After a Disabled Alpha Marked a Yandere Female Lead - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
A hush fell over the study.
Jiang Yun likely hadn’t expected Zhu Qingluo to be so direct about asking for money, completely breaking from convention.
Jiang Yun’s expression tightened slightly. After a moment, she asked, “What do you need the money for?”
Zhu Qingluo had anticipated the question and took out a prepared draft. “I’ve had a change of heart. I want to start over.”
Jiang Yun stared at her, suddenly feeling a difference.
Zhu Qingluo’s eyes were bright, sincere, and transparent, exuding a strange attraction.
Unconsciously, she drew people in and made them believe every word she was saying.
Seeing that Jiang Yun was interested, Zhu Qingluo explained her plan: first, to establish a design studio, then gradually develop her specialties.
She had long considered this plan, and the biggest thing missing was funding.
Zhu Qingluo couldn’t help but think that since Jiang Yun had married her, giving her 20 million was only right.
However, as she spoke, she realized the other woman didn’t seem to be listening.
Jiang Yun was looking her over, as if observing something interesting.
Zhu Qingluo felt a little uncomfortable and paused. “Miss Jiang, what do you think of my proposal?”
Jiang Yun’s gaze held a hint of regret. “I have already signed an agreement with the Zhu family. Breaking it would harm my personal reputation.”
Personal reputation…
Zhu Qingluo thought she shouldn’t care about that and that the truth of her statement was questionable.
“I will find a way to resolve things with the Zhu family,” she said.
“To me, it’s all the same.”
“…”
Given Jiang Yun’s position, it made no difference whether the money went to the Zhu family or to her.
“How about you beg me?” Jiang Yun’s red lips curled into a slight smile.
“I beg you.”
Zhu Qingluo said the three words emotionlessly, her face expressionless.
“Hmm.” Jiang Yun pondered for a moment. “I’ll tell the butler to handle the procedures.”
“Thank you, Miss Jiang.”
At this moment, Zhu Qingluo’s gratitude was heartfelt.
“If there’s nothing else, I won’t bother you…” Her goal was achieved, and she was ready to leave before the other woman regretted her decision.
Jiang Yun rested her palm on the edge of the mahogany desk. A hazy mist clouded her brow, and her eyes fell on Zhu Qingluo. She suddenly felt her presence was a bit of an eyesore.
“Don’t be in such a hurry to leave,” she said softly.
Zhu Qingluo’s body stiffened slightly, and she looked at her with confusion.
When her eyes met the other woman’s, she noticed a familiar hint of mockery and a nonchalant smile.
“Come here.”
Zhu Qingluo silently moved forward. The other woman reached out her hand to her.
She instinctively wanted to avoid it but held back. Then, she felt the woman’s fingertips lightly touch her shoulder.
Jiang Yun’s fair fingers smoothed down her turned-up collar with great care. The sense of disharmony made the atmosphere even more strange.
Zhu Qingluo remained motionless, like a plush doll being manipulated.
“Did you marry into the Jiang family for this 20 million, too?” Jiang Yun said unhurriedly.
It’s a test, of course.
The stone hanging in Zhu Qingluo’s heart dropped, but she didn’t know how to answer.
However, Jiang Yun didn’t expect a response and continued to speak to herself.
“It doesn’t matter. Just think of this as your own home. You can get a lot more in the future. The condition is… don’t betray me.”
Is she trying to get me to buy into her vision?
Zhu Qingluo nodded slightly, feeling as though she had “eaten the pie.”
“You can go now,” Jiang Yun said, her eyes cast down. Her fingertips brushed against Zhu Qingluo’s hair, then she retracted her hand and returned to her original position.
Zhu Qingluo’s eyes showed confusion. She couldn’t believe it was that simple.
“…Okay,” she replied, pausing for a moment before turning her wheelchair.
When she passed by the hallway again to check the study door, she found that no one was inside.
The strange phenomenon that had appeared in the Jiang family seemed to have vanished, swallowed by the silent night.
Zhu Qingluo had a vague inkling that although Jiang Yun hadn’t explicitly said it, she decided to forget what had happened tonight.
Ten minutes later, she was back in her room.
…
In the study.
The books on the desk were unchanged, but there was a postcard next to them with a vibrant flower added to it.
The light was dim and hazy, and Jiang Yun stood there for a long time.
After a while, there was a knock on the door.
She raised her eyes and saw a person in black appear. Their footsteps were very light, a sign of a professional at secret operations.
“Miss, why…”
The plan was to catch the person in the act, which would be a perfect hold over the Zhu family.
The person in black was on standby but had received a command to stop the mission. Afterward, Zhu Qingluo had almost discovered their identity.
“I saw it.”
The person in black looked bewildered, not understanding.
There was no smile on Jiang Yun’s face. A hint of melancholy and weariness spread, overriding her natural charm.
“She never touched the safe. This flower is enough to prove it.”
Her new wife was very clever. She had made her position clear.
…
The next day, it was bright and clear.
Not long after Zhu Qingluo got up, the butler came to her to confirm the bank account procedures.
Since her engagement, she had essentially been disowned by the Zhu family. All her personal accounts were frozen, and she had to open a new one.
Looking at the balance in the account, Zhu Qingluo was in a great mood.
She was busy picking up her career again, meticulously planning her future. During this time, she kept receiving phone calls from Father Zhu, which were relentless and felt like a death sentence.
Zhu Qingluo was so annoyed that she finally blocked him.
Phew.
The world was finally peaceful.
Zhu Qingluo put down her phone and began to study a map.
