After Amnesia, the Fishing-Type O Tempts Me to Mark Her - Chapter 5
“Have you been with other Omegas before…?”
Â
When Cheng Yang opened her eyes, she was still met with Xu Xun’s tear-reddened eyes.
Â
She coughed softly, a sharp pain shooting through the back of her head.
Â
Cheng Yang reached out a hand, gently wiping away the tear streaks beneath Xu Xun’s eyes. She forced a weak smile. “I’m fine.”
Â
Xu Xun gripped Cheng Yang’s un-injected right hand tightly, pressing kisses against its smooth, pale back and knuckles. He murmured, “It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have done that. I hurt you.”
Â
The two exchanged tender, sweet words, completely oblivious to the “third wheel” standing nearby.
Â
Jian Fan stood by the door, arms crossed, watching the scene unfold. She remained silent, racking her brain for a way to stop it all, but coming up empty.
Â
Once Cheng Yang had drifted back to sleep, Jian Fan said flatly, “Xu Xun, come outside with me.”
Â
Cheng Yang slept fitfully, vaguely hearing the sounds of a heated argument outside.
With great effort, she pried open her heavy eyes, pushed back the covers, and sat up. She remained motionless on the bed for a long time before finally getting up.
As soon as her foot touched the floor, Cheng Yang’s legs buckled, and she collapsed unexpectedly.
The faint noise startled Xu Xun, who burst through the door. “Yangyang! Why did you get out of bed without saying a word?!”
Xu Xun helped Cheng Yang back onto the bed. Cheng Yang glanced down at the dislodged IV line on her right hand, her head bowed as she murmured, “I woke up and didn’t see you.”
Xu Xun’s words caught in her throat. She hugged Cheng Yang tightly, tears glistening in her eyes. “I understand. I’ll never leave your side again.”
Cheng Yang’s lips curved into a faint smile. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Jian Fan standing nearby, his expression unreadable, his gaze complex and difficult to decipher.
When Jian Fan met Cheng Yang’s bewildered gaze, he subtly shifted his attention and approached to examine the IV line on her hand.
During her fall from the bed, Cheng Yang had braced herself with her hands, applying excessive force that caused a small amount of bl00d to seep from her right hand.
Noticing the bl00d, Xu Xun gently touched Cheng Yang’s hand with her fingertips. “Jian Fan, is Yangyang’s hand okay?”
Jian Fan replied expressionlessly, “It’s fine. This IV drip is almost finished. You need to keep a closer eye on her in the future. It’s lucky she didn’t hit her head.”
Cheng Yang stared at Xu Xun, who seemed even more nervous than she was. Taking advantage of Jian Fan’s distraction, she tilted her head and nuzzled the Omega’s chin with her nose, saying sweetly, “A’Xun, don’t worry. I’ll be careful.”
After the IV drip finished, Jian Fan bent down to remove the needle from Cheng Yang’s arm.
The Alpha’s hands were long and pale, with faint blue veins visible on the back of his hands. The transparent needle piercing the thin skin created a strangely poignant beauty.
Xu Xun watched Cheng Yang’s hand intently, his gaze fixed on the spot where the needle had been inserted. As if sensing his unease, Jian Fan said without turning around, “It’s just removing a needle. No need to be so tense. Come over and press down for three minutes.”
“Okay,” Xu Xun replied obediently, pressing the cotton ball against Cheng Yang’s arm. While Jian Fan packed up the IV equipment, she murmured, “Don’t leave right away. I need to ask you something.”
Jian Fan replied flatly, “Didn’t we already discuss everything?”
Xu Xun turned to look at Cheng Yang, whose eyes held a hint of confusion. “There’s something else,” she said, “about Yangyang.”
Seeing Xu Xun’s hand still pressing the snow-white cotton ball against her arm, Cheng Yang forced a dry smile. “A’Xun, why don’t you two go talk outside? I can press it myself.”
