- Chapter 18 - Addicted - Marked by Her Omega
The consequence of Cheng Yang’s resistance was being pinned to the sofa by Xu Xun and marked.
She had always believed that only Alphas could mark Omegas, never imagining that Omegas could also leave marks on Alphas.
Her nape tingled with a faint ache.
Cheng Yang instinctively reached back to touch it, but Xu Xun caught her wrist.
“Don’t touch it. Your hands are dirty.”
Cheng Yang felt weak and limp, her body drained of energy.
Part of this was due to her recent injury, which had left her physically weakened.
The other part was because she had exhausted all her strength during their struggle.
As an Alpha, this felt utterly humiliating.
*This is so embarrassing,* Cheng Yang thought, though the corners of her mouth nearly stretched to her ears.
Feeling the mark on her nape, she blushed and burrowed into Xu Xun’s arms.
“Wife,” Cheng Yang murmured lazily, her voice husky and languid. “The mark you left earlier… it stings a little.”
Hearing this, Xu Xun tenderly brushed aside the stray hairs at the back of Cheng Yang’s head, examining the bite mark with a furrowed brow.
“Does it really hurt? I only bit you gently.”
Xu Xun said guiltily, “I’m sorry, Yangyang. I… I didn’t think it would hurt so much. It’s all my fault…”
Seeing Xu Xun’s frantic rambling, his eyes brimming with tears that threatened to spill, Cheng Yang quickly sat up.
“Honey, it doesn’t hurt anymore! I was just teasing you earlier, trying to get you to kiss me there again.”
A scalding tear splashed onto the back of Cheng Yang’s hand.
Xu Xun asked, his voice choked with emotion, “Really? If I bit you too hard, you have to tell me the truth. Don’t lie to me.”
“It’s really okay!” Cheng Yang shook her head. “Your mark is shallow. It stung a little at first, but it quickly turned into a tingly, numb sensation that was actually quite pleasant. I’m almost addicted to it now.”
Xu Xun moved his dry lips, still unconvinced. “Don’t lie to me.”
Cheng Yang sighed helplessly, then smiled. “Honey, it’s really fine. If I’d known it would upset you this much, I wouldn’t have pretended like that.”
She muttered, “I was just trying to get more kisses… who knew…”
Xu Xun pulled Cheng Yang into a tight embrace, his voice hoarse. “No more jokes like that. You can have kisses anytime you want.”
“Awoo.”

The villa in the estate was undeniably beautiful, but Cheng Yang didn’t want to sleep there.
She still preferred their apartment downtown. This place lacked warmth and felt a bit eerie.
Xu Xun noticed Cheng Yang’s discomfort. “I don’t come here often either,” he said. “Maybe twice a month. If you don’t like it, we can go home.”
With the weather getting warmer, Cheng Yang didn’t feel like going for walks. Her main exercise at home consisted of kissing, cuddling, and being lifted into the air by Xu Xun.
Jian Fan always urged her to get more exercise, claiming it would aid her recovery. But lately, all she’d been exercising were her lips.
No wonder she couldn’t overpower Xu Xun in bed. Her body was too weak, and she hated exercising.
On the way home, Cheng Yang hooked her arm through Xu Xun’s, leaning affectionately against his shoulder. Her other hand secretly rested on her stomach.
*Thank goodness, my abs are still there.*
Cheng Yang exhaled in relief.
Xu Xun had noticed her subtle movements. After a moment’s thought, he understood her concern.
He gently placed a warm hand on her lower abdomen. Cheng Yang turned her head, meeting the amusement in his eyes.
“What are you doing, touching my stomach?”
Xu Xun chuckled. “What? Do I need to ask permission to touch you now?”
Cheng Yang shook her head. “Not exactly.”
Xu Xun’s fingers lightly pinched her soft abdomen.
“So soft,” he murmured.
Cheng Yang immediately held her breath.
Xu Xun couldn’t help but chuckle. “Actually, I don’t like abs. I prefer soft, squishy bellies.”
Cheng Yang deflated again, grabbing Xu Xun’s hand and pressing it against her stomach.
