- Chapter 24 - Having sex with your older husbands, and getting your tail up
On Sunday afternoon, the sun gently streamed through the window. Bai Zixin nestled on the sofa, licking her favorite limited edition hazelnut ice cream. She wiggled her toes, looking as lazy as a kitten that had just basked in the sun.
Pei Yanchuan sat beside her, flipping through documents. Even his shirt and trousers couldn’t hide the cold aura that kept strangers away.
Bai Zixin took another bite of ice cream, her eyes suddenly rolling with mischief. With a sly smile, she asked:
“Hey, Pei Yanchuan, why do you like me?”
This wasn’t the first time she had asked, but her tone today was unusually playful, as if she were testing him.
Pei Yanchuan didn’t even lift his head. A faint smile touched his lips. “You have an interesting personality and you’re very cute… Besides, I need a wife.”
Bai Zixin: “…” That’s such a logical reason.
She ate happily. “Is this some kind of bidding selection? With so many S-rank beauties, why did you choose me?”
At last, he closed the file and turned to her. His eyes were as dark as black holes, his tone unreasonably serious.
“There aren’t many S-level girls in the galaxy, let alone S+. But there are plenty of men. Do you want me to date other men? And have a lesbian relationship with your husbands?”
The mood instantly shifted.
Not far away, Gao Muting was polishing his sword, and Ye Yibai was adjusting the smart baking machine. Their movements froze, then—
“…What?”
“What did you say?”
The two turned to look at Pei Yanchuan at the same time, their eyes sharp with warning.
Pei Yanchuan, however, looked innocent. He even added slowly, “I’m just stating reality. After all, a man like me—why can’t I date other men? Don’t you think so?”
Gao Muting sneered. “…I suggest you shut up right now.”
Ye Yibai’s mouth twitched. “If you say that again, I’ll kick you out of the dessert group chat.”
Bai Zixin couldn’t help laughing as she watched sparks fly between them. Tears welled in her eyes. “Hey, hey, you three really act like… a jealous trio of backups.”
Pei Yanchuan turned his head, smiling faintly, but his eyes were like a fox hiding a blade. “They are, but I’m not.”
Bai Zixin: “Come on, you just confessed you want to date men…”
His tone suddenly softened, unnaturally gentle. “That’s because only with you do I have the thought of ‘being serious for life.’”
Bai Zixin’s heart skipped a beat. She quickly lowered her head and licked the ice cream to cool down. “Why are you so good at talking…”
Night fell. The house lights dimmed. The silence was broken only by the ticking clock.
In Pei Yanchuan’s office, a meeting was in full swing. He wore a sharp suit, his expression cold and steady, as if the entire Universe Federation was under his control.
Yet in the corner of that commanding scene, a petite figure nestled in his arms.
Bai Zixin wore soft pajamas, her hair loose, her eyes sparkling. She leaned against his chest bonelessly, playing with the buttons on his sleeve while stealing glances at the video screen. She whispered:
“Hey… I’m sitting here naked, aren’t I?… What should I do?”
Pei Yanchuan lowered his head and kissed her forehead with a smile. “It’s fine. They’re used to it.”
On the other side of the screen, his subordinates fell silent for a second at the “wife’s sudden appearance.” Then their group chat lit up:
[Madam is so beautiful.]
[Good night, Madam.]
[Madam, are you wearing the StarCraft limited series today?]
[Boss Pei must be in heaven right now…]
Bai Zixin’s cheeks burned. She lowered her voice and snapped, “Don’t these people have work to do?!”
“My subordinates are sensible,” Pei Yanchuan said lazily, “and they know how to respect my treasure.”
He tilted his head and gazed at her deeply, as if imprinting her into memory. “It’s my shift today, so you have to stay home and rest.”
Bai Zixin curled her lips and muttered, “Your tone is really unfair.”
Pei Yanchuan raised a brow and chuckled. “I never meant to play fair.”
She glared at him, but her fingers unconsciously clutched his, rubbing softly.
The meeting continued, but the two of them seemed wrapped in their own world—she answered him softly now and then, sometimes tilting her head onto his shoulder to act coquettishly. He handled his business while absentmindedly touching her hair, as if he was already used to her leaning on him like this.
When the meeting ended and the screen went dark, Pei Yanchuan switched off the communicator. He picked her up in his arms, his movements practiced, as though he had done it countless times.
“Baby, time to rest. You have a date tomorrow. Staying up late will wear you down…”
Bai Zixin smiled and hooked her arms around his neck. “Okay, let’s go, husband.”
The corners of his lips lifted into a knowing smile—
Like a fox who had won completely, his tail raised high.