As she watched Xu Xun and Jian Fan leave the room, Cheng Yang’s gaze remained fixed on the Omega’s slender, graceful figure. A soft smile curved her lips.
In the villa garden, Jian Fan stood behind Xu Xun, staring at the Omega’s stubborn back. “Why did you ask me to come out here?” she asked.
Xu Xun replied softly, “How is Yangyang’s health?”
“She’s fine,” Jian Fan said. “She just needs to avoid stimulation and strenuous activity.”
Recalling the day’s events, Jian Fan’s expression suddenly turned strange. “You two… shouldn’t have s3x,” she warned. “Extreme arousal could stimulate her cerebral cortex, potentially triggering the very thing you fear most.”
Xu Xun turned to ask, “What thing?”
Jian Fan raised an eyebrow. “Her memories returning.”
Xu Xun, usually stoic, now betrayed her anxiety through subtle facial twitches.
Jian Fan spoke earnestly, “I urge you to face reality. Stolen things never last. Sooner or later, the truth will come out.”
Xu Xun stiffened her neck and nodded. “I’ll bear the consequences myself. Thank you.”
—
Cheng Yang lay in bed all afternoon. It wasn’t until dusk that Xu Xun finally pushed open the door and entered the room.
A faint peach scent lingered in the air, growing stronger near the bed, where a faint antiseptic odor mingled with the sweetness.
Xu Xun opened the window to air out the room and sat on the edge of the bed, holding Cheng Yang’s left hand.
“A’Xun, what did you two talk about?” Cheng Yang asked.
Xu Xun smiled. “Nothing much. I asked about your condition. Jian Fan said you’re doing well and will recover soon.”
Cheng Yang touched her head. “When will my amnesia be cured? I still know nothing about you. I want to learn more, otherwise I feel uneasy.”
Xu Xun paused, then said, “We can’t force it. Jian Fan said we should let it come naturally. If you try too hard, your memories might get confused. Let’s take it slow.”
Seeing Cheng Yang’s crestfallen expression, Xu Xun’s lips curved into a gentle smile as she pulled the Alpha into her arms. “Don’t worry, Yangyang,” she said softly. “I’m here for you. If you can’t remember, I’ll tell you everything. How does that sound?”
Cheng Yang’s lips curled into a lazy smile as she leaned against Xu Xun’s chest. “Perfect. Then I won’t try to remember. I’ll just listen to you. Just don’t get annoyed with me.”
Xu Xun lowered her gaze and kissed Cheng Yang’s forehead, a flicker of darkness crossing her eyes. She nodded. “Alright. What do you want to hear?”
“I want to… I want to hear…”
Cheng Yang pondered for a moment, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. “I want to hear about how we dated in high school. Did anyone know we were secretly together? Did we ever get caught by the Dean while sneaking out on dates?”
Xu Xun’s lips curved into a gentle smile. “No, we were always very careful.”
Cheng Yang bit her lower lip, leaned over, and pressed a quick kiss to the corner of Xu Xun’s mouth. “Did I ever kiss you like this back then?”
A faint blush spread across Xu Xun’s face in an instant, starting from her earlobes. Her brow furrowed slightly as she shook her head. “N-no… we didn’t…”
“No? I don’t believe you.” Cheng Yang stared intently into Xu Xun’s beautiful almond-shaped eyes, noticing her involuntary blink. “You’re lying,” she teased. “We definitely kissed secretly.”
Xu Xun’s gaze slowly lowered. “Really, we didn’t. I’m not lying.”
Cheng Yang sighed dramatically. “Ah, dating without kissing? What exactly did we even do then?”
Xu Xun bit her lip, mumbling, “Why are you only thinking about kissing? Just holding your hand was enough to make me…”
Cheng Yang didn’t catch the rest of her words, only hearing “kissing.” She grinned. “What was that?”
“N-nothing…” Xu Xun stammered.