“Then you can touch it all you want.”
Xu Xun’s palm felt the soft skin of Cheng Yang’s abdomen.
After a while, she had touched enough, but she still didn’t want to pull away.
Cheng Yang felt so comfortable being touched by Xu Xun that she was dozing off in the car when Xu Xun’s voice suddenly whispered in her ear.
“Just touching isn’t enough. Can I kiss you when we get back?”
Cheng Yang mumbled sleepily, “Kiss… however you want…”
The two women’s mushy conversation was overheard by Dongdong, who was driving.
Dongdong floored the accelerator, speeding down the road as fast as she could, desperate to get these two troublesome ancestors home at light speed.
Unfortunately, traffic was jammed in the city center.
It was rush hour, and the roads were completely gridlocked.
Cheng Yang was drifting back to sleep.
Xu Xun wasn’t paying attention when Cheng Yang suddenly slumped backward, her head slamming against the soft leather seat.
“Ah!”
Cheng Yang yelped in pain, jolting awake.
Xu Xun was texting his manager when Cheng Yang’s scream startled him, causing his phone to slip from his hand and clatter to the floor.
“Yangyang!”
Cheng Yang winced in pain, tears welling up instantly.
Xu Xun pulled her into his arms, carefully examining the gauze on her head. Seeing no bl00d seeping through, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Still, he couldn’t afford to be complacent.
“Dongdong, we’re not going home yet. Drive to Central Hospital.”
This day had been a rollercoaster of ups and downs.
Xu Xun had just left the hospital, and now he was heading back in with Cheng Yang.
Cheng Yang cautiously touched the back of her head, even the slightest touch sending a sharp pain through her.
She clenched her jaw, taking small, shallow breaths, trying to appear composed.
But her clumsy act couldn’t fool Xu Xun.
“Yangyang, don’t try to be strong. We’ll be at the hospital soon.”
Cheng Yang sniffled, her eyes embarrassingly red.
She seemed more vulnerable than ever.
Xu Xun kissed her eyelids. “Close your eyes for now. We’ll be there soon.”
Cheng Yang obediently closed her eyes, nestling against Xu Xun’s chest. She looked so fragile and pitiful, nothing like the Alpha she was.
“Wife.”
Cheng Yang moved her lips. “Do you think I’m being pathetic right now?”
“Of course not. You’re just sick.”
Cheng Yang curled up in Xu Xun’s arms, sobbing softly, her nose filled with the comforting pheromones of an Omega.
She closed her eyes. If not for her willpower, she would have fallen asleep immediately.

Ten minutes later, Central Hospital.
This was the hospital where Cheng Yang had been treated after her car accident.
Her attending physician was intimately familiar with her medical history.
That’s why Xu Xun hadn’t sought a second opinion elsewhere.
Ye Bingying’s presence here today left Xu Xun uneasy. She truly didn’t want to return to this place of trouble.
If she were alone, it wouldn’t matter. But she was here with Cheng Yang.
What if Ye Bingying secretly said something to Cheng Yang…?
Xu Xun pinched the bridge of her nose and asked Dongdong to borrow a wheelchair from the emergency room.
She carefully helped Cheng Yang into it.
Cheng Yang said, a little embarrassed, “Wife, my leg isn’t broken. I can walk myself.”
Xu Xun’s tone left no room for argument. “Sit down.”
Cheng Yang obediently settled into the chair, her hands neatly folded on her lap, looking unnaturally well-behaved.
“Wife, I’m ready,” Xu Xun said, a faint smile curving his lips as he pushed Cheng Yang toward the emergency room.
Several hours had passed since they first encountered Ye Bingying. Xu Xun figured the woman must have left the hospital by now.
She let out a sigh of relief.
But when misfortune strikes, even drinking cold water can choke you to death.
Xu Xun glanced at the figure in the distance and rolled his eyes.
Ye Bingying hadn’t left.
She stood at the emergency room entrance, staring intently at Xu Xun, her gaze piercing as if trying to bore through him.