First, the location of her studio. The Jiang family was in a bustling area of A City, where property prices were high. C City was a bit far, but the western and northern districts were good and cost-effective…
This way, she could spend the budget on other things.
However, considering that Jiang Yun needed her during her sensitive period and that she would have to travel back and forth several times a month, there could be emergencies.
After much thought, Zhu Qingluo circled several locations within A City.
The conditions were similar, so she decided to visit them in person when she had time. For now, the matter was put on hold.
Then there was the supplier for her jewelry materials. This was of utmost importance…
As Zhu Qingluo was thinking this, she was making notes on the map when she suddenly found that her paint bottle was empty.
The paint bottle was on a shelf above the cabinet. Out of habit, she reached for it.
She couldn’t reach it.
She suddenly remembered that this distance was too “far.”
So, she looked at the wheelchair under her, moved back a little, and then looked up to see the location of the paint bottle.
Following the label numbers, she rummaged through the cabinet and finally found the spare paint stored at the bottom.
Finally, Zhu Qingluo struggled to get back.
Many times, her legs were her biggest “obstacle.”
Because Zhu Qingluo had money and a goal, her days were exceptionally fulfilling. With the butler’s help, she even contacted a few real estate agents in A City.
This morning, the weather was clear and pleasant.
On the open balcony, the sun was shining, and several precious varieties of flowers were being cultivated, creating a vibrant scene.
Zhu Qingluo went in for a moment and then came out slowly, holding a pot of pink flowers.
She had seen them in the study last time and didn’t know what kind of flowers they were.
But, they were exceptionally beautiful.
As she passed through the living room, a beam of sunlight fell on the floor. Her shadow stretched as she moved forward, but she made almost no sound.
Jiang Yun was sitting on the sofa with her back to her, watching the news.
Normally, Zhu Qingluo would go over to make herself known.
But seeing that the other woman wasn’t paying attention to her, she thought for a moment and decided to quietly return to her room along her original path.
The next second, she unexpectedly heard Jiang Yun speak.
“What have you been busy with these past two days?”
Zhu Qingluo immediately “braked,” hugging the flower pot in her arms. She looked up but only saw the indifferent back of the other woman.
She maintained her calm on the surface and replied, “Decorating.”
In the past, she didn’t care, but now, to make her work more convenient, she had to change the layout of her room and adjust some of the structure.
The air was silent for a while.
Zhu Qingluo thought for a moment and then said solemnly, “I will work hard and not let you down.”
“…”
Jiang Yun turned her face slightly, a look of confusion on her face.
She had never had any “expectations” for Zhu Qingluo. It was just a whim to give her something to do to pass the time.
However, Zhu Qingluo seemed to have gotten carried away and began to casually respond to her.
For a full minute, their positions hadn’t changed, and the air was slightly stagnant.
“Alright, you can go,” Jiang Yun turned her head and suddenly gave the order to leave.
Zhu Qingluo retracted her gaze and found that the other woman was no longer paying attention to her.
So, she felt relieved and left the living room shortly after.
She stayed in her room all day until the sky gradually darkened. A brilliant sunset painted the sky outside the window, and an orange-red glow poured in.
There was a knock on the door, neither too hard nor too soft.
Zhu Qingluo looked up from a pile of blueprints. After listening, she felt that it wasn’t the butler.
She thought it was a servant and told them to come in.
“Sweep the floor over there. And this table here, be careful not to damage my blueprints.”
“…”
“You can put the dinner on the side. I’ll eat it later.”
“…”
After a long while, there was no response.
A silent, slender shadow behind her gradually leaned down, bringing with it a pressure that was difficult to ignore.
Zhu Qingluo’s head, which had been in a daze, instantly cleared up.
What did I just say?
She couldn’t help but turn her head and saw Jiang Yun standing behind her.
“Miss Jiang… why are you here? I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was you.”
Jiang Yun generously let it slide. Her gaze scanned the room.
The gray and white tones of the room hadn’t changed, but some of the high cabinets had been replaced with lower tables, which were now covered with books and paint.
It looked neat and orderly, and the potted plant not far away was brightly colored.
“Is this the result of your hard work?” Jiang Yun said, her gaze slightly paused.
“Yes.”
Zhu Qingluo nodded slightly, her eyes shining.
In the afterglow of the sunset, the hazy, soft light in the room made it feel like a small sanctuary where no one could disturb her.
“It’s ugly,” Jiang Yun said bluntly, her eyes full of distaste.
“…”
The two short words were a hard hit for Zhu Qingluo.
Her eyes were half-closed, and a question vaguely appeared. The other woman seemed to be questioning her aesthetic.
At this moment, Jiang Yun turned around, looked at her for a while, and said, “So, do you have any ideas now?”
The other woman didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with pointing out her room.
But when you’re under someone else’s roof, you have to bow your head.
“I do,” Zhu Qingluo said.
Perhaps she had been careful in advance. After the renovation was finished, she had a few spare blueprints.
“I have three plans and can’t decide.”
Jiang Yun’s expression was satisfied. She reached out and took the room layout blueprints.
She looked at them and said, “Try them all.”
Hearing this, Zhu Qingluo felt a little troubled.
Because just one casual sentence from the other woman would be a lot of trouble and a waste of money and time.
Jiang Yun sized up her expression and placed her hand on the back of the wheelchair.
Zhu Qingluo felt the pressure next to her. Then, the other woman suddenly leaned down, put her mouth to Zhu Qingluo’s ear, and said in a seductive tone, “Look, there’s a fourth option here. I wonder if you want it.”
Zhu Qingluo was puzzled and looked down.
The blueprint was blank. Where was the fourth plan?
