After Becoming a Scummy Alpha, I Met the Reborn Omega (GL) - Chapter 1
In the dim dorm room, the only sound was the clacking of a keyboard. The flickering light from the screen cast a glow on Lin Changsheng’s face. Once youthful and fresh, her features were now weary and tense. As the sound of typing ceased, her expression slowly relaxed. She let out a deep breath.
“It’s done…”
Lin Changsheng was a prodigy specially admitted to the University of Science and Technology. Despite her young age, she was already eligible to participate in research at the institute. However, as a newcomer, her research project wasn’t taken seriously by others.
By the year 2040, humanity had begun to undergo a phenomenon of gender differentiation, gradually splitting into six genders within the ABO spectrum. Lin Changsheng predicted that within a year, the entire global population would complete this evolution. But current scientists dismissed her theory. They believed it was only temporary—or worse, a type of genetic mutation that needed to be stopped.
While others tried to suppress the phenomenon, Lin Changsheng was the only one researching the essence of the ABO shift.
After several exhausting days of work, she finally had time to rest. Stretching lazily, she stood up and glanced at the photo album beside her computer. It held a picture of her and her older sister—taken on her first day of college. In the photo, she wore a brilliant smile.
She poured herself a cup of coffee and began casually scrolling through news on her phone. Bored, she flipped through the headlines until one piece of entertainment news caught her attention.
“Mo Group’s new heir, Mo Zhaoyan, returned to the country yesterday. It’s reported that her return signals a plan to revive the company…”
A photo accompanied the article—Mo Zhaoyan in a fitted suit, still wearing that cold, distant expression that warned strangers to stay away. Lin Changsheng could never forget that face. With her exceptional memory, she remembered everything since childhood—and especially the person she had silently admired for years.
All through high school, Lin Changsheng had watched Mo Zhaoyan’s back. For three years, she had never dared to approach her. Back then, the Mo family was still prominent, and Lin Changsheng—coming from an ordinary household—could only admire her like a princess from afar.
On graduation day, she finally summoned the courage to confess. But by then, Mo Zhaoyan had already gone abroad. Lin Changsheng never saw her again.
Her family was average in every sense. Though gifted, Lin’s father didn’t want her to stand out. He wished she could grow up like a normal girl. But how could such brilliance be hidden? In high school, she had been admitted to a prestigious academy on special terms, but coming from a modest background, she always felt out of place.
High school wasn’t good or bad, but because Mo Zhaoyan was there, Lin Changsheng still had light in her life.
Until that light faded.
Taking another sip of bitter coffee, Lin Changsheng pushed open the glass door to the balcony, resting her hands on the railing as she stared into the endless night sky. Since Mo Zhaoyan, she hadn’t liked anyone else. She didn’t know if she ever would. But the feelings she had buried ran deep.
A shooting star streaked across the sky. Lin Changsheng’s eyes lit up.
“They say when you see a shooting star, you should make a wish. Alright then… I wish to see my future wife. I want to know who I’ll fall for—who I’ll spend the rest of my life with.”
It was just a passing whim. But the moment a blinding white light flashed before her eyes, Lin Changsheng realized something was off.
Am I dying from staying up too late? she thought in panic. No way—I don’t even have a wife yet! I can’t die young!
The white light faded. Scenes shifted rapidly before her eyes. Dizzy and disoriented, Lin Changsheng slowly regained consciousness—only to find herself sitting on a soft couch in an unfamiliar room.
Across from her sat a woman, cold and composed, staring at her without expression.
Lin Changsheng’s eyes focused on the woman’s face—and froze.
“Mo Zhaoyan?!”
It was Mo Zhaoyan, without a doubt. But compared to her memory, she looked more mature now. The same crisp white shirt, suit jacket thrown casually on the couch beside her. Her face revealed no emotion, but when she saw Lin Changsheng’s startled expression, her brows furrowed slightly.
“Lin Changsheng, you’re the one who wanted a divorce. Are you backing out now?”
Lin Changsheng pointed at herself, completely bewildered.
“I… wanted a divorce? You mean… y-you—you’re my wife?”
Clearly, her focus wasn’t on the divorce part—but on the fact that they were married. That was the real shock.
Mo Zhaoyan gave her a once-over, uncertain what game she was playing, but still nodded slightly.
Lin Changsheng slapped her own cheeks. It hurt. So… not a dream. Slowly regaining composure, her throat moved as she asked,
“What year is it?”
For the first time, concern flickered in Mo Zhaoyan’s eyes. Could her recent research have messed with her brain?
“The year is 2050.”
Lin Changsheng collapsed onto the couch as if all strength had drained from her.
“2050… That means I’m 30 years old…”
Her first reaction was to mourn her lost youth. Then her gaze shifted to the coffee table, where a stack of papers rested—clearly marked Divorce Agreement. Only then did she snap out of her giddy excitement over being married to her long-time crush.
She flipped through the document. The more she read, the more absurd it seemed. They had apparently entered a marriage of convenience three years ago, and now, due to her supposed infidelity, she was filing for divorce. According to the agreement, she’d walk away with nothing.
The more she read, the less it made sense.
“I cheated?” she thought angrily. I finally married Mo Zhaoyan—the woman I’ve been secretly in love with for years—and I go cheat on her? With some seductive homewrecker? What kind of idiot would do that?!
Future her was clearly out of her mind.
But sitting across from her first love, Lin Changsheng shrank back a little, voice uncertain:
“I want a divorce?”
“Yes.”
“I cheated?”
