- After Becoming A Popular Girl, I Choose My Husband On Planet X
- Chapter 4 - Who's the Big Husband? The Ranked Battle Begins
Bai Zixin sat on the stone chair in the herb garden, her face innocent. Behind her, flowers bloomed with rich fragrance, butterflies danced in the air—yet in front of her was a battlefield.
On her left stood Gao Muting, his uniform sharp and straight, his presence cold as a glacier.
On her right stood Ye Yibai, his white shirt slightly open, his smile warm as spring water.
And the cause of it all was nothing more than a careless little joke she had just made—
“Hey, then which one of you will be the main husband, and which one will be the second?” She had heard from the servants that on this planet, S-rank women could have up to five husbands, but they still had to be ranked in order.
The air went silent for two seconds.
Then, the scene exploded.
Gao Muting raised an eyebrow, his voice as cold as an arctic storm. “Of course me. I’m A+, deputy general of the military, older than you, with deeper experience. By seniority, by merit, it’s only right I rank first.”
Ye Yibai still wore that harmless smile, but his eyes clearly showed defiance. “This isn’t some contest for retired officers. Zixin is choosing a husband, not an old mentor. I was the first candidate she chose on her own. First come, first served.”
Gao Muting’s gaze turned sharp. “She only picked you because she didn’t understand the class system.”
Ye Yibai’s smile thinned, his voice soft yet edged with thorns. “No, she picked me because she understands beauty. Understand? Beau-ty.”
Gao Muting: “…” Eat sh1t!
The two faced off for a long moment, neither willing to yield. The blooming herbs around them seemed to turn into a forest of blades, even the wind took another path.
Bai Zixin shrank her neck a little, leaned back against the chair, and blinked. “So… are you planning to fight now?”
“No.” Gao Muting gnashed his teeth.
“No.” Ye Yibai nodded with a smile.
And the very next second—
Both men stepped forward at the same time, their foreheads almost touching, their noses nearly brushing. The air between them crackled with the force of I’ve disliked you for a long time.
Ye Yibai kept his gentle smile, but his tone was like a needle hidden in spring water. “Still, I don’t mind having a match with you.”
Gao Muting curved his lips, his voice full of challenge. “Fine. Whoever loses will be the second husband. Dare you?”
Bai Zixin was sucking on a jelly-planet candy and nearly choked, clutching her chest as she coughed several times. “Cough, cough… You two… care this much about rank?”
Both men spoke at once:
“Of course I care.”
“I care very much.”
Ye Yibai: “I can accept that she has other husbands, but I cannot accept you standing in front of me.”
Gao Muting: “And I will never let you stand on top of me.”
Bai Zixin: “…”
Why did this scene feel more and more like some ancient palace harem drama, except turned into a men’s moral lecture?
“Then how about… rock-paper-scissors?”
“No.” The two men rejected in unison…
“PK fight?”
“Still no.”
“See who does more housework?”
Gao Muting paused slightly, his tone righteous: “I’m the deputy general of the military. I don’t cook.”
Ye Yibai instantly replied: “Perfect, then I can cook for her all my life.”
Gao Muting: “…”
Ye Yibai: “Being good at housework is definightly a plus.”
Bai Zixin laughed so hard her shoulders shook, almost dropping the candy from her mouth. She thought, if these two went on a dating reality show, the ratings would explode.
At last, she clapped her hands and made an epic, bold decision: “How about this—Big Husband’s seat will rotate every month. Your ranking will depend on my monthly score—like how sweet you are when we sleep together, how often you cook, how many creative ways you pamper me, and… who makes me less angry!”
The two men fell silent for half a second, as if calculating their winning chances.
Ye Yibai smiled and spoke first: “I’m fine with that.”
Gao Muting frowned, then finally nodded: “…Fine.”
Bai Zixin flashed a mischievous catlike smile, stood up with her umbrella, her little tiger tooth glinting as her eyes sparkled with mischief: “Then tonight, who’s eating dinner with me?”
Both men raised their hands almost at the same time: “Me.”
Bai Zixin: “…Alright, then you two settle it with rock-paper-scissors!”
Three seconds later, two handsome men stood side by side, full aura unleashed, throwing hand signs.
—Rock!
—Scissors!
Bai Zixin: “…Can you two please not throw the same thing?!”
Gao Muting said coldly: “Deception tactic, understand?”
Ye Yibai said with a faint smile: “Teamwork test, just a warm-up.”
Bai Zixin: “Did I marry two husbands, or did I just pick up two kindergarten classmates?”
She hugged her candy, eyes full of laughter, watching this “adult version of love ranking battle.”
—From this day on, Bai Zixin understood one deep truth:
Sometimes, being a wife is really exhausting. Especially when you have to carry two love rivals to the top at the same time.
