On the balcony at this moment, the plants swayed gently.
Jiang Yun’s expression was sullen. The cool breeze dried the cold sweat, and she felt a little sticky and uncomfortable.
The surface of the glass cup had a faint circle of ripples.
In the past few days, she had started to suffer from insomnia again.
She could only fall asleep by taking medication. Even so, she would have the same recurring nightmare.
Jiang Yun felt a familiar chill. Her hand gripped the thin blanket in front of her, and her fingertips were pale.
Suddenly, she touched a different texture.
A look of surprise appeared in Jiang Yun’s eyes. She couldn’t help but loosen her fingers and look down.
On the blanket was a white handkerchief.
In that instant, she remembered that in her dream just now, someone seemed to be wiping her forehead.
It was delicate and soft, with a hint of comfortable warmth.
Someone was also calling her name over and over again… making a ruckus.
It was as if they were worried she was going to die.
After a long time, Jiang Yun’s eyes narrowed slightly.
She slowly held the handkerchief in her palm. The silk was crumpled, as if she could still feel a trace of warmth.
In reality, she had not caught anything.
It was just an ordinary handkerchief.
Jiang Yun’s body gradually relaxed, and she lifted the thin blanket.
She walked out from under the sunshade, basking in the brilliant sunlight. However, she did not linger and left the scorching area.
