- Chapter 19 - "Xiao Jin, You Did Very Well."
Ye Wenjin desperately wanted to suppress the heat rising to her face, but it was impossible to control.
So, she gave up, patted her cheeks, and stood up to walk over to Jian Mo. Leaning in close, she whispered, “Sis, I didn’t think you’d come.”
The smile on Jian Mo’s face remained unchanged as she lowered her voice in response, “Did Xiao Jin not want me to come? Or do you have another guardian arriving?”
Ye Wenjin shook her head slightly, quickly explaining, “No, no! I was just worried I’d be interrupting your work. I’m… really happy you came.”
Jian Mo gently patted her head, her tone soft. “You did the right thing by telling me about this right away, Xiao Jin.”
Ye Wenjin felt her face grow even hotter—her sister’s praising tone sounded exactly like she was coaxing a child…
She patted her cheeks again, forcing herself to calm down.
After exchanging just a few words, they stopped talking. Ye Wenjin hadn’t forgotten the reason Jian Mo was here.
Once their conversation ended, the homeroom teacher invited Jian Mo inside.
Ye Wenjin followed closely behind her, naturally sitting down beside Jian Mo.
Noticing her actions, the corners of Jian Mo’s lips curved up slightly.
Only Rong Yunshu frowned as she watched their interaction.
She wasn’t mistaken—this was the same woman who had picked up Ye Wenjin yesterday.
Now, seeing how they interacted, the atmosphere between them was unmistakable. Her suspicions were suddenly confirmed, and Rong Yunshu fell silent.
Both guardians had arrived, but Yin Feifei, the main instigator, still hadn’t had anyone show up for her.
However, the homeroom teacher had just vented his anger earlier, so his mood was relatively stable now. After greeting the two guardians, he explained the situation to them in detail.
Rong Yunjuan was surprised. She knew her younger sister well—outwardly warm-hearted, but actually quite indifferent.
Fighting back for a classmate’s safety didn’t seem to align with her usual behavior at all.
But when she turned to look, she saw Rong Yunshu lost in thought, her expression distant.
Rong Yunjuan was about to look away when, in that split second, something clicked in her mind.
Rong Yunshu didn’t just seem absent-minded—her gaze was fixed on something.
Subtly following her line of sight, Rong Yunjuan realized she was staring at the other student’s sister.
As an older sister herself, Rong Yunjuan had to admit—this woman was the epitome of a perfect sister. Elegant, gentle, and endlessly patient with her younger sibling.
Even after being called in like this, she showed no anger or mockery.
Rong Yunjuan reflected on herself and inwardly clicked her tongue.
So Rong Yunshu liked this kind of sister? All her efforts had been wasted.
Absurd thoughts flashed through her mind, but soon Rong Yunjuan noticed that Rong Yunshu’s expression didn’t seem like admiration—more like… scrutiny?
After observing for a while and still failing to understand, Rong Yunjuan nudged her sister. “Yunshu, is what the teacher said true?”
Rong Yunshu barely registered the question, reflexively nodding. “Mhm—”
Rong Yunjuan looked at her as if seeing her for the first time, baffled, before turning back to the homeroom teacher.
“So, teacher, what do you suggest?”
She had always been straightforward in her speech, disliking roundabout talk, so she directly asked how this matter should be handled.
The dean thought for a moment, weighing her words carefully before saying, “The main fault in this incident doesn’t lie with them, and the situation hasn’t caused significant harm. Therefore, I believe the focus should be on criticism and education.
The reason we asked both students to call their parents was to remind them to properly educate their children about the dangers of releasing pheromones in public.”
“Although the impact this time wasn’t severe, the behavior itself is unacceptable. An Alpha’s pheromones can induce a high-matching Omega into heat, and even the slightest leakage in public is strictly forbidden. Parents must pay attention to this aspect of education.”
Rong Yunjuan humbly accepted the criticism. After all, if handled strictly, this incident could be classified as a brawl—or even a legal violation if escalated.
It was only because the main student involved was from another school, and the two were merely caught up in the situation, that the dean was being so lenient.
However, she didn’t expect the other student’s sister, who had been listening attentively, to suddenly speak up: “What the teacher said is reasonable. May I ask what punishment the student primarily at fault will receive?”
The dean frowned, clearly troubled by the question, but after some thought, she replied, “Since she isn’t a student at our school, the matter will be handed over to her own institution for disciplinary action.”
Jian Mo nodded.
Everyone assumed she had accepted this resolution—until the next moment, when they heard her say:
“In that case, let’s call the police.”
Her words silenced everyone in the room.
The dean was taken aback. Someone who appeared so gentle had such a firm stance.
Yet there was nothing unreasonable about the suggestion—after all, the student in question had indeed violated laws pertaining to Alphas.
Though the dean was angry, she had instinctively leaned toward a peaceful resolution, considering no actual harm had been done. Despite the student being from another school, the two universities were close, and there was some goodwill between them.
Punishment was inevitable, but she hadn’t considered involving the police. Who would have thought this parent would be so unyielding?
Even Ye Wenjin was stunned. She instinctively looked at Jian Mo, only to hear her say:
“Deliberately releasing pheromones in public is an egregious act. Letting it slide just because the perpetrator is a student would be unfair.”
Her expression was calm, her smile present but her eyes cold.
“Besides, this student is already an adult—she should be held accountable for her actions.”
The dean hesitated, visibly conflicted, feeling the situation didn’t warrant such severity.
But Rong Yunjuan’s eyes lit up.
Damn, she had thought this was just a gentle older sister. Turns out, the gentleness was real, the sisterly demeanor was real—but beneath it lay a blade, sharp and unrelenting.
Ye Wenjin stared at Jian Mo in a daze, warmth flooding her heart.
Sister… was this because of her?
