Chapter 21: The Little Lunatic is Frozen in Time
The little fox, trapped high above, struggled to endure the discomfort. He rubbed against people’s arms awkwardly, powerless to relieve the unease he felt.
The sting from the soft needle was so intense that he couldn’t hold back his cries, unable to be soothed by any comforting words.
As he himself admitted, if it weren’t for the soft needle and the lock nearby, he would never have accepted the temporary marking.
“I’m sorry… Xiaohua, I really promised you.”
Pei Yu’s heart was heavy with guilt, his eyes clouded with regret and self-reproach.
He gently lifted the little fox and tenderly pinched his fox ears.
“I had arranged my finances, thinking I had enough bargaining power to take you away. No matter the cost, I could afford it. I never expected that person to take the auction price at your coming-of-age ceremony so seriously.”
“Don’t be sorry…” Hua Che shook his head, his ears flapping energetically.
“You didn’t do anything wrong. You said you wanted me, you wanted to take me away.”
“You never promised anything, it was my misunderstanding…”
“No, no.”
“I’m so glad to hear that. Don’t blame yourself.”
Hua Che smiled, tears still glistening in his eyes.
“If you want to make it up to me, just grant me one wish.”
“Tell me.”
“I want to bite your glands. In the fox family, a light bite is a way to show affection and fondness.”
Hua Che parted his lips, his soft scarlet tongue flicking over his sharp canine teeth.
“But I’m a fox, and my teeth are sharp—they might hurt you.”
“Is that okay?”
He was a fox with mischievous intent and a careful mind, not an innocent little white rabbit.
Pei Yu felt warmth soften his heart, fond of the small, playful, pink-haired fox.
“Of course. I’ll carry your toothprints to school tomorrow.”
Hua Che smiled softly, lying in Pei Yu’s arms as he sank his fangs into the man’s neck.
“Can you tell what my pheromone smells like?”
Pei Yu asked Wen Sheng.
“Ice, cold, and sharp stones… there’s a feeling of a cold breeze.”
Hua Che carefully identified and described the scent he sensed.
“The scientific name on my pheromone identification report is ‘cold rock amber’.”
Among the many woody, fruity, and floral pheromones, Pei Yu’s was quite uncommon.
Hua Che took a deep breath, inhaling the strongest Alpholixin scent from Pei Yu’s neck.
The temporarily marked spots on his body reacted to the scent, filling him with a strong sense of safety and belonging, softening his body.
He bit into the Alpha’s gland, sinking his fangs into the human skin.
The little fox felt like a tiny vampire, feeding on the Alpha’s glandular bl00d and pheromones.
Alphas cannot be marked, and the bite usually causes pain, but here the feeling was mostly pleasurable.
Pei Yu lowered his gaze to the little fox in his arms, who was clearly addicted and excited, his eyes full of gentleness and indulgence.
He gently patted Hua Che’s back, assuming the role of comforter even though he was the one bitten.
When Hua Che came to himself and released the bitten gland, two clear puncture marks remained.
He licked his fangs with satisfaction, wiping the bl00d from them.
More like a vampire, indeed.
“You little lunatic,” Pei Yu said, rubbing the bl00d from the corner of Hua Che’s mouth with his finger, gently pinching his flushed face.
The little fox licked the bl00d from his fangs, lifting his head to pant.
His lips were bright red, as if soaked in bl00d, the vivid color contrasting with his flushed skin, resembling a rose in full bloom.
His fox ears trembled, the insides turning a deep red with emotion.
His fluffy pink tail curled tightly into a large ball.
“Hah…” Hua Che gasped softly, his eyes slowly closing.
The temporary mark and the scent of bl00d around his lips and teeth seemed to resonate, stirring a deep pleasure.
His neck arched back gently, gasping as if moved by some powerful impulse.
The Alpha’s hand rested on his lower belly, fingertips tracing the curve of his slender waist and mermaid line.
The little fox couldn’t bear it any longer, closing his eyes tightly and pursing his lips to endure the overwhelming rush of pheromones flooding his body.
No one else present could witness this intimate moment—the beautiful little fox, nearly overwhelmed by the intoxicating scent.
Pei Yu held his waist, noting how the slender waist socket pressed in, displacing the metal threads on his hip bone and leaving a clear dark red mark, like a piece of intricately designed clothing.