Seeing Xu Xun’s hesitation, Cheng Yang wanted to kiss the truth out of him. But the memory of what had happened in bed earlier that day made her momentarily wary, so she reluctantly let it go.
Cheng Yang sighed. “I can’t believe I used to be so reserved. Even kissing made me shy?”
Xu Xun nodded. Cheng Yang’s gaze fixed intently on his lips. The Omega’s lips were a delicate pink, full and beautifully shaped, practically begging to be kissed.
Drawn by some inexplicable impulse, Cheng Yang leaned in. Xu Xun’s lips slowly pressed together.
They exchanged a silent glance, Xu Xun’s eyes crinkling into a smile as he looped his arms around Cheng Yang’s neck. “Yangyang,” he said with a laugh, “kiss me slowly this time, or your head—”
Xu Xun obediently parted his lips, and in the heat of the moment, he bit down on Cheng Yang’s lower lip, one hand gripping the Alpha’s neck to pull her closer.
Cheng Yang hadn’t expected Xu Xun to be so forward. It was a complete surprise, but she didn’t hesitate, kissing him back with fervor.
Their lips brushed against each other, creating an invisible current that surged through their bodies, igniting a fire within Cheng Yang.
Seeing the situation about to escalate, Xu Xun hastily pushed Cheng Yang away. Her eyes shimmered with tears, and her lips were swollen and reddened from the fervent kisses. Her collar was disheveled, and her entire body felt numb and tingling. She should have yielded to the moment, coaxing Cheng Yang to mark her, but the Alpha’s practiced and masterful kissing technique sent a chill through her, as if she had plunged into an icy abyss.
Cheng Yang, mistaking Xu Xun’s reaction as displeasure with her actions, clung to her like a soft, affectionate kitten, gently licking and kissing Xu Xun’s lips.
“A’Xun, did I bite you too hard just now? Don’t be angry with me. I won’t do it again.”
Xu Xun stiffened her neck and retorted, “I’m not angry, and you didn’t bite me too hard. Your kissing skills are excellent.”
The words sounded awkward, and Cheng Yang immediately sensed Xu Xun’s genuine, yet inexplicable, anger.
During their kiss, Xu Xun had suddenly softened, and Cheng Yang had rejoiced at her ability to please her Omega. But the next moment, reality struck her hard.
Xu Xun refused to let her delve deeper into her heart, even coldly pushing her away.
Cheng Yang felt deeply hurt. She didn’t know what kind of person she had been before, but now she was overwhelmed with sadness.
Two silent streams of tears trickled from the corners of her eyes. Cheng Yang slowly reached up to touch them, astonished to find herself crying.
This feeling was utterly foreign to Cheng Yang. She even felt as if these tears shouldn’t be falling from her eyes at all.
Xu Xun was still angry, but when he saw Cheng Yang’s tear-streaked face, he was startled by the sudden turn of events.
Cheng Yang’s eyes were red-rimmed as she let the tears soak into the quilt.
Xu Xun asked anxiously, “Why are you crying?”
Cheng Yang stubbornly turned her head away, refusing to let him wipe her tears. “I’m fine, I’m perfectly fine. If you don’t like me kissing you, then we just won’t kiss anymore.”
Sensing Xu Xun’s silence, Cheng Yang continued resentfully, “If you don’t want me to kiss you, it means you don’t really like me deep down. If that’s true, what’s the point of us getting married? We might as well divorce now. It would be better for both of us.”
Xu Xun’s long-standing awkwardness had become deeply ingrained in his soul. No matter how socially adept and polished he appeared in public, when it came to Cheng Yang, he remained as insecure and timid as he had been years ago.
The two stared at each other, neither willing to yield.
Under Cheng Yang’s direct, intense gaze, Xu Xun finally broke. In a self-destructive fit of pique, he blurted out, “You didn’t kiss this well before. Have you been kissing other Omegas?”
