- Chapter 7 - “Could this really be the fabled S+ heiress, notorious for her legendary temper?”
The breakfast room at Galaxy Manor was particularly lively that day.
Soft morning light filtered through the windows, glinting off a long silver-inlaid table adorned with over a dozen exquisite dishes—grilled fish fillet, white fungus milk soup, soft eggs, and toast topped with blueberry jam. The rich aromas mingled in the air, so tempting that even the bionic attendants couldn’t help but glance a few more times.
But all attention centered on just three people—no, mainly the one sitting in the middle.
Bai Zixin, now going by the name Wen Nuannuan, wore a soft floral morning gown. As a mixed-race girl, her golden-brown hair curled naturally and fell around her shoulders. She sat at the center of the table, sipping hot milk soup in small sips, her feet swinging under her chair like a kitten fresh out of school.
On either side of her sat two men with commanding auras.
To her left, Gao Muting wore a black shirt and army green trousers, his expression cold and firm, as if he had just stepped in from a military front line.
To her right, Ye Yibai wore a dark blue robe with wide sleeves. Gentle and calm, he looked like a chief researcher from the Tower Library.
They exchanged no words, but their gazes had locked at least ten times already.
“…”
The air between them bristled with silent rivalry.
Meanwhile, Bai Zixin kept eating happily, her eyes curving into crescents as if she were watching an episode of Animal Planet.
Suddenly, Gao Muting broke the silence and poured her a cup of warm milk. His voice was low but sincere. “Drink more. It’ll help you sleep better.”
Bai Zixin blinked, then grinned. “Oh~ My cold-faced husband is learning how to care.”
Not to be outdone, Ye Yibai opened a small thermos and revealed a jar of peach jam. “I made it last night,” he said softly. “Didn’t you say you wanted something sweet?”
“Wow!” Her eyes lit up as she quickly spread some on her bread. “You two… really know how to spoil someone.”
After taking a bite, her face beamed with delight. “So sweet and delicious… Are you guys secretly competing to see who treats me better?”
Ye Yibai didn’t reply, but the tips of his ears turned red.
Gao Muting muttered, “I’m not competing. I’m yours.”
Bai Zixin froze, her ears instantly burning. “…Saying things like that is against the rules.”
Before she could recover, a mechanical assistant beside her spoke up.
“Ms. Bai Zixin, your heart rate has increased by 12%, and your blushing index has reached the predicted warning level. Should this be marked as ‘heart-moving behavior’?”
Bai Zixin: “What does that have to do with you, you nosy robot?!”
Everyone at the table burst out laughing.
Then she noticed a few young attendants standing stiffly nearby, arms at their sides in perfect military posture.
She frowned, placing her hands on her hips. “Why are you all standing? The table’s big enough. You want me to eat three portions alone? Sit down and eat!”
The servants panicked. “M-Miss, we can’t sit at the main table… It’s against the rules…”
“The system is static—but I’m alive!” she said, grabbing one waitress and pulling her into a seat. “Make an exception for me today! Let’s call it a celebration for the first round of husband selection!”
The waitress nearly cried. “Thank you, Miss. You’re truly the kindest S+ lady.”
Bai Zixin bit her spoon and smiled mischievously at her two suitors. “So? Am I different from what you imagined?”
Gao Muting narrowed his eyes. “Completely different.”
Ye Yibai nodded, his voice warm. “But in a better way.”
She reached over and picked up a piece of meat for each of them. “Then you both better work harder… or I might consider a new candidate~”
Clack!
Two pairs of chopsticks hit the ground at the same time.
Gao Muting said coldly, “No.”
Ye Yibai smiled, but his gaze sharpened. “There’s no room for a fourth chair at this table, is there?”
Bai Zixin stuck out her tongue and twirled her juice cup. “Really? Then keep working hard. My heart’s full right now… but who knows about tomorrow?”
She tilted her head back to sip, bubbles clinging to her lips as she raised her eyes with a sly smile.
As if she knew everything. Or nothing at all.
She was an S+ heiress, the most coveted woman on the entire planet. A fate neither of them could refuse.
And her?
She simply smiled sweetly.
But that was enough to leave both men on edge, never daring to relax.
That morning’s breakfast—and her final teasing words—flipped the table from a love triangle into a survival match.
That evening, the Daily Planet ran a headline:
[Breaking News]
Bai Zixin of the S+ family dined with two husband candidates.
Sources say she “smiled frequently and fed generously.”
The romantic front is heating up—expect fierce internal rivalry.
Meanwhile, Bai Zixin lounged lazily on a swing in the garden, licking sweet peach jelly from her spoon.
“Hmmm… Hot pot sounds good for lunch. Then I’ll see who peels shrimp better~”
