Cheng Yang’s hands trembled slightly.
Â
Xu Xun’s skin was incredibly fair, glowing like a luminous, pearly-white pearl under the bathroom light.
Â
“Yangyang, what are you doing?” Xu Xun turned, smiling warmly at Cheng Yang, her slender, dark eyebrows arching slightly. “Why haven’t you helped me undress yet?”
Â
“Oh.” Cheng Yang swallowed hard, stammering, “Okay, right away… right away.”
Â
Xu Xun wasn’t wearing a bra. Once her outer clothes were off, she stood completely naked before Cheng Yang, making no attempt to conceal herself.
Â
Cheng Yang’s gaze was first drawn to the Omega’s strikingly pale skin, then to the glaring black tattoo on her left arm.
Â
It was a vivid, lifelike black snake.
Â
The snake coiled around Xu Xun’s snow-white arm, its pink tongue flicking, its tail curling around her wrist.
Â
All of Cheng Yang’s earlier romantic fantasies shattered the moment she saw the snake.
Â
“Wife, you have a tattoo?”
Â
“So cool.”
Â
Cheng Yang couldn’t help but reach out, her fingertips slowly tracing the black snake tattoo on Xu Xun’s arm.
Â
She looked up in disbelief, her gaze shifting between the snake tattoo and Xu Xun’s gentle, refined face.
Â
A man as gentle and reserved as Xu Xun had such a large, striking black snake tattooed on his arm.
Â
No wonder Cheng Yang had always seen Xu Xun wearing long sleeves to public events, no matter how hot the weather was, whether he was filming or giving interviews.
Â
Even at home, Cheng Yang had never noticed the tattoo.
Â
Since her amnesia, they hadn’t been intimate, let alone undress in front of each other.
Â
Xu Xun noticed Cheng Yang’s gaze repeatedly drifting to his left arm. “Don’t you like it?”
Â
Cheng Yang shook her head.
Â
Xu Xun’s refined demeanor and handsome features made it hard to reconcile with such a bold black snake tattoo.
Â
“It’s so cool,” she blurted out.
Â
“It must have hurt a lot, right?”
Â
Xu Xun’s lips curved into a slight smile. “Not really. I don’t mind pain much.”
Â
“Not minding pain and not feeling it are two different things,” Cheng Yang retorted, her brow furrowing. She gripped Xu Xun’s wrist and murmured, “How did I never notice this before? It’s so obvious, yet I never saw it.”
Â
“Why did you get this snake tattoo?” she asked.
Â
Her curiosity about their past grew stronger with each passing moment.
Â
Xu Xun paused, then explained, “To… cover a scar.”
Â
“What?”
Â
Cheng Yang was incredulous. She gripped Xu Xun’s left hand tightly, scrutinizing the lines of the snake tattoo until she finally noticed something amiss.
Â
On Xu Xun’s arm were several faint, pale scars that looked like they had been made with a sharp blade.
Â
The black tattoo obscured the scars, making them less noticeable, but they were still visible through the gaps in the coiled design.
Â
Compelled by some inexplicable impulse, Cheng Yang lowered her head and kissed the snake’s head on Xu Xun’s arm.
Â
Xu Xun smiled. “You like it?”
Â
Cheng Yang nodded. “I do. It’s so cool, but I’d never get one myself. I’m too afraid of the pain.”
Â
Xu Xun’s gaze softened as he looked at Cheng Yang’s head. He cupped the back of her neck with his palm and leaned in to kiss her forehead.
Â
“I was scared at first too. But after a while, the pain went numb, and it didn’t seem so bad anymore.”
Â
Cheng Yang blurted out, “Why would you hurt yourself?”
Â
Ever since seeing the scars on Xu Xun’s arm, Cheng Yang knew they were self-inflicted wounds.
Â
Over time, the scars had faded, blending into his skin.
Â
But they still bore the marks of the bl00d that had once flowed from them.
Â
Xu Xun chuckled. “I didn’t. These are from broken glass.”
Â
“Do you think I’m a child you can fool?”
Â
Cheng Yang stared intently at Xu Xun and called out, “A’Xun.”
