After Becoming a Scummy Alpha, the Movie Queen Just Wants to Pamper Her Wife (LILY, ABO) - Chapter 14
Returning from the garden to the room, Meng Chuwu looked at Xi Xiaoyan, who was sleeping soundly. Her peaceful breathing filled the space with calm. For some reason, Meng Chuwu felt completely relaxed, and a wave of sleepiness began to wash over her.
If Xi Xiaoyan knew that she belonged to her in life and in death, she would probably be overjoyed.
That thought made Meng Chuwu a little annoyed.
Was she jealous of Scumbag A?
In a way, maybe she was just jealous of herself.
Since Scumbag A’s memories had already been implanted in her mind, and since she was now carrying that past and walking toward a future built on it, Meng Chuwu had to admit that Axi had been right all along. She and Scumbag A were the same person now. They had already merged in essence, and signing the contract would only make it official.
Meng Chuwu changed into soft pajamas and quietly got into bed.
Xi Xiaoyan’s warm breath surrounded her. At this point, the reality of being inside a novel world felt stronger than ever. She could no longer convince herself that this was just a dream.
“Sister Wu, where did you go?” Xi Xiaoyan’s sleepy voice was a little muffled.
“I couldn’t sleep, so I went for a walk,” Meng Chuwu said, lying on her side.
Suddenly, Xi Xiaoyan’s hand wrapped around her waist, and her body leaned in close.
It seemed she no longer had any sense of personal boundaries when it came to Scumbag A.
Meng Chuwu was still not used to her sudden closeness, but she didn’t want to pull away too obviously.
“Why didn’t you ask me to go with you?”
“Hey, don’t breathe on my back like that!”
Xi Xiaoyan’s warm breath made her whole body tingle. This girl was far too playful.
“I don’t like it when you sleep with your back to me,” Xi Xiaoyan said, rubbing her face against Meng Chuwu’s back. “I can’t find a comfortable spot. Your back’s too bony. It hurts my face.”
“Why are you so clingy?”
“Hmph.”
Xi Xiaoyan giggled softly. Her breath warmed Meng Chuwu’s skin again, making her shiver. Meng Chuwu shifted forward slightly, but Xi Xiaoyan moved with her, completely ignoring her resistance.
“Sister Wu, tonight just call me Little Octopus Xi,” she said, wrapping all four limbs tightly around her.
“If you keep doing that, you won’t be able to wake up in my arms tomorrow morning.”
Xi Xiaoyan immediately let go and said, “Then hurry and turn around, Sister Wu.”
Meng Chuwu hesitated, then slowly rolled over.
“You better behave. If something happens, I won’t take responsibility.”
“What kind of ‘something’?” Xi Xiaoyan asked with a mischievous laugh. She was fully awake now.
“Let’s wait until your heat period for that.”
“Okay, but I still want you to kiss me.”
They were lying on the same pillow, foreheads nearly touching.
In the dim light of the bedroom, their warm breaths and quiet words created an atmosphere filled with gentle intimacy.
The air carried a faint scent, something like flowers and fruit, though it was impossible to tell where it came from.
“Didn’t I kiss you before bed already?” Meng Chuwu said, gently tapping Xi Xiaoyan’s cheek. As she expected, her skin was soft and delicate.
“That was before bed. This is now. A kiss before sleep doesn’t mean we can’t have another now.”
“You really like it when I kiss you?”
“Yes. I love it when Sister Wu kisses me. Sometimes I wish I could spend the whole day doing nothing but kissing you.”
“That’s a dangerous idea.”
“It’s not dangerous at all. We’re married, aren’t we? I’ve been waiting for you to mark me. Once I carry your scent, no other Alpha’s pheromones will affect me anymore.”
By now, it was crystal clear how deeply Xi Xiaoyan loved Scumbag A.
Axi had been right. The idea of separation would only hurt her. She had already invested her whole heart in this relationship.
“I marked you temporarily last night. For the next few days, you’ll be fine.”
“Stop talking and kiss me.”
There was something pure and irresistible about Xi Xiaoyan’s attraction. She made no effort to hide her desires and voiced them clearly.
That sincerity stirred something inside Meng Chuwu.
She lifted her head and leaned in. Just like before, the kiss was sweet.
“Sister Wu, don’t you want to do something more?”
“Not at the moment.”
“Disappointed.”
“It’s really late. Time to sleep.” Meng Chuwu pulled Xi Xiaoyan into her arms. If the conversation went on any longer, she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to control the rising urge inside her. Once her pheromones were released, everything that happened the night before would happen again.
Xi Xiaoyan blew warm air against Meng Chuwu’s chest in protest.
