- Chapter 14 - "Sister, then I have offended you."
The room was dimly lit, with Jian Mo having only turned on the lamp by the desk, casting limited illumination.
Yet this didn’t hinder Ye Wenjin’s vision in the slightest—she could clearly see the expression on Jian Mo’s face.
Unlike her usual gentle and composed demeanor, Jian Mo now appeared visibly distressed. Yet her eyes carried an aggressive edge, her entire body bristling like a porcupine’s quills, rejecting any approach.
Though her guarded expression made her seem unapproachable, the pheromones permeating the air betrayed her true state.
Ye Wenjin could sense the other’s pheromones continuously surging toward her, and upon contact, those defensive quills transformed into soft, seeking tendrils.
An unmistakable invitation.
Ye Wenjin’s body gradually stiffened, caught between awkwardness and tension, her face showing signs of restrained emotion.
Their pheromone compatibility was alarmingly high—so high that deliberate seduction wasn’t necessary. Merely catching each other’s scent was enough to elicit physical reactions.
But at this moment, Ye Wenjin found herself grateful for this intense compatibility.
Perhaps it was precisely because of this that Jian Mo hadn’t shown strong rejection upon her entry. Despite the guarded expression, her pheromones welcomed Ye Wenjin’s presence with unmistakable delight.
There was just one problem—in her haste to enter, Ye Wenjin had forgotten to administer a suppressant injection first.
Now completely enveloped by Jian Mo’s pheromones, she couldn’t prevent the rising heat spreading through her body.
This made Ye Wenjin afraid to take even a single step forward, terrified her self-control might crumble instantly.
Yet staying put wasn’t an option either. As she wrestled with desire, she faintly heard Jian Mo’s shallow, controlled breathing—clear evidence of the other woman’s struggle.
Ye Wenjin sharply bit her tongue, the metallic taste bringing momentary clarity to her mind.
Testing the waters, she took one cautious step forward before pausing, anxiously observing Jian Mo’s reaction for any signs of distress.
Jian Mo’s eyes flickered slightly as she composed herself, then parted her lips slightly to speak in a husky voice: “Come here, Xiao Jin.”
Apart from the unusual roughness, her tone sounded relatively normal.
Seeing that the other seemed capable of maintaining rationality, Ye Wenjin felt encouraged and slowly advanced toward Jian Mo.
Though merely steps apart, the distance felt agonizingly long, each forward movement requiring tremendous effort.
Having been intimately close not long ago—when Ye Wenjin had given Jian Mo a temporary mark—though the mark had since faded, their pheromones still erupted with passionate recognition upon meeting.
Now both women wore expressions of tortured restraint, each second an exquisite torment.
The difference was: Ye Wenjin was struggling against desires awakened by Jian Mo’s pheromones.
Determined not to act recklessly, she clung to her self-control despite the beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
Step. Step—she finally reached Jian Mo’s side, drawing a controlled breath. “Jiejie, I… I came to bring suppressants.”
Jian Mo remained silent, staring intently at her.
Ye Wenjin couldn’t decipher that gaze, but it only amplified her nervousness.
In this moment, their usual dynamic seemed reversed.
After what felt like an eternity, Jian Mo finally spoke slowly: “Help me inject it.”
Ye Wenjin immediately realized that Jian Mo must be running out of strength, so she obediently took out a dose of suppressant and carefully disinfected the injection site on her arm.
But just as she was about to administer it, she hesitated, her hand holding the suppressant trembling slightly.
“What’s wrong?”
Ye Wenjin struggled to speak. “Sister, your… pheromones…”
She could hardly hold back anymore. From the moment she entered the room, Jian Mo’s pheromones had clung to her, every movement filled with temptation.
It was as if countless voices whispered in her ear, “Don’t hold back, come and mark me now.”
This feeling grew even stronger as she prepared to administer the suppressant to Jian Mo.
Ye Wenjin couldn’t help but glance repeatedly at the nape of Jian Mo’s neck. No matter how hard she tried to resist, the scent of winter plum kept slipping into her nostrils, crowding around the scent gland at the back of Jian Mo’s neck, trying to draw out more of her own pheromones.
Because of this, Ye Wenjin’s hand holding the suppressant was unsteady. She didn’t dare imagine what might happen if she tried to administer it in this state.
Ye Wenjin was a little scared.
Even after enduring the torment of chaotic pheromones for so long, her eyes reddening from the discomfort and her rationality gradually slipping away, Jian Mo still noticed Ye Wenjin’s hesitation.
So, when Ye Wenjin stood there at a loss, desperately trying to calm herself, Jian Mo reached out and touched her face, drawing her attention back.
“Xiao Jin, release your pheromones to soothe me.”
Ye Wenjin wanted to say she didn’t know how, but the current situation left no room for refusal.
Gritting her teeth, she actively released more pheromones, slowly moving toward Jian Mo, carefully enveloping her restless pheromones before tentatively settling on her scent gland.
For a brief moment, Ye Wenjin sensed a wave of rejection, but it quickly faded, replaced by acceptance. Encouraged, she cautiously continued the motion.
The agitated pheromones in the air finally began to calm slightly. Ye Wenjin let out a sharp exhale, seizing the opportunity to inject the suppressant into Jian Mo.
She heard Jian Mo’s muffled groan and panicked for a second but steadied herself. Only after the injection was complete did Ye Wenjin look up at Jian Mo.
The pained expression on her face was gradually easing as she regained her composure, though the pheromones in the air remained active, stubbornly refusing to recede.
Ye Wenjin was bewildered. “Sister?”
Jian Mo hummed in response and took hold of the hand that had just administered the suppressant.
“The pheromone imbalance has some aftereffects. Xiao Jin, give me a temporary mark.”
Ye Wenjin’s face flushed instantly, and she stammered, “A t-temporary mark? M-me?”
Jian Mo nodded. “Of course, you. Unless Xiao Jin doesn’t want to?”
As she spoke, her lashes lowered slightly, making her look inexplicably pitiful.
Ye Wenjin’s mind went blank with urgency. “I do! Of course I do, Sister. Please don’t be upset.”
At that, Jian Mo lifted her head and smiled faintly. “Mm, I knew Xiao Jin would agree.”
With that, she swept her long hair over her shoulder, revealing the pale nape of her neck.
Caught off guard by the sight of the scent gland, Ye Wenjin froze for a moment before suddenly remembering she had just agreed to give Jian Mo a temporary mark.
Looking at Jian Mo, who was already prepared, Ye Wenjin swallowed hard, feeling extremely nervous and frozen in place, at a loss.
However, seeing her hesitate for so long, Jian Mo gently urged her again.
“Xiao Jin?”
Ye Wenjin suddenly snapped back to reality and quickly replied, “I’m here! I…”
She closed her eyes for a moment, then abruptly opened them again, whispering, “Sister, then I’ll be presumptuous.”
Then she slowly leaned closer to that fair neck, found the gland exuding the fragrance of winter plum, and gently bit down.
Instantly, the scent of winter plum filled her nose and lips. Ye Wenjin, overwhelmed by the proximity, was dazed for a moment before suddenly remembering her purpose.
So, she quickly regained her focus and carefully infused her own pheromones into the fragile gland.
The sensation was so intoxicating that Ye Wenjin unconsciously lost herself in it—until she heard Jian Mo’s soft moan, a mix of pain and pleasure. Only then did she snap back to reality and hurriedly released her bite.
A ring of teeth marks now adorned the fair nape, and the gland had turned slightly red and swollen.
It was utterly, unbearably intimate.