Â
Xu Xun lowered his gaze, the smile on his lips gradually freezing. “It’s really not.”
Â
Cheng Yang didn’t press further.
Â
Though she had a head injury, she wasn’t stupid. She understood this was Xu Xun’s secret, a pain he couldn’t voice. Even if she desperately wanted to know.
Â
Cheng Yang changed the subject. “Alright, alright, hurry and take a bath. Dr. Jian said you can’t get that area wet, so I’ll help you wash.”
Â
“Okay,” Xu Xun replied obediently, sitting on the small stool in the bathroom.
Â
Standing behind him, Cheng Yang dampened a soft towel with warm water and gently wiped his back, carefully avoiding the glands on the back of his neck.
Â
After being warmed by the hot water, Xu Xun’s skin flushed a delicate pink, like a ripe peach peeled bare.
Â
As if possessed, Cheng Yang lowered her head, her lips almost touching Xu Xun’s shoulder.
Â
Her warm breath brushed against his skin. Xu Xun slowly turned his head, meeting Cheng Yang’s flustered, guilty gaze.
Â
At the last moment, Cheng Yang pulled away.
Â
Jian Fan was right—restraining one’s desires was indeed incredibly difficult.
Â
Especially for two young, vigorous Alphas and Omegas, naked and alone in the same room.
Â
Where Cheng Yang couldn’t see, Xu Xun’s lips curled into a smirk, feigning ignorance.
Â
Cheng Yang rubbed her nose, quickly finished drying Xu Xun’s back, and handed her the towel.
Â
“Honey, I’ll wait outside. I’m afraid I won’t be able to control myself… with you… you know…”
Â
Xu Xun feigned innocence. “With me what?”
Â
“You know… that.”
Â
Cheng Yang stammered, unable to finish her sentence, and turned to flee.
Â
Xu Xun watched her retreating figure, her lips curving into a helpless smile.
Â
Outside the bathroom, Cheng Yang gasped for breath.
Â
For an Alpha, an Omega who was completely unguarded in her presence, and who occasionally uttered such tempting words, was the ultimate temptation.
Â
Cheng Yang bit her lower lip, sitting on the bed with her hands propping up her cheeks.
Â
The tattoo on Xu Xun’s arm had been truly astonishing.
Â
She immediately grabbed her phone and searched for “Xu Xun tattoo,” but found nothing.
Â
Given Xu Xun’s status as a public figure, she would need to conceal such a large tattoo.
Â
Sitting at her computer, Cheng Yang had initially intended to search for information about Xu Xun’s tattoo, but ended up scrolling through videos of her for half an hour.
Â
When she finally snapped out of it, she realized Xu Xun had been in the bathroom for over half an hour.
Â
Just a quick wash, why is it taking so long?
Â
Cheng Yang couldn’t help but feel anxious.
Â
She closed her laptop and walked to the bathroom door, knocking gently with her knuckles.
Â
“Honey, are you almost done?”
Â
There was no response from inside.
Â
Cheng Yang thought she heard the sound of running water. “Honey, are you showering? You can’t get the back of your neck wet!” she called out urgently.
Â
The water stopped immediately.
Â
Cheng Yang breathed a sigh of relief.
Â
Still, she couldn’t shake her unease. She had no idea what Xu Xun was doing inside.
Â
Pressing her hand against the door, she leaned close, straining to hear any sounds. She was ready to break down the door if anything seemed amiss.
Â
Unbeknownst to Cheng Yang, just a door separated them, their palms nearly touching.
Â
Xu Xun’s right arm, tattooed with a black snake, hung limply.
Â
The veins on the back of her left hand bulged, her fingertips flushed pink, softened by the hot water.
Â
Her palm was damp.
Â
Streaks of moisture crisscrossed the frosted glass door, warm, clear droplets sliding slowly down its surface.
Â
Xu Xun’s swollen, crimson lips parted slightly, the tip of her pink tongue pressing against her teeth.
Â
Soft, fragmented moans escaped her throat.
Â
“Yangyang…”
Â
“My Yangyang…”
Â
The voice was low and restrained, yet its timbre was seductively wanton.
Â
What a pity.
Â
Only she could hear it.