Meng Chuwu had no choice but to hold her tighter to keep her from getting too playful.
Was this how every night was going to be from now on?
Why was heaven putting her through this kind of trial?
The next day, the sun was warm and bright.
Xi Xiaoyan wanted to go swimming, so Meng Chuwu took her to a five-star seaside resort.
She also called over Scumbag A’s childhood friend, a police officer named Ji Yi. She was an Alpha too. Back then, wherever Scumbag A went, Ji Yi was usually not far behind.
Their manager, Gong Xueyi, also came along. She was worried Meng Chuwu might stir up more trouble.
Just yesterday morning, the incident with Liao Xuehui had nearly turned into a scandal. If Gong Xueyi hadn’t stepped in quickly to suppress the rumors, Meng Chuwu’s first post-marriage tabloid headline would have been all over the media.
As soon as the four of them showed up, the hotel stirred with excitement.
When people found out they were heading to the pool, even guests who hadn’t planned to swim quietly followed after them.
The hotel’s swimming pool was surrounded by tall palm trees. Not far off were the beach and the sea, the view as beautiful as a painting. Everywhere you looked were attractive men and women, but without question, the ones who drew the most attention were Meng Chuwu and Xi Xiaoyan.
“This place was a mistake. Too many people, too many eyes,” Gong Xueyi muttered with a frown, scanning the area anxiously, worried that someone might try to take candid photos of Meng Chuwu.
“Then maybe talk to the hotel and see if we can reserve the pool,” Meng Chuwu said, clearly irritated. The crowd was starting to get on her nerves.
“Sister Gong, it’s really my fault. I was the one who said I wanted to swim at the beach, so Sister Wu brought me here,” Xi Xiaoyan said quietly. She felt that Gong Xueyi was being overly protective of Meng Chuwu. After all, she wasn’t a child.
“When did little Meng become the doting-wife type?” Ji Yi chimed in from the side, throwing a playful jab at Meng Chuwu.
“Since the day I met Xiaoyan,” Meng Chuwu answered dramatically on purpose, which made Gong Xueyi, who had been keeping a stern face, almost raise her hand to hit her. But with Xi Xiaoyan there, she had no choice but to hold back.
She glanced at Xi Xiaoyan. That girl looked stunning in anything. Even a plain swimsuit became eye-catching on her. No wonder Meng Chuwu had been so well-behaved lately.
“Keep a close eye on your wife. Don’t come crying to me if someone steals her away,” Gong Xueyi warned Xi Xiaoyan, motioning toward Meng Chuwu, who was already lounging under a sun umbrella.
Meng Chuwu replied lazily, “Don’t listen to Miss Gong, Xiaoyan. I’ve already retired from the scene just for you.”
Ji Yi gave a short laugh, clearly unconvinced by Meng Chuwu’s words.
“Sister Wu is the best,” Xi Xiaoyan said with a smile as she stepped under the umbrella beside her. No matter the situation, she always stood by her.
A group of lively young women ran over, giggling as they jumped into the water. In the noon sunlight, their splashes sparkled brightly.
“Hey, isn’t that Meng Chuwu in the white sunglasses?”
Someone in the crowd said it just loud enough to be heard. Instantly, it was as if a spring breeze had swept through the area. The noise stopped, and everyone around the pool turned their eyes toward Meng Chuwu under the umbrella.
Even Xi Xiaoyan, standing beside her, was openly looked up and down by curious onlookers.
Meng Chuwu was used to this kind of attention. Xi Xiaoyan, too, had become more composed after experiencing it once before. She no longer panicked when people stared at them in public.
With Gong Xueyi standing nearby, no one dared to approach recklessly. Her reputation for being tough was well known among those who followed the entertainment industry. As a result, no one tried to gossip loudly or snap photos.
After a while, the pool area returned to its usual noisy energy.
“Xiaoyan, let’s go swim,” Meng Chuwu said, standing up. She took off her sunglasses and placed them on the small table between the lounge chairs, then stepped into the pool.
Xi Xiaoyan followed her in.
The two of them played in the water like a pair of inseparable mandarin ducks, laughing and swimming together.
“I’m tired. I’ll go rest for a bit,” Meng Chuwu said as she swam toward the edge of the pool.
“You go ahead, Sister Wu. I want to do one more lap,” Xi Xiaoyan replied. Taking advantage of a distracted moment, she splashed water playfully into Meng Chuwu’s face. In the second that her eyes were shut against the water, Xi Xiaoyan laughed and swam away.
Wiping the water from her face, Meng Chuwu looked helplessly after the retreating figure of Xi Xiaoyan, then turned and climbed out of the pool.
The moment she stepped out, trouble followed.
