- Chapter 7 - This woman is like a piece of delicious meat, making two dogs salivate
Bai Zixin lay down quietly at first, curled up in her little corner like a marshmallow. But as the night grew quiet and sleep sank deeper, she turned once… then turned again.
And then—
With one roll, she fell right into Gao Muting’s arms.
The man was still asleep, but by instinct he reached out to hold her. Then he woke, his movement sharp and precise, like he had been trained for it. His arm tightened, and Bai Zixin’s whole face pressed against his chest. Her nose bumped into the button of his pajama top, and she let out a soft little hum.
She mumbled, “So warm… mm… like a blanket dried under the sun…”
Gao Muting’s breath paused. He seemed to feel that same soft, familiar warmth. His voice came out lower than usual, a little hoarse. “…Be good, don’t move, go to sleep.”
And then he smiled.
Yes, the always cold and hard Gao Muting—smiled.
Bai Zixin was so soft, rubbing against him felt too comfortable. But so comfortable that it almost woke a beast inside him, and that was dangerous. The two men had agreed: they could not force Bai Zixin.
Damn it, his own wife, and he couldn’t even do anything. It was suffocating!
But the next second—
On the other side of the bed, Ye Yibai turned over, his face now toward them. Half-asleep, he sensed something was wrong. He opened one eye, his tone gentle but edged with thorns:
“Xinxin… why did you run to his side…”
He muttered softly, “I was the one lying next to you first…”
Then he reached out a hand, searching toward Bai Zixin. But all he caught was a blanket—blocked by Gao Muting.
Ye Yibai: “…Hey, let me hold her too, okay?”
Gao Muting’s voice was cold, his eyes still closed. “No.”
Ye Yibai’s tone was quiet. “Are you always this selfish…”
Gao Muting: “She rolled over here herself. Blame me?”
Bai Zixin: “…”
She woke up. In the middle of the night, they were already fighting. Two voices filled the air, like a battlefield scene. Half-asleep, she mumbled, “Don’t fight anymore… I just want to sleep…”
Ye Yibai immediately answered, like summoned by her words. “Then come over to me, I’ll hold you quieter.”
Gao Muting gave a cold snort. “…Get lost.”
The next second, Ye Yibai actually rolled over, sliding in from the other side of the blanket. He pressed himself against Bai Zixin’s back and wrapped an arm around her.
Now Bai Zixin was stuck in the middle. In front, Gao Muting’s solid chest burned with heat. Behind, Ye Yibai’s soft arms surrounded her.
Both men were locked in “protect the wife” mode, and neither was letting go.
“Xinxin is mine.”
“She’s my wife. Take your damn hand off.”
“Tomorrow morning I’ll make milk tea for Xinxin first—”
“Who allowed that? She likes yogurt with red dates.”
“Wrong, she said mine always smells the best.”
“That’s only because she’s never tasted mine.”
Bai Zixin: “…”
Was this really their wedding night, or a fight between two big dogs?
She opened her eyes just a little inside the blanket. The two faces in front of her were way too close. Her own face flushed red, like a boiled tomato.
—What to do? She had only wanted a simple night’s sleep. But instead, it felt like she had stumbled into some kind of arms-dealer standoff.
In the end, she could only whisper to herself:
“Fine… talk about dish-washing order tomorrow. Tonight, just let me survive until morning.”
She breathed out softly, then held each of their big hands with her own, like stamping both sides with a seal.
And in a tiny voice, she said: “Good night… my big husbands.”
—That night, the stars outside were quiet, but the heartbeats were burning hot.
And she… had just become the center of these two men’s lives—Before she could even choose a side, she was already surrounded, sealed tight from both ends.
The night was deep, the bedroom faintly lit.
Bai Zixin was curled up under the blanket, sleeping soundly. The corner of her lips curved up slightly, as if she was eating sweet interstellar ice cream in her dream.
Her sleeping posture was just like her—never following the rules.
At first, she stayed obediently in the middle. But as she slept, she turned over… and then turned again…
In the end, she rolled straight into Ye Yibai’s arms.
Her fair, delicate legs wrapped around his waist. The pink hem of her nightdress almost lifted to her waist… Ye Yibai felt like he needed to start chanting scriptures. If he could stay calm in this situation, was he even a man?
He passively held this soft, fragrant little thing, and his body went stiff at once.
Her head rested against his chest. Her hand naturally lay on his waist, and she slept peacefully.
Ye Yibai’s ears flushed red instantly, but he didn’t dare move even a little. He was afraid to wake the little kitten in his arms.
He whispered, “…How can you be this cute.”
But the next second—
“How long has she been over there?”
A low voice came from the side, with a trace of suppressed anger.
Ye Yibai turned his head and saw Gao Muting staring at him with a dark face, his tone icy cold:
“I already gave in by letting you share the bed. Now you even have my wife in your arms. Don’t you think that’s too much?”
Ye Yibai’s eyes were calm, but he met his gaze without backing down:
“She rolled over here herself. I didn’t pull her.”
Gao Muting said coldly, “Then why don’t you put her back?”
Ye Yibai answered firmly, “She’s sleeping soundly right now. How could I bear to wake her?”
Gao Muting’s eyes darkened, his teeth gritted:
“You’re really good at pretending to be gentle.”
Ye Yibai shot back, “And you’re really good at being jealous.”
Their eyes clashed. In an instant, silent sparks filled the air.
If not for Bai Zixin lying between them, they might have already gone from “fighting with their eyes” to “fighting with pillows.”
Gao Muting couldn’t hold back. He moved a little closer to the middle, trying to “take her back.”
But Bai Zixin seemed to sense something. She gave a little hum and hugged Ye Yibai tighter.
—A direct strike!
Gao Muting: “…” This woman was like a piece of tender meat, luring two hungry dogs.
Ye Yibai’s lips curved slightly. On purpose, he whispered, “See? Tonight she wants to sleep in my arms.”
Gao Muting gritted his teeth: “Then tomorrow, when she wakes up, I’ll make sure she sleeps in my arms instead. Fair competition.”
Their anger burned, pressed down with restraint. Neither of them would give in.
Just then—
Bai Zixin rolled over and mumbled in a daze: “…More soup… no cilantro…”
Both men: “…”
Ye Yibai held back his laugh so hard his face turned red.
Gao Muting’s mouth twitched hard.
This woman… was she here for love, or was she just ordering food in her dreams?!
—That night, neither of the two husbands slept well.
One was nervous she might roll away.
The other was anxious, waiting for the next “roll back opportunity.”
But Bai Zixin… she slept better than anyone.