“Yes.”
“I’m leaving with nothing?”
“Yes.”
Lin Changsheng felt the world go black—and collapsed on the spot.
Seeing her faint, Mo Zhaoyan finally dropped her cold expression. With a rare trace of panic, she rushed to Lin Changsheng’s side. Her cool hand gently touched Lin Changsheng’s cheek—it felt hot. She was burning up. Quickly, she pulled out her phone to make a call. Her voice trembled with anxiety, though she didn’t even realize it herself.
“Yes, this is the address. I think it’s a fever from overwork. I’m not sure when her susceptibility period is. I’m her… wife.”
Only after hanging up did Mo Zhaoyan realize how little she actually knew about Lin Changsheng. Had she really cared so little? How could she not even know the basics?
When Lin Changsheng woke up again, she was lying in a hospital bed. This time, she was sure of one thing—this wasn’t a dream. She had really transmigrated ten years into the future. Everything around her was unfamiliar. She didn’t know how it happened, but she had no choice now but to take things one step at a time.
From outside in the corridor, she could hear the faint sound of a doctor talking to someone. The conversation came in and out, but she caught pieces of it.
“It’s just fatigue from overwork. Nothing serious. Her fever has gone down—she just needs rest.”
“Before she passed out, she said some really strange things. You know how important her brain is. Could the fever have affected it?”
“It’s not unusual to speak nonsense during a fever. But if President Mo is worried, we can do a neurological exam just to be safe.”
Then, as if remembering something, Mo Zhaoyan asked more seriously,
“Her gland was previously injured. This time, could it be…”
This hospital belonged to the Mo Corporation, and Lin Changsheng’s medical information was tightly protected. Especially when it came to her glandular injury—nothing had ever been leaked.
“Please don’t worry, President Mo. Her fever has nothing to do with her gland. There’s no sign of deterioration.”
Mo Zhaoyan nodded slightly, then turned and entered the room.
Hearing footsteps, Lin Changsheng quickly closed her eyes and pretended to sleep, ears sharp and alert. Mo Zhaoyan sat beside the bed. In the past three years, they’d had very little time alone—both buried in work. Recently, things at the company had only made matters worse.
Then out of nowhere, the scandal about Lin Changsheng’s affair exploded.
Lin Changsheng had already mentioned divorce before, but Mo Zhaoyan hadn’t agreed. It wasn’t until this supposed affair that she finally gave in. But now, Lin Changsheng was pulling something like this? Mo Zhaoyan just couldn’t make sense of it.
She let out a soft sigh, reaching out to place a hand on Lin Changsheng’s forehead. Confirming the fever had gone down, she finally relaxed.
Lin Changsheng heard the sigh and felt a pang of guilt in her chest. She could feel Mo Zhaoyan’s exhaustion—was she the cause of it?
Mo Zhaoyan leaned down, bringing her ear close to Lin Changsheng’s lips, as if trying to check her breathing. Only when she heard the steady rhythm did she completely relax.
Then she stood and left.
The room dimmed again.
Lin Changsheng opened her eyes. There was no sleepiness in them—only sharp clarity.
She had no intention of sleeping now. She needed to figure out what happened over the past ten years.
Thankfully, her phone was still with her. Unlocking it with her fingerprint, she opened her contacts—only to find that besides work-related names, the only other person listed was Mo Zhaoyan.
No one else. No family, no friends.
Her heart sank.
Where were her parents? Her sister?
Had she really cut off all ties with her family after marrying Mo Zhaoyan?
Trying to understand what had happened to her, Lin Changsheng searched her own name online.
Some results came up.
Lin Changsheng – Chief Researcher of Mo Corporation.
In 2041, she developed the first patented suppression patch, capable of preventing the release of pheromones from AO glands.
In 2047, she joined the Mo Corporation with her developed inhibitors and later married CEO Mo Zhaoyan.
Back in 2040, humanity began to split into ABO genders. The biggest issues became the Alpha susceptibility period and Omega heat. The release of pheromones from the glands became a major problem.
Lin Changsheng soon differentiated into an Alpha. In the early stages, due to Omega heat cycles—and with Alphas generally being physically stronger—there were even cases of Alphas using pheromones to force Omegas into submission. As a result, Alphas quickly rose in social hierarchy above Omegas.
That changed only when Lin Changsheng successfully developed suppression patches that could inhibit pheromone release. The power dynamic finally began to shift.
However, there was little online discussion of the controversies back then. What remained was only cold, objective fact.
Lin Changsheng remembered working on those patches. It was her current research project. She never expected that a year later, it would actually be completed.
But everything that came after was overwhelmingly negative.
“Cut ties with her family to marry into wealth.”
“Caught spending the night in hotels with various women.”
Each headline more damning than the last—many with clearly captured photos of her face.
“Heartless monster Lin Changsheng sleeps with seven women in one night—nonstop debauchery!”
She couldn’t even keep reading.
What the hell kind of beast had she become?!
Opening her messaging app, she found message after message from unfamiliar women. Clicking into them, she found vague and ambiguous conversations.
“You’re so generous, boss. Let me know if you need me again.”
There were transfer records too. She wasn’t just flirtatious—she’d been lavish.
Clearly, the “future” Lin Changsheng had a habit of deleting chat history. Only the most recent messages remained. There was no way to tell the full story.
She was just about to look deeper when noise broke out in the hallway.
“President Mo collapsed at the hospital entrance!”
Startled, Lin Changsheng didn’t even care that she was still in her hospital gown—she bolted for the door.