Hua Che sat on one of Pei Yu’s legs, clutching his knees as he leaned back, his flat belly exposed, revealing his emotional state.
Pei Yu opened his hand, his tiger-like mouth nearly capturing the little fox’s lower belly.
His gaze was deep, flames flickering in his eyes.
“Little flower, my Omega, I promise I will take you away.”
“We’ll buy this Lingguan, okay?”
Hua Che lowered his head, eyes dark.
“It’s not worth it…”
“Hua Che, I don’t want to hear that again.”
Pei Yu rarely spoke so sternly, his tone more commanding and reproachful than usual.
Hua Che sat up straight and gently took Pei Yu’s hand.
His fingers brushed the alarm ring on the Alpha’s little finger, then pressed the red button on it.
“Professor Pei, when you bite me and mark me, do you feel as happy as I do?”
“I do. I’ve never felt such intense joy.”
“I’m happy too… so satisfied in this moment. If only time could freeze right now.”
“Then I could live forever with your mark.”
“If only I could drown in your pheromones…”
Pei Yu frowned, uneasy.
Hua Che continued without hesitation, “I don’t know my exact worth. How much did you spend on me? Was it a million?”
“That means nothing to me. It’s just a number.”
Hua Che shook his head, the excitement and frenzy still lingering but fading.
His emotions swung from wild excitement to low despair.
“It’s not worth it…”
“Hua Che!”
Ignoring Pei Yu’s frustration, Hua Che bowed his head and gently kissed the back of Pei Yu’s hand.
“Then let’s freeze this moment forever.”
He pressed the alarm ring.
Pei Yu’s eyes widened in surprise as the alarm blared and the red light flashed, momentarily blanking his mind.
Amid the noise, Hua Che stretched out his warm, soft tongue, licking Pei Yu’s thumb, then took it into his mouth and bit the alarm ring.
He pulled the ring off Pei Yu’s finger, placing his tongue over it.
The dark red light flickered in Hua Che’s eyes repeatedly, mixed with complex emotions no research could explain.
Suddenly, a tall man burst in and forcibly separated them, several people pulling Pei Yu away.
It took effort to drag Pei Yu off—the Alpha’s powerful body resisted.
The sirens and flashing lights ceased, and silence fell.
Hua Che turned away from them, several scar-faced bodyguards forming a fierce barrier between him and Pei Yu.
The few steps’ distance felt like an impenetrable wall; only Pei Yu’s eyes could reach through.
The store manager, who rushed in, noticed the bite mark on Hua Che’s neck and shouted sharply:
“Mark! You—how dare you mark Hua Che!!”
He looked up at Pei Yu, clearly interpreting the scene as a strong Alpha forcibly marking a vulnerable Omega.
“Do you realize how much this will lower the price of the Fox Oiran? You owe me! If there was no lock, would you still forcefully mark her?”
His face was swollen, a sneer and bl00d at the corner of his mouth.
Grabbing Pei Yu’s collar arrogantly, he declared,
“I’m blacklisting you. Don’t even think about coming back here! Forcibly marking an Omega! You want to squat here…”
Pei Yu’s anger was oddly calm. His eyes met the store manager’s, making the man visibly tremble.
He ignored the chaotic crowd and looked toward Hua Che’s distant back.
“Hua Che, I don’t understand what you’re doing.”
The little fox trembled but said nothing.
“What don’t you understand?”
The store manager sneered.
“‘Please take me away’ is the first lesson in our staff training manual.”
“Marketing strategy or exploitation? Is Professor Pei really falling for this crude trap?”
“Enough, shut your mouth.”
Pei Yu’s voice was sharp and commanding, overwhelming the crowd.
“Speak, Hua Che. You know what happened between us—I only trust you.”
The alarm ring fell to the floor. Hua Che swayed unsteadily, tears streaming down as he turned his back.
“You know that if you say one word, I will believe you without question.”
Pei Yu clenched his fists, voice trembling.
“I know I let you down tonight, but why won’t you… trust me again?”
He sighed softly, suppressing words that threatened to spill.
“I promise to take you away, even if you don’t want to leave here or stay with me, even if you want to find… other people.”
Pei Yu struggled to say the words “other people.”
He stared at the figure unwilling to face him.
“You deserve better.”
