Chapter 53: I’m Feeling Very… Unsatisfied Right Now
This woman shouldn’t think I’m that easy to fool.
But instead of being threatened, Fu Qingyun stepped closer, her eyes full of tenderness.
“If you want Xingyu Entertainment, I have the authority to give it to you.”
What the hell?
Does this woman only ever think about money? Just because she has it, she thinks she can buy the whole world? Does she think I’m that kind of person? I’m not that kind of person.
“You’re being reckless and unreasonable.”
Qiao Sijin didn’t end up doing anything to the contract. After all, it was her decision back then. Even if she had to do it all over again, she wouldn’t regret it.
“Yes. What else do you want? Whatever it is… I can give it to you.”
Let that count as making up for her previous mistakes.
Before she could finish speaking, Qiao Sijin walked right up to Fu Qingyun, hands behind her back, tightly gripping her copy of the contract.
The distance between them shrank.
“Anything I want, really…?”
“Then how about this—I’ll forgive you if you follow my every command, 100%. Can you do that?”
A dangerous charm glimmered in her eyes, making Fu Qingyun’s heart race. This was a very different Qiao Sijin from before.
“What exactly does 100% mean? Could you be more specific? I’m afraid I won’t understand otherwise.”
With a fake look of humility, Fu Qingyun asked. Qiao Sijin, who saw through her act, figured—fine. If she’s going to “humbly ask,” then I might as well lay it out. Let’s see who gets embarrassed first.
“Then listen closely. I’m only going to say this once.”
“One, everything I say—you obey.”
“Two, come when I call. No exceptions.”
“Three, fulfill the first two rules. No questions asked.”
Fu Qingyun reached for the contract Qiao Sijin was holding behind her, but she clutched it tighter, refusing to give in.
“Alright. If that will calm you down, I’ll do it. I promise.”
She didn’t make promises easily. But once she did, she would always keep them.
Seeing how easily Fu Qingyun agreed, Qiao Sijin felt a bit incredulous. If she’d known this idiot was so easy to fool, she would’ve asked for a million instead.
“You’re serious? You’re really agreeing to this?”
Damn it, she wasn’t serious at all.
She was just messing around—wanted to tease Fu Qingyun, get her all flustered, annoyed, and storm off. That was the plan.
She never expected Fu Qingyun to play along.
The old Fu Qingyun never would’ve. Had she just outsmarted herself?
“Mm. After all… Miss Qiao, you’re the top money-maker in all of Xingyu Entertainment, aren’t you?”
“Investing in you is nothing but profit for me. As a businesswoman, it’s the smartest move I can make.”
And now she’s rambling again. Qiao Sijin realized—Fu Qingyun had definitely changed. From a tiger to a fox.
Getting sneakier by the day.
And she hadn’t even noticed.
Fine. Let’s play.
“You’re doing all this just for money? That’s not like you, Fu Qingyun.”
“I’m not who I used to be.”
“I’m very… unsatisfied these days.”
“Want to test me?”
The teasing in her tone was off the charts. Qiao Sijin had already lived half a life of indulgence. Looking at Fu Qingyun now, she seemed more like a high school student.
If it were the older Fu Qingyun, she wouldn’t even consider messing with her.
But this version? Made her want to grab her, mess her up good, then walk away without a second thought.
Wouldn’t that be fun?
“Gladly. I’m at your service anytime.”
“Though… Miss Qiao, you seem to be even busier than I am these days, what with your thriving career.”
“Do you even have time to boss me around?”
With a slight tug, Fu Qingyun finally got the contract out of her hand. Qiao Sijin’s fingers released it reluctantly, feeling a little guilty.
She wasn’t wrong—Qiao Sijin really was busy lately. Her entire schedule for the year was already booked solid.
“Don’t get smug.”
“I will settle this score with you.”
Only the two of them were in the office, making the atmosphere feel unusually intimate. But Qiao Sijin didn’t mind. This kind of tension had been common back when they were together.
“In that case, I’m afraid Miss Qiao won’t be leaving the company tonight.”
Standing at the floor-to-ceiling windows, Fu Qingyun looked down—and sure enough, the paparazzi who had left earlier were now back at the front entrance, swarming like vultures.
“Are you kidding me? Don’t these people ever quit?!”
Qiao Sijin rested her forehead against the glass, filled with despair. When she got out of the car earlier, she’d been so angry she hadn’t thought straight.
She had stormed in, acting on impulse.
Now she was deeply regretting it. If she’d known the paparazzi would come back, she wouldn’t have been so headstrong.
How was she supposed to get home now?
That was a real problem.
There was no way she had the patience to wait them out.
Especially since she had scenes to shoot tomorrow. She couldn’t just camp out in the company overnight.
“As our most valuable employee, I wouldn’t mind letting Miss Qiao sleep in my office tonight.”
Qiao Sijin turned to glare at her through gritted teeth. Just listen to this woman—completely taking advantage of the situation!
“I’m not sleeping here.”
“This sofa is rock hard. Who can sleep on this thing?”
Arms crossed, she leaned against the window.
“Suit yourself.”
Fu Qingyun glanced at the contract in her hand. Years ago, Qiao Sijin’s handwriting had been youthful and unsure. Now, her signature was bold and confident.
If you weren’t a hardcore fan, you’d never guess it was the same person.
She placed the contract back on her desk. She still had a few unfinished tasks left from earlier, when the reporters showed up.
Now was the perfect time to wrap everything up.
“Hey, hey, hey—you’re really just going to start working?”
Qiao Sijin watched her pull out the chair and turn on the computer like she wasn’t even there.
What was she, invisible? So rude!
“Mm. If you’re bored, you can ask my assistant for the WiFi password. My bodyguards are stationed outside. The reporters won’t be able to get up here.”
Amid all the nonsense, Qiao Sijin zeroed in on the key piece of information.
“You think I’m out of data or something?”
That’s what she said, but she still opened the door and went to look for Assistant Zhou.
If there’s free WiFi, why not use it?
It’s not like the company’s her house or anything.
